Alright, let’s take a look at what Kijkduin’s got cookin’. I’ll call it how it is – the next couple weeks are flat and pretty uninspiring. There’s nothing here that screams “go surf,” and most days you’re better off finding another hobby.
Kijkduin’s a beach and jetty spot, open to the north-northwest. Usually it gets waves fair frequently, but not during this stretch. The water temp is sitting at a real weird 68° – about 7° warmer than normal for this time of year. That’s pretty unusual.
The forecast starts Monday the 6th of July with tiny, weak waves – 1 ft to 2 ft – all cross-onshore and choppy. Zero scores all around. Not worth the hassle. Tuesday and Wednesday are more of the same: small, messy, cross-onshore slop. Wave energy is weak, the combined energy sits between 15 and 53 – basically nothing.
Thursday morning the 9th offers a little glimmer – glassy conditions early with a 2 ft swell from the north, 7-second period, combined energy of 24. It’s tiny, but if you’re desperate and it’s clean, you could splash around. Still, poor surf conditions is the call.
Then we hit a long dry stretch. From Friday the 10th all the way through to Saturday the 18th of July, the waves stay small – mostly under 3 ft – and the winds are generally cross-on or onshore, often moderate to fresh. There are a couple clean moments on Friday 10th and Wednesday 15th mornings with light cross-off breezes, but the swell’s just too small – 1.0 ft to 2 ft – and combined energy barely hits double digits. No real rideable waves.
Around Monday the 20th of July, we see a bit more size – 4 ft from the NNW with a 7-second period, and combined energy jumps to 145 (moderate energy). That’s the most interesting reading in the whole window. But it’s coming with a fresh breeze straight onshore, messy, and the description still says poor surf conditions. Not clean, and not for beginners with that size and chop.
After that, Tuesday the 21st stays messy with strong cross-onshore winds at 25 mph and small choppy surf – 3 ft to 3 ft. It’s more of a kite-surfing setup than a paddling one.
There is no standout session here. Not one day hits a score above zero. If you’re waiting for waves, this 16-day forecast is a washout. The region goes a full two weeks with no real recommendation. It’s one of those quiet spells where the North Sea just doesn’t deliver. Forecasts can change, so keep an eye out, but right now? Leave the board at home.
