Table - best surf conditions forecast for Dee Dees over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here with the lowdown on Dee Dee’s for the next couple of weeks.
Water’s sitting about 54°F – right where it should be for this time of year, no weirdness there. The next few days are mostly a bust. Sunday afternoon the 12th shows 3ft SSW groundswell with clean conditions and a light northerly breeze, but the energy’s weak at 266, so you’ll be working for every little bit. If you’re jonesing for a wave, that’s your only shot for a while.
Then we hit a rough patch. Monday the 13th through Wednesday the 15th is just flat and messy – tiny waves, cross-shore winds, short periods, nothing worth a second look. That’s about three days of nothing.
Thursday morning the 16th gives you a glassy little 1.0ft SSW bump, but the energy’s just 73 – barely a ripple. Not worth suiting up.
Friday morning the 17th is where things perk up. We’ve got a 2ft ESE groundswell with a long 15-second period – that’s real groundswell. Light cross-off wind from the NNE means Dee Dee’s will be clean. The combined energy is 250, not huge, but the wave shape should be there. Dee Dee’s is a reef, so that long period will wrap in sweet. Just know crowds are possible here, so get out early if you can.
Saturday the 18th is a windy, lumpy mess – stay home.
Now for the meat. From Sunday the 19th through Tuesday the 21st we get some serious size. Sunday morning the 19th has 8ft SSW swell at a super long 17 seconds, with light northerly winds and clean conditions. But at over 8ft, that’s expert-only territory – heavy, powerful, combined energy of 3644. Sunday afternoon holds at 7ft but with more cross-wind, so it’s a bit lumpy.
Monday the 20th stays solid around 7ft to 7ft SSW swell, but winds are onshore or cross-onshore, so it’s messy. Size is there, quality not so much.
Tuesday the 21st morning is the real standout. We’ve got a clean 7ft south swell, 16-second period, with offshore wind from the NE. That’s perfect for Dee Dee’s – glassy, powerful, with combined energy at 2097. The swell direction matches what this reef loves. For the experienced surfer, this is the session to circle. The afternoon still holds at 6ft with light cross-off winds – still excellent.
Wednesday the 22nd drops to a more mellow 4ft, glassy in the morning, but onshore wind messes up the arvo. Thursday the 23rd and Friday the 24th are blown out with strong winds and rain – no good.
Then Saturday the 25th throws up a massive 13ft SSW swell. That’s huge, but with a short 8-second period, it’s gonna be a close-out mess – definitely too big for paddle surfing, maybe a kite session instead.
The last few days from the 26th onward just fade into tiny, weak surf.
So here’s the takeaway: Friday the 17th morning is a clean, small-wave option that’s worth a paddle. But Tuesday the 21st morning is the one – big, clean, offshore, and pumping. That’s the session for the big dogs.
