Table - best surf conditions forecast for Non Nuoc over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Gotta be honest with you, looking at the charts for Non Nuoc over the next couple of weeks, it’s a mixed bag with only a few real windows of opportunity. The water is sitting at a balmy 86°, which is pretty much spot on for this time of year, so no nasty surprises there.
The action kicks off this Saturday, the 11th of July. It’s not massive, but we’ve got a clean 3ft swell pushing in from the ENE with a long 16-second period. That’s proper groundswell folks, with a moderate combined energy of 377. Saturday morning is looking glassy with light westerly winds, making for some really clean waves. This break is a sandbar setup, so that long period will help shape things up nicely. It’s a beginner-friendly spot, and because it’s fairly consistent, you might be sharing it with a few others (crowds are sometimes an issue here), but for a Saturday session, it’s a solid choice.
Sunday the 12th is actually the standout of this entire forecast. The swell bumps up to 4ft from the same ENE direction, period hanging in at a very long 15 seconds, and the combined energy jumps to a healthy 530. The wind swings around to a solid offshore from the SW at 12 mph, keeping the faces clean and lined up. This is the best quality surf we’re going to see in the near term. It’s still very manageable for intermediates, but that offshore wind and long-period energy will give you some proper, grunty waves.
After Sunday, it’s a long, dry spell. From Monday the 13th right through to Saturday the 25th of July, the waves just disappear. We’re talking tiny, weak 1ft or less leftovers with poor conditions. The combined energy drops into the single digits and teens – it’s basically a lake out there. You’d be better off finding something else to do for a couple of weeks.
There is a little glimmer right at the end of the run. On Saturday the 25th of July, we see a bit of hope. A 2ft swell from the ENE with a 10-second period and a combined energy of 63. The morning is looking glassy with light NW winds. The rating says it’s surfable but pretty ordinary, so don’t expect miracles. It’s something to keep an eye on as a potential rust-buster, but this is definitely a “maybe” rather than a plan.
So, to wrap it up: grab your Sunday morning on the 12th for the best waves. The rest of the window is a write-off until maybe the 25th, but that’s a long way out and not a sure thing. Keep checking back, things can always change.
Rusty.
