The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here again, but in feet. Let's break it down.
First thing, it's looking flat for a while. We're talking about L'Hermitage Right (Réunion), a reef setup for the advanced crew, but the 16-day forecast is a real bummer. The water temp is about normal for the season, nothing special.
Thursday the 6th of August kicks things off with a tiny 2ft swell from the NE, with a short period of 8 seconds. The energy is a weak 41, but the wind is glassy, so it would be clean if there was anything to ride. Friday the 7th is even smaller, with a 2ft swell. The wind is cross-off in the morning, keeping it clean, but the energy drops to 32. It's just not worth paddling out.
This flat spell stretches on through the weekend. The morning of Monday the 10th shows a 1ft NE swell, with a period of 10 seconds, but the energy is a poor 39 and the wind is cross-shore. There are big, empty gaps in the forecast with no waves at all.
Looking way ahead, the afternoon of Wednesday the 19th of August shows a small 3ft swell, but it's from the SE, not the ideal N direction for this break. The period is short at 6 seconds, and the energy is only a moderate 66. The wind is glassy again, so it'll be a pretty face, but the size and direction are wrong. Thursday the 20th afternoon is a repeat of that same 3ft SE swell with glassy conditions. This is the best of a very poor bunch, but it's still a no-go. The swell is too small and from the wrong angle to do anything at this reef.
With combined energy figures barely cracking 100 for the whole 16 days, this is a total write-off. The swell is weak, inconsistent, and mostly non-existent. Keep the board in the car for this one.
Rusty.
