The Lowdown
Alright, this is Rusty, and I gotta be straight with you – the outlook for Agami over the next 16 days is a real struggle. There's barely a window that’s worth paddling out for, so let's break it down.
We’re starting off with a bit of a bump. Wednesday the 15th has some waist-to-chest high swell, around 6ft, coming from the NNW. The swell energy is actually moderate (434), but it’s a short-period, 8-second windswell, and the wind is a solid 16 mph onshore from the NW. It’s messy, it’s choppy, and honestly, it’s a write-off. The water temp is sitting at 82°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, but that’s the only thing that’s not a letdown.
We then drift into a flat spell. From Thursday the 16th right through to the end of the month, the swell drops off and the wind directions stay largely onshore or cross-onshore. There’s a tiny glimmer on Sunday morning the 19th – the swell is only 3ft, but the wind goes glassy, light, from the NNW. That might give you a few knee-high, ordinary waves, but it’s more of a paddle and a tan than a surf session. The energy is just 77, so it’s weak.
The only real pulse of size comes in around Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th, with the swell bumping up to 6ft to 7ft from the NNW. The energy jumps into the strong range (497–701), but at 8–9 seconds, it’s still a short-period windswell. The problem is the wind – it’s cross-onshore to onshore, and the conditions are described as marginal at best. The break is a rare, exposed beginner spot that needs a clean N swell, and we’re getting NW to NNW. It’s frustrating.
For a break that’s already inconsistent, this 16-day window is a blank run. The setup looks more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing on those days with size and wind. The forecasts can change, but right now, save your energy.
Rusty.
