The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here. Let's cut through it – there's nothing to get excited about in this 16-day window.
It's a total flat spell. From now all the way through to August 11th, the models are showing a big fat zero. The combined energy of all swells directed here is 0. Not a single wave. We're looking at a long stretch of poor surf conditions with no swell height, no period, nothing.
The only break in the file is El Playon, a sheltered beach and breakwater. It's a consistent beginner spot, which makes this dry run a bit of a surprise – it usually doesn't stay this dead for long, so keep an eye on the forecast. The water temp is about 81°F, normal for the time of year, but you won't be needing a wetsuit for a flat ocean.
We do get a few glassy mornings, like Monday July 27th, Saturday August 1st, and Thursday August 6th, but with absolutely no swell, it's just a calm, flat surface. Afternoons bring some cross-onshore breeze and a few thunderstorm risks, but again, no waves to mess up.
Bottom line: leave the board at home. This is a long, flat gap. Forecasts can change, but right now, it's a hard pass.
Rusty.
