Table - best surf conditions forecast for Dee Dees over the next 16 days.
Alright, let’s break down what’s happening at Dee Dees.
Right now, we’re looking at flat and choppy conditions. The first few days are a bit of a bust, so don’t rush to get your board wet.
Saturday the 11th is a total dud – 1ft of weak, long-period swell from the SSW with cross-onshore wind. That afternoon it gets to 3ft but still messy. Leave it.
Sunday the 12th shows some hope. Morning brings clean 3ft from the SSW with a light cross-offshore breeze from the NNE – it’ll be rideable and tidy for an intermediate surfer. The afternoon stays clean at the same size. Not a standout, but a decent window.
Monday and Tuesday (13th and 14th) go sour – wind picks up strong, swell gets short and lumpy. The combined wave energy drops to weak levels, so it’s not worth the drive.
Wednesday through Friday (15th to 17th) are small and mostly poor. Thursday morning might give you a glassy knee-high wave if you’re patient.
Now, here’s the big one. Saturday the 18th of July – this is the standout. The swell is predicted at 10ft from the SSW with huge energy, glassy conditions in the morning and light offshore wind. But let’s be real – that’s too big for Dee Dees. It’s a reef break and that size is for experts only. The afternoon jumps to a massive 18ft – that’s serious, heavy water. Only for the hardcore crew.
Sunday the 19th is still oversized at 13ft to 10ft, though the wind stays light. Again, expert territory.
We settle down into the following week. Monday the 20th is still solid at 6ft from the S, but the wind turns cross-onshore and it gets a bit choppy. Tuesday the 21st is cleaner, with 4ft and a nice cross-offshore breeze – that’s a good, fun size for intermediates, with moderate energy. Probably your best bet after the giant weekend.
After that, the swell tapers off quickly into tiny, weak waves from the 22nd through to the 26th, with just a few clean but knee-high options.
So, to wrap it up: the first week is mostly flat or poor. The real action is on the 18th and 19th but only for the brave. Tuesday the 21st is your best all-rounder for a clean, manageable session.
Take it easy,
Rusty
