Table - best surf conditions forecast for Fano Sassonia over the next 16 days.
G'day, Rusty here. Look, I've scanned the charts for the next 16 days, and I gotta be straight with you – it's a tough period for Fano Sassonia. The swell is tiny, the wind is often messy, and the overall wave energy is barely a whisper. We're looking at a long stretch of flat or near-flat conditions, with only a few brief moments that might get your heart beating, but even then, it's for the dedicated longboarder or a beginner wanting a splash.
The first real chance to get wet comes on the morning of Sunday, 12 July. The swell is a tiny 1.6 ft from the east, with a short period of 4 seconds. The combined energy is a weak 10. The wind is a light offshore from the WNW at 6 mph, which will keep the surface clean. It's not much, but it's something. The water temp is about average for this time of year.
After that, Monday the 13th morning is glassy but flat, with no swell at all. The wind picks up from the east on Monday afternoon, making a mess of things. Tuesday the 14th sees another glassy morning with no swell, and then onshore winds ruin the afternoon. This pattern of flat mornings and choppy afternoons drags on for days.
The next faint pulse arrives on Thursday morning, 16 July. We get a 2 ft swell from the NE, with a period of 5 seconds and a combined energy of 21. The wind is a light offshore from the WNW at 3 mph, so the surf will be clean. Still, it's tiny, with very little push.
The best of a bad bunch shows up on the morning of Saturday, 25 July. The swell picks up to 2.6 ft from the north, with a period of 5 seconds and a combined energy of 27. The wind is a light offshore from the WNW at 6 mph, keeping it clean. This is the standout, but only because everything else is worse. For a beginner, this might be a fun little wave, but seasoned surfers will be left wanting.
Honestly, for the whole 16 days, the combined wave energy never breaks 50, which tells you how weak it all is. With the wind often onshore and the swell direction not matching the optimum ESE for this spot, the consistency is poor. It's a frustrating run. If you're desperate, the mornings with a light offshore wind and a tiny bump are your only window.
