Table - best surf conditions forecast for Nam O Point over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s take a look at Nam O Point. The water’s running about 86°, which is pretty average for this time of year.
Honestly, it’s a slow outlook. We’re looking at a long stretch of tiny, weak surf starting off. The first few days, right through Friday the 10th, are flat with waves around 0.3ft to 1ft, and the energy is barely there – readings from 3 to 169 on the combined scale. Not worth gettin’ wet for.
The only real window of hope lands on Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th. Saturday morning brings some clouds, a light offshore wind from the W at 6 mph, and a clean 3ft swell from the ENE. That swell has a period of 16 seconds, so it’s proper groundswell with some grunt. The combined energy jumps to 384 (moderate), and by the afternoon it’s up to 487 with a clear sky and a stiff offshore breeze from the WSW at 9 mph. Sunday morning is the real standout: the swell builds to 4ft from the ENE, period 16 seconds, and the combined energy hits a solid 778 (moderate). The wind is a light offshore from the SW at 6 mph, keeping it clean. That’s your best shot right there. For a beach/jetty break, that long period (over 15 seconds) can make the waves a bit straight, but the offshore wind should keep ‘em fun. It’s a consistent spot, and crowds are *sometimes* an issue, so you might have to share.
After Sunday afternoon, it’s back to the small stuff. From Monday the 13th through the rest of the 16 days, the swell flattens out to 0.3ft to 2ft of mush. The energy values drop to the single digits and low teens. Wind is mostly offshore or glassy, but there’s simply no swell to push it around. It’s a long, dry stretch.
So, you’ve got one good weekend. Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th are your only real chances. The rest of the time, save the wax.
Rusty.
