Alright, let's get real with the outlook for Waihee (Maui). This is a reef and point setup, and the optimum swell here is from the NNE, but that's not what we're getting.
Right now and for the foreseeable future, we're stuck in a tough pattern. The wind is hammering out of the ENE, blowing cross-on and making a mess of things. The swell is coming from the ENE and NE, which isn't ideal for this spot, and the period is short, around 7-8 seconds. That means weak, choppy, jumbled surf. The wave energy (combined energy) sits between 200 and 370 for most of the first week, so moderate, but it's wasted with the onshore wind.
Looking at Friday July 3rd, you've got 5 feet of short-period ENE swell with a 12 mph cross-on breeze. It's not going to be pretty. That sets the tone for the weekend and into the next week. Saturday and Sunday are similar: 5 feet, short period, same wind. Monday July 6th pushes up to 6 feet with a 19 mph breeze in the arvo, which is too big for beginners and looks more like a kiting day than a surf day.
There is a brief window on the morning of Tuesday July 14th where we see a tiny 1 feet groundswell from the WNW with a very long period of 15 seconds (combined energy 201). That's the only hint of something different, but the wind is still cross-on at 16 mph, so it will be messy. A long-period swell like that needs clean conditions, and we don't have them.
Honestly, throughout this entire 16-day run, the score is a flat zero. There are no standout sessions. The wind is relentless out of the east, the swell direction is wrong, and the quality is poor. Crowds at Waihee can be a thing sometimes, but with conditions this bad, it'll be quiet. This is a blank run for good surf.
