Table - best surf conditions forecast for Non Nuoc over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s talk about what’s on offer at Non Nuoc over the next couple of weeks. Right off the bat, I gotta be straight with you – we’ve got a little window of decent surf to kick things off, but then it’s a long, dry spell after that. The first few days look promising, but after Monday the 13th of July, you’ll be twiddling your thumbs for the better part of a week and a half.
The action starts this weekend, Saturday the 11th of July. We’ve got a nice little groundswell rolling in from the ENE, and the water temp is sittin’ at a balmy 86°, which is pretty normal for the time of year. Not too hot, not too cold. Saturday morning, the wind is light offshore from the WSW, and you’re looking at chest-to-head-high waves, around 3ft. The period is a solid 16 seconds, which means long, drawn-out lines and plenty of energy in the water. You’ll feel that push – the combined swell energy is a moderate 377. It’s going to be clean as a whistle, perfect for a beginner-friendly sandbar. Afternoon sees the wind pick up a bit to a cross-off, but the quality holds.
Now, Sunday the 12th of July is your standout. The morning glass-off is gone, but we’ve got a consistent 20 km/h offshore from the WSW. The swell builds slightly to 4ft, still from the ENE, with a 15-second period. This is where you want to be. The energy is kicking at 530, which is a proper step up – strong, meaty waves that will reel down the line. It’s clean, consistent, and the crowd factor is there sometimes, but the quality will have you forgetting about anyone else. This is the best session on offer. The afternoon drops off a little in size and period, but it’s still surfable with offshore wind.
Then the plug gets pulled. Monday the 13th of July, things fade fast. The swell drops to 0.7ft, and the energy plummets to just 19. From there, we go into a massive gap. From Monday afternoon all the way through to Saturday the 18th, it’s basically flat – tiny, short-period junk or onshore slop. You’ve got 0.3ft to 2ft waves, wind shifts everywhere, but nothing surfable. Sunday the 19th of July afternoon shows a flicker of hope – a little 3ft pulse from the NW, but the period is a pathetic 6 seconds, and the energy is only 95. The wind does go glassy though, so if you’re desperate, it’s a paddle, but it’s weak and choppy.
After that, from Monday the 20th right through to Sunday the 26th of July, it’s the same story. Kites and flat boards. The swell rarely breaks a 2ft, and when it does, the period is short and the direction is all over the shop. This area is seeing a classic mid-summer lull. If you’re a beginner, your last real shot was Sunday the 12th. For the rest of us, it’s time to find a different hobby or wait for the charts to change.
Stay patient, and keep your eyes peeled for the next pulse. This is Rusty, signing off.
