Table - best surf conditions forecast for Spanish Point over the next 16 days.
G’day, Rusty here. Look, I’ll level with you—this 16-day window for Spanish Point is a tough one. It’s a reef and point setup, exposed to the west, and it’s an advanced spot, but for most of the run, we’re looking at clean, tiny waves that just don’t have the push. The water’s sitting at 60°, which is pretty normal for this time of year, so no surprises there.
The first real chance of anything surfable comes on Tuesday the 14th. Morning sees a small 2ft swell from the west, with a 10-second period. The wind is offshore from the ENE at 12 mph, keeping things clean. The combined energy is weak (67), so it’s not going to be a world-beater, but you’ll get a few little lines. Afternoon stays similar with a lighter offshore breeze.
Wednesday the 15th is much the same—tiny 1ft swell from the WSW, period around 9 seconds, and light offshore winds. Energy is even lower (39). Not much to write home about.
Thursday the 16th morning is glassy, with the wind swinging to NE at 3 mph, but the swell is barely 1.0ft. It’s pretty much a lake. The rest of the week stays small and underwhelming, with a few cross-on days that just chop it up.
Now, we get a bit of a pulse around Tuesday the 21st. The morning sees a 2ft west swell with a 10-second period and light cross-shore winds. Energy jumps to 112, so there’s a bit more life. But the afternoon turns messy—the swell bumps to 5ft but with a short 6-second period and cross-on winds from the NW at 9 mph. That’s choppy and not great.
Wednesday the 22nd morning brings a 7ft west swell with an 8-second period, and cross-on winds from the NW at 6 mph. The energy is strong (451), but it’s a bit lumpy. This is getting into expert territory, size-wise, but the wind just isn’t cooperating. Afternoon is worse with stronger cross-on wind.
Thursday the 23rd morning is a standout moment—glassy conditions with a 4ft west swell, 8-second period, and light easterly wind at 3 mph. The energy is moderate (176). It’s clean, it’s small but fun, and for a brief window, it’s the best on offer. If you can get out Thursday morning, that’s your pick.
After that, Friday the 24th is a total washout for paddle surfing. The swell jumps to 13ft from the west with a 12-second period, and the energy is massive (4929). The wind is cross-off and clean, but that size is way too big for this break—it’s going to be a washing machine. Honestly, this setup looks more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing.
Saturday the 25th is still big (7ft) but with a shorter period and cross-shore winds, making it bumpy and not recommended.
So, to wrap it up: the best surf you’ll get is Thursday morning the 23rd—glassy, 4ft, clean. Other than that, it’s a long stretch of small, ordinary waves. Keep an eye on the forecasts, but for now, don’t get your hopes too high.
