Alright, Rusty here, looking at the forecast for The Bombie. This is a heavy, advanced reef break that only lights up when the swell and wind line up perfectly. And let me tell you, we've got a run of solid, clean conditions coming through that's got me pretty amped. The water is sitting at 80.2°, which is bang on average for this time of year.

We kick off this Sunday, July 12th, with a bit of a tease. The afternoon sees a 2.6ft SSW swell at 12 seconds, but the combined energy is only moderate at 365, and it's not quite the full show. The wind is offshore, so it's clean, but it's a warm-up, not the main event.

Monday the 13th is where it starts to get real. The morning is a bit of a washout, but by Monday afternoon, get ready. The swell is 3.0ft from the SSW, but the period jumps to a very long 21 seconds, and the combined energy hits a very strong 1059. That's groundswell, and it's going to be packing a punch. The wind is clean offshore, making for exceptional shape. This is a proper session for the experienced crew.

Tuesday the 14th sees the swell size jump up. The morning is a bit tricky with a cross-offshore wind, but the afternoon is the standout. You’ve got a 6.9ft SSW swell, with a period of 18 seconds and a massive combined energy of 2749. The wind is offshore, creating perfect, clean lines. This is big, powerful, and for experts only – it's a true standout.

Wednesday the 15th and Thursday the 16th keep the quality high. The swell hangs around the 4.6ft to 6.6ft range with those long, 15 to 16 second periods, and the wind stays offshore. Thursday afternoon, in particular, is a gem with a 4.6ft SW swell, 15-second period, and clean offshore wind. These are sessions where you just want to sit in the lineup and soak it all in.

We get a bit of a lull in quality from Friday the 17th through to the morning of Monday the 20th, with the swell dropping below 4.9ft and the energy dropping. The wind is still offshore, so it's clean, but the power isn't quite there.

Then, on Monday the 20th, the swell starts to build again. It's a bit rainy, but the size is back up to 7.5ft with a very strong 3210 combined energy.

Now, the real highlight of the whole outlook is the weekend of the 25th and 26th of July. That Saturday afternoon, July 25th, is looking like the absolute peak. We’re talking a 7.9ft SSW swell, 17-second period, and a massive combined energy of 3980. The wind is a clean offshore breeze. This is a huge, powerful, and perfectly groomed swell for The Bombie. It’s a heavy, advanced wave, but for those who can handle it, this is about as good as it gets. The Sunday the 26th keeps the energy high, too, with a 7.2ft swell in the morning. This is a world-class run of swell.

The last few days of the window, into the 27th, settle back down to more manageable 3.9ft to 4.6ft clean surf, a great way to finish the run.

The Bombie is an inconsistent beast, but when it fires like this, it’s something else. This is a stretch for the brave and the skilled.
