Surf Forecasts:
The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's not beat around the bush. I've combed through the charts for the next couple of weeks, and I've got some tough news: it's looking flat as a millpond out there. There are no good surf options on the horizon for the entire 16-day window. Not a single wave with any meaningful size or energy is forecast to show up. The swell energy is at zero, and the guidance is just a string of "poor surf conditions." It’s a bleak outlook, I won’t sugarcoat it.
We are looking at a long stretch of nothing. From Wednesday the 5th all the way through to Thursday the 20th, the surf report is a ghost town. There are no waves to ride, no bumps on the horizon, just clean, empty water. The wind will be all over the place, sometimes offshore and clean, but with no swell to push, it’s just a pretty, empty ocean. If you're a kiter, maybe this is your time, because for us paddle surfers, there’s not a single wave to be had.
Bay City is the only spot in the data, an exposed NE break that’s usually inconsistent. It's not living up to its name right now. The whole period is a blank run, which, for this area, is more normal than you'd think. We get these stretches where the ocean just goes to sleep. It tends not to stay poor for long, so don’t lose hope. Forecasts can and do change, so keep your eyes peeled for a late update.
But as it stands, save your wax and your energy. It’s a good week to fix those dings or get some yard work done. I’ll be watching the charts, hoping for a pulse.
Stay salty,
Rusty
