El Playon Surf Forecast and Surf Report

Alright, Rusty here. Let's cut through it. Straight up, we are looking at a long, dry spell for El Playon. This is a beach and breakwater setup, sheltered, and it's a beginner-friendly spot, but for the next week and a half, it's pretty much flat and onshore or cross-onshore.

From now, right through to the 14th of September, there’s no surf worth mentioning. Every single session shows poor surf conditions, and the combined energy is zero. It's a total write-off for that first week. The wind is mostly a light cross-onshore breeze, occasionally picking up to a moderate breeze, but with no swell to work with, it doesn't matter.

Finally, on Tuesday the 15th of September, we see a tiny pulse. The morning shows a 0.3ft swell from the north with a long period of 12 seconds. The combined energy is weak at 3. The wind is a light cross-onshore, so it won't be clean. It’s still classed as poor conditions, so don't expect much.

Then, a few more of these ankle-biters roll through. On Wednesday the 16th, another 0.3ft north swell, period 11 seconds, combined energy 2. Thursday the 17th, same story: 0.3ft north swell, but a very long period of 15 seconds, pushing the combined energy to a still-weak 4. The wind stays a light cross-onshore that morning.

Honestly, for the whole 16-day run, there is not a single standout session. The only faint glimmer is on Sunday the 20th of September, when the morning forecast shows glassy conditions—wind from the southwest at only 3 mph. But with no swell showing up, it's just flat and clean. The final entry on Wednesday the 23rd of September is also glassy in the morning, with a tiny 0.3ft, 8-second period north swell.

If you're a beginner wanting to get wet regardless, any of those mornings with the glassy conditions and no wind might be okay for a paddle. But for actual surfing? There's nothing here. The wave energy just never gets out of the gutter.
