    The Lowdown

Alright folks, Rusty here. Let me level with you about this stretch of coast. Looking at the full 16-day window, I’ve gotta call it straight – we’ve got a flat spell that’s gonna drag on for a good while. The breaks around here aren't showing a single decent ride in the whole period. The first recommendation only shows up right at the start, and it’s a total dud. The combined wave energy is zero (0) with no swell height, no period, and the conditions labelled as "poor surf conditions". So there’s a gap of nothing – I mean, nothing – from Tuesday 4 August right through to Wednesday 19 August.

Today, 4 August, we have Foinikounta coming up with nothing but glassy, flat water. The water temp is sitting at 81°, which is a touch warmer than what we’d normally expect this time of year. But even with light northerly winds at 3 mph, there’s absolutely no swell to ride. That’s it. There are no other breaks worth a mention, no hidden gems, no sneaky groundswell pulses. The entire area is in a prolonged flat calm.

If you’re a beginner, there’s nothing to learn on. For experienced surfers, there’s nothing to chase. Honestly, with the combination of zero swell and clean but empty conditions, this setup would be more interesting for someone looking to take a kite out than paddle into a wave. Forecasts can change, but as it stands, this is a classic lull for this region – a blank run is pretty normal when the weather plays out like this.

Later in the second week, around 14 August (Friday), there’s a morning of glassy conditions, but still zero swell, so it’s just a flat, calm day. Nothing to get excited about. The surf stays dead all the way through to the end of the 16-day window.

Tough one to report, but that’s the reality.

    Stay patient, Rusty.
