Table - best surf conditions forecast for Dee Dees over the next 16 days.
Alright, this is Rusty, and here’s the outlook for Dee Dees in feet and miles per hour.
It’s a bit of a slow start, no doubt. The first week is mostly a dud. The first real chance for a wave doesn’t come until Sunday, July 12th. The morning has a light NNE cross-off breeze and a 3ft swell from the SSW, with a period of 13 seconds. That’s a nice long groundswell. The afternoon gets even better, glassy, with a 3ft SSW swell. The water temp is about normal for this time of year at 55°F.
Then we get a rough patch. Tuesday through to Friday that week are all strong, messy winds from the NW and small, weak swell. Not worth it.
The real standout is Saturday, July 18th. The morning is clean with a light ESE cross-off wind and a 3ft swell from the SE, period of 14 seconds. The energy is moderate. It’s going to be a fun, clean session.
But the big one is coming. On Wednesday, July 22nd, it’s a beast for the experts. The morning has a 7ft SSW swell with a 14-second period, light NE winds, and strong wave energy. The afternoon is even better, with a 7ft S swell, 13-second period, and a gentle offshore from the ENE. The energy is very strong. This is a serious swell, too big for beginners, and the long period will make it powerful. For a reef, it’s a dream, but it’s for the experienced crew only.
The window to pick is the clean, smaller Saturday the 18th for a good time, and the big, powerful Wednesday the 22nd for the experts. The 22nd is the one to watch, but it’s a long way out.
Rusty.
