The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s be straight with you – this outlook is a tough one. We’re looking at the full 16-day window, and I gotta tell you, there’s nothing on offer. From now until August 21st, the surf is completely flat. The forecast shows zero wave energy (0) for the entire period, so don’t even bother waxing up.
The only spot we’ve got to look at is El Playon, a beach and breakwater setup. It’s a consistent spot that’s usually good for beginners, but right now, it’s dead. The water temp is sitting at a warm 82°, which is about average for the time of year, but that’s the only thing that’s normal. The winds are mostly cross-onshore or onshore, and the conditions are described as "poor" every single day. There’s no swell, no energy, nothing.
We’ve got a few mornings with glassy or near-glassy conditions, like on the morning of August 18th, but without any swell to work with, it’s just a flat, pretty lake. Even the NW winds on the 9th, 10th, and 12th can’t do anything for us. For a spot that’s usually consistent, this is a real bummer. It’s just one of those blank runs that happens sometimes.
If you’re itching for something, keep an eye on the forecasts – things can change. But for now, I’d say take a break. The surf just isn’t here.
