Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's take a look at what's on the cards for the next couple of weeks.
Straight off the bat, I gotta be honest with you – it's looking pretty bleak. The whole 16-day window is a total dud for surf. From now through to the 25th of August, there's absolutely nothing coming through. The combined energy of all swells directed here is zero (0) for every single day and session. That's a flat spell, plain and simple.
The only spot on the map is El Playon. It's a sheltered beach and breakwater setup, so it needs a specific swell direction from the NNE to even have a chance. But the charts are showing zilch. No swell height, no period, nothing. Just a long stretch of "poor surf conditions" day after day.
Now, the winds are often light and sometimes glassy, especially in the mornings, which would be a major positive if there were any waves. But there aren't. The water temp is sitting around 82° which is about average for this time of year, so at least it's warm for sitting on the beach.
This is one of those blank runs that happens here. It's not unusual for the area to go quiet for a stretch. Don't hold your breath for any of the afternoons either – they're mostly showing cross-onshore breezes from the ENE, which would just chop up any tiny bump that might try to show up.
Bottom line: leave the boards at home. There's nothing to ride. The forecast can always change, but right now, this is a solid two-week flat spell.
