Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s on offer for Les Conches.
Honestly, it’s a pretty quiet picture over the full 16 days here. There’s no good surf to speak of right now, and that run of nothing stretches from the 6th right through to the 21st. Every single record in the period gets a “poor surf conditions” tag. So if you’re looking to paddle out, this stretch is a write-off. That’s just how it goes sometimes in this area—when it goes flat or junky, it can stay that way for a while. But don’t lose heart; forecasts can change.
The first break we can talk about is Les Conches. It’s a beginner-friendly spot that is fairly consistent when there’s swell, but the problem here is there’s almost no wave energy to work with. The water is sitting at 69°—that’s a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, so at least a dip is pleasant.
For Monday the 6th, you’ve got a tiny 1.0 ft wave coming from the west with a 9-second period, so a weak, short-period source. Combined energy is only 15 (weak), and the ESE cross-off breeze is light, keeping the surface clean in the morning. But it’s just too small to surf. The afternoon turns onshore from the west at 9 mph, so it goes choppy.
Tuesday the 7th serves up a flat 1.0 ft again, same west swell, same weak energy of 14. The morning goes glassy calm with offshore conditions—dead flat though. Not even a ripple to ride.
Wednesday the 8th drops to 0.7 ft, a 10-second period, still from the west. Early morning clean with a light cross-off from the ESE, but there’s just nothing moving. Afternoon picks up a moderate cross-onshore breeze that ruins any chance.
Thursday the 9th shows a slight bump to 1 ft, period at 10 seconds, combined energy creeping up to 33 (still weak). The morning cross-swell from the south-southeast keeps it messy, and the afternoon swings onshore from the WSW. Not worth suiting up.
Friday the 10th is more of the same: 1.0 ft in the morning, weak energy of 17, onshore breeze. By the afternoon, the swell height hits 2 ft, and energy jumps to 109 (moderate), but it’s a cross-onshore situation with west-northwest winds making it choppy. Best for watching the horizon.
From the 11th onward, it’s a pattern of small, weak swell and onshore or cross-onshore wind. The most notable size shows up on Tuesday the 21st, with a 4 ft swell from the WNW, but the period is a pathetic 4 seconds, so it’s just lumpy and weak—energy only 46. The wind is onshore at 19 mph. That’s not surfable.
For the whole 16-day window, there’s no standout day. Not one. If you were thinking of trying something, save your energy. This setup looks far more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing, especially with that fresh wind on the 18th and 19th.
Keep an eye on the longer-range—if things shift, you might get a surprise. But for now, it’s a total blank.
