Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's cookin' for Nam O Point.
To be straight with you, the next week and a half is mostly a write-off. We've got a long, flat spell on our hands. You're looking at tiny, weak dribble from July 7th right through to the morning of the 10th – we're talking ankle-snappers with hardly any energy behind 'em. Conditions are mostly clean or glassy, but there's just no push. It’s a real tease.
Things finally start to show a pulse from Friday afternoon, July 10th. The swell bumps up to a mere 1ft from the ENE, and the combined energy climbs to a weak 120. It's still pretty ordinary, but the glassy conditions in the afternoon make it a least a paddle.
Now, if you're looking for the one true standout, you gotta circle Saturday, July 11th. The morning kicks off with clear skies, a light offshore wind, and the swell jumps to a very surfable 3ft from the ENE. The period is a lovely 21 seconds, so that's some proper groundswell energy – you'll feel the push, and it'll groom up nicely over the banks. The combined energy is a solid 768 (moderate wave energy), and the forecast says "expect very good surf conditions." Sunday morning, July 12th, is almost as good with clean 4ft surf and the same ENE direction, energy still pumping at 625.
That Saturday and Sunday morning window is the pick of the entire forecast. After that Sunday afternoon, it pretty much shuts down again into tiny dribble for the rest of the outlook. The water temp is sitting around 86°F, which feels about average for this time of year.
So, if you can, make the call for the 11th morning. It’s a short window, but it’s got the cleanest lines and the most grunt.
Stay wet,
Rusty
