Surf Forecasts:
The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. I've had a good look at what's on offer for the next couple of weeks, and I've got to be honest with you – it's a tough one. We're looking at a real flat spell for the whole 16-day window.
The only spot in the mix is Hamilton Beach State Park, a reef and point setup that's inconsistent and exposed to the NW. But the problem is, there's just no swell to speak of. The combined energy of all swells directed here is a big fat zero (0) for the entire period. The water temperature is sitting at 72° which is about average for this time of year, but that's small comfort when there's nothing to ride.
From Wednesday the 5th of August right through to Thursday the 20th of August, it's the same story. Every single session is marked as "poor surf conditions." We get some glassy mornings and clean afternoons with light offshore winds, but without any waves, it's just a nice day at the beach. There's a couple of days with a bit of a cross-off breeze, like the afternoon of the 13th and the 16th, but again, no swell to push it.
This is a blank run. It's not unusual for this area when the swell just doesn't line up. The forecasts can change, and it tends not to stay this quiet forever, but for now, there's nothing to get excited about. If you're desperate for a paddle, you might find a ripple, but honestly, don't bother.
Rusty.
