Table - best surf conditions forecast for Les Conches over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what Les Conches has cookin’ for us over the next couple of weeks.
First up, I gotta level with ya—this stretch is lookin’ pretty bleak for a solid run. The water's sitting at 69°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, but that’s about the only thing that’s slightly out of the ordinary.
We start off on Wednesday, July 8th, with tiny ankle-slopers. Wednesday morning has a weak 1 ft SSW windswell, period a sad 5 seconds, and light cross-off breeze, but it’s just too small to do anything with. Combined energy is a very weak 23. That afternoon goes onshore and dies completely. Same story Thursday and Friday—morning clean-ish but tiny, afternoons chopped out by onshores.
Saturday morning, July 11th, we get a moment of peace: glassy conditions with the wind going dead calm, and a tiny 1.0 ft W swell, period 9 seconds. You might get a dribbler if you’re on a log, but it’s not worth paddling out for any real surf. Combined energy is only 25. It’s clean, but there’s nothin’ to ride. The rest of that weekend is the same sad tune.
There’s a long gap of days here where nothing really works. We jump all the way to Friday, July 17th, when we finally see some size pop up—4 ft W swell, but period’s a short 6 seconds and it’s cross-onshore. Combined energy hits 141, so it’s got some push, but it’s messy and lumpy. That’s more of a wind-chop session than surf.
Saturday July 18th pushes bigger: 5 ft to 5 ft SW swell, period 7 seconds, with onshore and cross-onshore winds. Combined energy climbs to 198-221. This is gettin’ into head-high range, but the quality’s poor. Onshore wind and short period mean it’s gonna be a washing machine. Not recommended for beginners at this size, and the chop will frustrate everyone else.
Sunday July 19th holds 4 ft to 4 ft W swell, but again, onshore winds and short period (6 seconds). Combined energy still moderate at 119-120. It’s just ugly.
Monday July 20th shows similar 4 ft to 4 ft W swell, period ticking up to 8 seconds, but still cross-onshore. Combined energy now 190-228. It’s got more grunt, but the wind keeps it from being clean.
Tuesday July 21st is the only stand-out in this whole run—and it’s a full two weeks out, so take it with a grain of salt. Morning has a 4 ft W swell, period 10 seconds, with a fresh cross-onshore—not ideal. But the afternoon brings 4 ft WNW swell, period 9 seconds, and the combined energy hits 401 (strong). That’s the most push we see, but the wind is a fresh cross-onshore at 22 mph, which is gonna make it lumpy and tough to manage. If you’re an experienced local and can handle bumpy, fast walls, there might be something there, but it’s not gonna be pretty.
After that, Wednesday July 22nd drops back to tiny, weak leftovers with cross-onshore winds, and Thursday the 23rd is flat again.
Honest truth? There’s no real gem in this 16-day window. The best chance for anything with decent power is Tuesday July 21st afternoon, but the wind ruins it. For clean surf? Saturday July 11th morning was glassy but too small. This is one of those blank runs where the forecast just doesn’t line up. Keep an eye on it—things can change.
Rusty.
