Table - best surf conditions forecast for Fano Sassonia over the next 16 days.
Alright, I've got the data for Fano Sassonia. Let's have a look at what's on offer.
Honestly, folks, it's a bit of a quiet stretch ahead. We're looking at a 16-day window here, but don't get your hopes up for any star performances. The whole run is labelled as "poor surf conditions", so we're not expecting any standouts.
Let's start from Sunday the 12th. We've got a tiny 1 ft swell coming from the ESE with a short 5-second period, combined energy is only (13). The wind is onshore from the NE at 9 mph, so it's not doing that small wave any favours. The water is sitting at 80°, which is a pretty solid 5° warmer than usual for this time of year – feels like a bath out there.
Monday the 13th is a write-off with no measurable swell, and a fresh cross-onshore breeze at 19 mph in the afternoon will just make a mess.
We go through a long gap here. Tuesday the 14th, Wednesday the 15th, Thursday the 16th... all have tiny, weak pulses or no swell at all. The winds are mostly cross-off or light, so it would be clean if there was anything to ride, but there simply isn't. This dry spell runs for a good few days.
We finally see a tiny pulse on Friday the 18th morning, 2 ft from the NE with a period of 4 seconds and energy of just (8). It's clean with a WNW cross-off wind at 9 mph, but it's not enough to get excited about.
This pattern of gutless surf continues all the way through to the end of the month. We see a few moments of interest, like Tuesday the 21st morning with glassy conditions and a 1.0 ft E swell, or Saturday the 26th afternoon with another glassy session and a 2 ft NNE swell showing a combined energy of (20). But the period is always short, always under 8 seconds, and the height is barely ankle-knocking.
The last few days, the 26th and 27th, show the biggest numbers we see – a 3 ft NNE swell on the Monday morning the 27th with energy at (39) and clean conditions. But even that is still rated as poor surf.
Honestly, for a beginner spot that's inconsistent and exposed to swell, this is a pretty blank run. The waves are too small and weak, and the short periods mean they'll just be sloppy. If you're a surfer, you're better off leaving the board at home. If you've got a kite, those cleaner days with a bit of pulse might be more interesting, because the paddle surfing just isn't there.
Stay patient. The forecasts can change, but for now, it's a long waiting game.
Rusty.
