Table - best surf conditions forecast for Spanish Point over the next 16 days.
Alright, grab your coffee and paddle out, this is Rusty with a look at the coming weeks at Spanish Point.
Honestly, mate, it’s a tough stretch ahead. For an advanced reef and point break that needs a good solid west swell and clean conditions, we’re looking at a whole lot of nothing for most of the next 16 days. There’s a very long gap of poor, flat, or choppy conditions staring us in the face.
The only real glimmer comes on Friday morning, July 10th. We’ve got a small swell rolling in from the WNW at 2ft, with a nice 11-second interval. The combined energy sits at 205 (moderate). What makes this the standout is the wind: a light NNE breeze is blowing cross-offshore, so the face should be clean. Expect clean surf and small, workable lines for the experienced crew. It won’t be big, but it might be the only session worth paddling out for.
After that Friday morning window, it drops right off. The swell fades into the dirt all the way through to Wednesday, July 22nd. The water temp is sitting at 62°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year.
For the rest of the run, through July and into the third week, it’s a write-off. The swell never gets above 2ft, with a lot of days showing 0.7ft to 1ft. The wind is mostly on it or cross-onshore, often moderate to fresh. By the time we get to Wednesday, July 22nd, there’s a whisper of a 3ft west swell building, but the energy is weak (99) and the wind is still on it. That’s a long way out and not a solid bet.
So, to be blunt: aim for that Friday morning, July 10th. It’s not a classic, but with the offshore wind, it’s the only clean option on the table. Everything else in this 16-day window looks like a beach day, not a surf day.
