Table - best surf conditions forecast for Tamaris over the next 16 days.
Gather 'round, surfers. Let’s talk about the next couple of weeks at Tamaris. First thing you need to know: there’s nearly nothing on the cards that’s worth paddling out for. The entire 16-day window is plagued by tiny, weak, short-period slop. The water temp is sitting at 70°, which is about average for this time of year, so that’s one nice thing. But as for waves? It’s a brutal run of flatness.
From now through the first week, it’s all poor surf conditions. Winds are messy, switching from cross-off to onshore, and the swell is just pathetic — mostly 0.3ft to 1.0ft with periods of 3 to 6 seconds. The combined energy barely cracks double digits, often sitting at 2 or 3. That’s not surf; that’s a lake with a light breeze. Wednesday morning the 15th offers a rare moment of glassy conditions and a tiny 1ft SSW pulse (energy 6), but even then, it’s barely rideable on a foamie. Thursday the 16th morning is also glassy, with a similar 1ft SSE swell (energy 11), but again, it’s not enough to get excited about.
The second week doesn’t get any better. There’s a stretch from the 17th to the 22nd where the swell nudges up a little — still tiny, but some pulses reach 2ft to 3ft, like Saturday afternoon the 18th (3ft from the west, period 4 seconds, energy 21), and Tuesday morning the 21st (2ft WSW, period 5 seconds, energy 23). But the wind is often onshore or cross-onshore, and the period is so short those waves will just crumble. There’s also a glassy moment at sunrise on Sunday the 19th, but it’s completely flat — energy zero.
Honestly, if you’re looking for anything that even resembles a wave, the best of a bad lot is the morning of Saturday the 18th at Tamaris. You’ve got a 0.7ft SSW swell with a light offshore from the NW, making things clean on the surface (energy 3). It’s pathetic, but that’s the one time this whole forecast where the wind is right and there’s something, barely, to ride. Don’t expect any power or push. For anyone not on a longboard or a big SUP, it’s a skip.
Bottom line: this is a long, flat, frustrating outlook. These quiet spells happen here. Don’t hold your breath — and keep checking back, because forecasts can shift.
