Table - best surf conditions forecast for Non Nuoc over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s talk about what’s on offer for our region.
Right now, things are flat. Real flat. We’ve got a bit of a dry spell to kick things off. From Wednesday the 8th through Thursday the 10th, it’s pretty much a write-off – waves are tiny, barely a bump, with combined swell energy sitting in the single digits and teens (3 to 17). Not worth paddling out for.
The first real glimmer comes Friday morning the 10th at Non Nuoc. We see a small pulse of 1 ft from the ENE with a period of 18 seconds. That long period is a groundswell, so there’s some energy there, but it’s weak – only 114 combined energy. Winds are light offshore from the WSW, so it’ll be clean. It’s surfable but ordinary.
Now, the standout window arrives Saturday the 11th. Saturday morning brings 2 ft of ENE swell, 21-second period, and strong offshore winds from the WSW at 16 mph. That’s proper clean. The combined energy jumps to 682 – moderate wave energy, heading toward strong. Saturday afternoon gets even better: 4 ft from the ENE, 18 seconds, and lighter offshore breeze from the WSW at 6 mph, glassy conditions with clean surf and combined energy at 887. This is easily the best on offer.
Sunday the 12th morning holds onto that goodness with 4 ft ENE swell at 16 seconds and moderate offshore winds, combined energy 625. It’s still very good. But by Sunday afternoon, wind swings onshore from the E and the quality drops off fast. After that, we’re back into a long quiet stretch – from Monday the 13th all the way through to Wednesday the 23rd of July, it’s mostly tiny waves, poor conditions, and combined energy stuck under 30. A few mornings have light offshore breezes, but with swell barely reaching 1 ft, it’s not going to get you excited.
Water temperature at Non Nuoc is 85°F, which is about average for this time of year, so no worries there.
If you’ve got a kite, those days with onshore wind and small, weak swell might be more your scene, but for paddle surfing, Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th morning are the only real show in town. Crowds are possible at Non Nuoc, so get in early.
Rusty.
