The Lowdown
Alright folks, it’s Rusty here, and I gotta be straight with you—this outlook is a tough one to write. We’ve got a full 16-day window staring us down, and for every single session, the models are showing nothing but zeros for swell energy. That’s a big, fat zero. The combined energy of all swells directed here is (0) across the board. So, there’s no surf on offer. Plain and simple.
We’re looking at a blank run from Tuesday 25 August all the way through to Wednesday 9 September. Nothing. Nada. Not even a ripple worth mentioning. The only spot on the books is El Playon, a sheltered beach and breakwater setup that’s a beginner-friendly spot. It’s consistent when it works, but right now it’s just not working. The wind does go glassy on the morning of Saturday 29 August, which would be a dream for clean conditions, but with zero swell, glassy water is just a flat lake.
Water temp is sitting at 83°F with a +0.9°F anomaly, so it’s pretty much average for the time of year—warm, but not unusual.
This is one of those times where the forecast is what it is. For this area, a dry spell like this isn’t unheard of. It’s frustrating, sure, but forecasts can change. Keep an eye on it, because it tends not to stay this poor for long.
Rusty, signing off.
