Alright, let’s take a look at what’s happening with Non Nuoc.
Right off the bat, it’s pretty quiet. For the first few days, we’ve got tiny dribbles of swell. Tuesday and Wednesday (July 7th and 8th) are a write-off – maybe 0.3ft to 0.7ft of weak, short-period windswell. The water’s a warm 85°, which is about average for the time of year, so that’s nice for a float but not for a surf.
Thursday morning (July 9th) looks glassy, but the swell is still barely a pulse at 0.7ft. You’d be scratching for anything. That flat spell runs right through until Friday morning (July 10th) when we finally see a tiny pulse of 1.0ft from the ENE with a period of 17 seconds – that’s a long-period signal, but the energy is still weak, only (60). It’s surfable, but ordinary. By Friday afternoon the onshore wind kills it.
Now, here’s where it gets interesting for you. Saturday morning, July 11th is the standout. We’ve got a clean 3ft groundswell out of the ENE, with a solid 21-second period. That’s a lot of energy pumping in (768). Wind is firing offshore from the WSW, so it’s going to be clean and lined up. This is a sandbar break, so that long-period swell might make it a bit straight at times, but the quality should still be very good. Crowds are possible here, so get in early. Sunday morning (July 12th) is also very good – similar 4ft swell from the same direction, 16-second period, offshore wind, and solid energy (625). Saturday morning is the pick of the whole run.
After Sunday morning, it drops off fast. Sunday afternoon gets onshore and messy. By Monday (July 13th) we’re back to 0.7ft. The rest of the outlook into the second week – from July 14th all the way through to July 22nd – stays tiny. We’re talking 0.7ft to 1ft, mostly short-period NW windswell. Even though the wind stays offshore a lot, there’s just no power. It’s a long, flat gap after the weekend.
So, to sum it up: the first few days are a no-go, then Saturday morning, July 11th and Sunday morning, July 12th are the ones to circle. After that, it’s a long stretch of small stuff. Keep an eye on the forecasts, but for now, that Saturday morning window looks like the only real chance for a proper session.
