The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's on the cards for the next couple of weeks.
Well, I gotta be straight with you – it's a grim picture. Looking at the whole 16-day window, we're staring down the barrel of a total flat spell. There's absolutely no surf energy on the table. The combined swell energy is sitting at a big fat zero (0) for the entire run. That's not a typo; there's just nothing out there.
So, we're looking at a solid 16-day gap with no rides to be had. Starting from Monday the 13th of July right through to Tuesday the 28th of July, it's all the same story: no swell, and the wind is mostly cross-on or onshore, making it even worse. The water temp is sitting at a nice 82°F, which is about normal for the time of year, but you won't be needing a wetsuit for a paddle.
The only break on the radar is El Playon, a sheltered beach and breakwater setup. It's a beginner-friendly spot, and it can be consistent, but with zero swell and mostly junk winds, there's nothing to recommend. It's a real shame. Sometimes these blank runs are just part of the deal for this area, but let's hope the forecasts change.
Stay patient, mates. The ocean will wake up again.
