Table - best surf conditions forecast for Agami over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what the ocean’s got lined up for us.
First thing you need to know, it’s a tough stretch ahead. The water temp’s sitting at 81°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year – you’ll feel that bathwater vibe.
Right now, through the first week and into the second, there’s really nothing to get excited about. The swell is small and weak, mostly 2ft to 5ft out of the northwest, with short, bumpy periods between 5 and 7 seconds. That’s pure windswell – no grunt, no shape. The combined wave energy barely gets into the moderate zone a few times, hitting 183 (moderate energy) on Wednesday the 8th, but the wind is on it or cross-onshore for nearly every session. That means chop, bumps, and blown-out conditions. There is a brief moment on Friday morning the 10th where it goes glassy at Agami, with just a whisper of wind from the WNW at 3 mph, but the swell is only 2ft and weak. You could get a few ankle-biters, but it’s ordinary at best. The rest of the time, it’s a write-off.
There’s a gap of several days here – no standout surf at all. The break itself, Agami, is a beginner spot that rarely breaks, and through this whole forecast window it’s mostly delivering poor surf conditions. The swell is coming from the northwest, which is not its optimum direction either (it wants N swell to really work). So it’s not just small – it’s fighting an uphill battle.
Look, I’ll be straight with you – there is no proper stand-out session in this whole 16-day run. The closest you get is that Friday morning glass-off on the 10th, but even that is marginal. The combined energy drops to just 45 (weak energy), so you’re basically floating. If you’re desperate for a paddle, that’s your only window, but don’t expect much.
The whole setup is more of a kitesurfer’s window on the days with stronger onshore wind and chest-high chop. For us paddle surfers, it’s a frustrating blank run. The good news? A few of these days are “surfable but very ordinary,” so it could turn quickly if the wind swings. But for now, this is a classic “leave the board at home” forecast.
Rusty.
