The Lowdown
Alright, let’s talk Dee Dees. That’s a reef break that really wants a south swell, and we’re getting exactly that later on, but the first few days are a total washout. Tuesday July 14th through Thursday July 16th – cross‑shore winds, lumpy chop, short‑period junk. Nothing worth paddling out for.
Then Friday July 17th throws up a big pulse – 6.9 ft to 8.2 ft out of the SSW with a long 14‑second period. Water temp is about normal for July at 54.5°. But that size is just too much for this reef; the forecast says it’s predicted to be too big. Unless you’re looking for a beating, stay out.
Saturday morning July 18th is your first real window – swell drops to 3.9 ft, still SSW, 10‑second period, clean with a light cross‑off breeze. Crowds can show up sometimes, so you might have a few friends out. That’s a decent little session.
But the standout? Monday July 20th. Morning has 5.2 ft SSW groundswell at 14 seconds, clean cross‑off wind, then glassy in the afternoon. That’s the pick of the whole forecast – solid energy (1097), lined‑up waves that’ll suit experienced surfers. Tuesday and Wednesday also give you clean 3.6–4.3 ft
