It’s not pumping, but it’s a legit session.

Now Saturday the 8th morning is the real highlight of the first week – absolutely glassy, 2ft of long-period SSW groundswell at 16 seconds. The energy is up to 238. For a reef that likes southwest swell, this is clean, lined-up fun. Best early call in the whole outlook.

From Sunday the 9th through Thursday the 13th, it’s mostly ho-hum. The mornings are surfable but ordinary, and every afternoon gets cooked by onshore wind or storm risk. There’s a few glassy dawns, but the swell stays weak, with energy dropping to just 88 on Thursday the 13th. Not much to write home about.

Then Friday the 14th morning punches through – glassy, 2ft of SW groundswell with a very long 18-second period. Combined energy is 251. That’s proper reef swell, slow and powerful. The absolute gem, though, is Saturday the 15th – both morning and afternoon are glassy, with clean 2ft SW swell at 16 seconds. That morning session is your best bet of the whole 16 days: clean, consistent, no wind.

Into the second week, things stay small but with some moments. Tuesday the 18th morning has a glassy 2ft SSW swell at 14 seconds with moderate energy around 236 – a solid small-wave day. Then on Thursday the 20th, the biggest swell of the forecast arrives: a 3ft SSW groundswell with a 17-second period and energy jumping to 504 in the afternoon. The morning is glassy and looks clean, though the afternoon gets a bit of onshore breeze. That dawn session on the 20th is a long-range promise that could be the best of the lot – just keep an eye on it as it gets closer.

Crowds can show up, especially on the glassy mornings. For a reef that likes southwest groundswell, the longer-period pulses should offer some nice walls. Beginners might find that 3ft on the 20th a bit much, but the 2ft days are fine for all levels.

Overall, the windows are narrow, but when it’s on, it’s worth the wait.
