Table - best surf conditions forecast for Anglet - Les Dunes over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cookin’ for Anglet - Les Dunes.
Right off the bat, I gotta be straight with you – the next week and a half is pretty grim. We’ve got a long, flat spell on our hands. From now until around the 23rd of July, the waves are just too small and weak to get excited about. The water temp is sitting at a very unusual 76°, which is much warmer than normal for this time of year, so at least it’ll be a nice swim.
The only real standout in this whole 16-day window is the morning of Thursday, the 23rd of July. The swell bumps up to 7ft from the WNW, with a combined energy of (480). That’s a solid pulse. The wind is light and cross from the N, creating light cross-shore conditions with small ripples. It’s not totally glassy, but it’ll be clean enough for a good session. This is a proper size, though, so it’s best for experienced surfers – beginners will find it a bit too big. The period is 8 seconds, so it’s a short-period wind swell, not a groundswell. It’ll be a bit walled-up and not super organised, but it’s the best we’ve got.
The afternoon of the 23rd gets bigger, hitting 8ft, but the wind swings onshore and it gets messy. That morning window is the pick.
After that, we get a bit of a pulse through the 24th with 6ft (552 energy), but it’s onshore and choppy. The 25th drops back to 4ft, and the wind is cross-shore but with a little chop. Nothing to write home about. The 27th of July morning shows a bit of life with 3ft from the NW (171 energy) and glassy conditions, which could be a fun little session if the wait gets to you.
So, the long and short of it: keep your eyes on the morning of the 23rd of July. That’s the one. Everything else is a waiting game.
Rusty.
