Alright, Rusty here. Let's be honest, looking at the next 16 days for Non Nuoc is a tough one. The water's warm, sitting at 86.2°F, which is pretty much average for this time of year, but that's about the only good news for a while. There's a big gap of nothing worthwhile for the first several days. We don't see any real surf on offer until Thursday morning, the 10th of July, and even then, it's a struggle.
The first few days, from the 5th right through to the 9th, are just flat. We're talking waves under 1.6 ft and weak energy, mostly in the single digits. You'd be better off taking a long walk on the beach. That Thursday morning, the 10th, we finally see a pulse of swell from the ENE with a decent long period of 19 seconds, but the combined energy is still moderate at best (153). The winds are glassy and offshore in the morning, but the waves themselves are tiny at 1.3 ft. It's surfable if you're desperate, but it's really pretty ordinary.
Friday the 11th is where things get interesting. Saturday morning the swell picks up to a more respectable 3.6 ft from the ENE, with a solid 18-second period and a combined energy of 738 (moderate). The wind is offshore from the WSW at 15.5 mph, which will keep things clean. The afternoon is even better, with the swell pushing 3.9 ft from ENE at 17 seconds and energy hitting 883. That's the standout window. For a sandbar break that's fairly consistent, this is the best on offer, but don't expect perfect barrels. It's a nice, clean groundswell for a point break style wave, not so much a beachie.
By Sunday the 12th, the swell is already dropping back to 3.0 ft and the energy is fading fast. After that, from the 13th onwards, we're back to a long run of tiny, weak swell from the NW, with energy values barely hitting double digits. The winds are often offshore, but with waves that small, it's a total write-off. The whole run looks more interesting for a kite than a paddle.
So, for the few days around the 11th of July, there are a couple of windows where it'll be worth a paddle. The morning and afternoon of Saturday the 11th are your best bet, with clean 3.6 ft to 3.9 ft groundswell from the ENE and solid offshore winds. Outside of that, it's a long wait.
