Sacor Surf Forecast and Surf Report

Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cooking for Sacor. I gotta be straight with you – this 16-day window is a tough one. The forecast is pretty grim overall, with very few genuine windows of opportunity. The biggest issue is that for most of the period, conditions are just too choppy or blown out, and the swell is often small and weak.

We kick things off with no real surf to speak of. The first few days are a write-off. From Monday 3rd August right through the first week, the wind is a constant problem. It’s mostly cross-onshore or cross, and the wave heights are tiny – mostly under 3 ft. The combined swell energy is weak, often sitting below 100 (like 111 on Monday afternoon, dropping to 94 on Tuesday). It’s going to be a frustrating stretch of small, lumpy, and messy conditions.

There is a gap of several days here with no recommendations. The surf just isn't worth paddling out for.

We finally get a couple of sessions that are *surfable* but far from epic. The best bet in this whole outlook is probably Tuesday morning, 4th August. You’ll see a clean 3 ft swell from the west with a period of 9 seconds. The wind is a light, cross-offshore breeze from the south at 6 mph. That’s the cleanest window we get. The combined energy is just 102 (moderate), so it’s not powerful, but it’s the only time it’s gonna look decent. After that, it’s back to messy cross-onshore junk.

Then we come to Saturday 15th August. The afternoon sees a jump in size – 5 ft from the northwest, with a combined energy of 291 (moderate). That’s the biggest swell of the period. But the period is short at 7 seconds, and the wind is straight onshore from the west. It’s a marginal forecast, and with that onshore wind, it’s going to be a bumpy, closed-out mess. Too big for beginners and not well-shaped for anyone else.

The following morning, Sunday 16th August, is the other slightly surfable slot. You’ve got a 4 ft swell from the northwest, and a gentle cross-offshore breeze from the south at 9 mph. The combined energy is 133 (moderate). It’s *surfable* but still very ordinary. Short period (7 seconds) again, so expect a lot of whitewater and not much push.

Honestly, for the entire 16 days, there’s no standout. If you’re desperate, Tuesday morning 4th August is the cleanest, and Sunday morning 16th August is the next best. But don’t expect much. The water temp is about 66°, which is pretty normal for this time of year, so that’s not the issue. It’s just a bad run of weather and swell. Kites might have more fun on the bigger, windier days if they’re set up for it, but for paddle surfing, it’s a tough outlook.
