Il Convento Surf Forecast and Surf Report

Alright, Rusty here. Let's take a real good look at what Il Convento has cookin' for us. It's a reef and point set-up, so the bones are right for some quality, but this forecast window is a total bummer.

First off, the whole 16-day stretch is a rough one. Honestly, there is no surf worth paddling out for over this entire period. We're looking at a massive, frustrating gap with zero recommendations. The waves just aren't showing up. From now right through until the 10th of August, the wave energy is absolutely gutless – we’re talkin' readings down at 31, then droppin' into the single digits and mostly zeros. The few tiny, weak bumps we see in the first few days, like a 2ft SE swell on the morning of Sunday the 26th of July, are plagued by poor conditions and onshore wind. The water temp is sittin' pretty standard for this time of year, nothin' out of the ordinary.

We get a brief moment of hope on the morning of Wednesday the 29th of July, with glassy conditions and light airs – perfect for a clean surface – but the swell is barely a ripple at 0.7ft. It's heartbreaking. There are a few mornings early on with glassy or clean conditions, like the 30th of July, 31st of July, and the 2nd of August, but they all have zero swell or a pathetic 0.3ft bump.

From the 1st of August onwards, it’s a barren wasteland. Day after day of clean, glassy mornings and offshore winds, but with absolutely no surf. By the time we get to the second week, it's the same story: a whole lot of wind and no waves. For an exposed reef and point like Il Convento, this is a normal dry spell for the area. When there's no swell pushing in, it just doesn't break. The setup looks more interesting for a day on the stand-up paddle board than a surfboard right now.

The only positive? The conditions are often clean, so if a sneaky little swell ever pops up, it’ll be glassy perfection. But for this forecast window, don't even bother waxin' up.
