Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a good honest look at what’s on the table for Almanarre. Gotta be straight with you—this is a quiet spell. The whole 16-day window’s a long grind of tiny, weak stuff. For most of the first week, we’re talking knee-high slop at best, with a combined energy barely tickling the meter (8). The water is sitting at 75°, which is way warmer than normal for this time of year, so at least you won’t need a thick suit. But the swell is just not there. Monday the 6th kicks off with 1ft from the SW at a short 5 seconds—clean enough with a light cross-off breeze, but that’s about all you can say for it. Tuesday and Wednesday stay similar: small, weak, and unexciting.
We hit a proper dead zone from Thursday the 10th through to the end of the second week. For days on end, the forecast shows zero swell or waves barely worth the walk to the water. A few little 0.7ft to 1.0ft bumps pop up around the 13th to 16th, but with periods of 2 to 4 seconds, you’re just bobbing around. There’s one glassy morning on Tuesday 14th with a 0.7ft glassy surface, but honestly, that's a paddle float, not a surf.
Now, things finally stir at the tail end. On Monday 20th July, the swell jumps to 6ft from the W with a period of 7 seconds. The combined energy reads a strong 520—that’s real juice. But the wind is a gentle cross-onshore and the setup is a beach-and-reef, so this one’s going to be messy. It’s surfable but it’s more of a kite-surfing kind of day than a clean paddle session. Tuesday 21st morning is the only real highlight in the whole outlook: 4ft from the W at 6 seconds, with a clean offshore breeze from the ENE. The energy is moderate (119), and with that wind setup, Almanarre will be clean and rideable. That’s the one to aim for. After that, it drops back down again with ordinary conditions.
So, if you’re after a paddle, circle Tuesday 21st July morning. It’s not a classic, but it’s the only window with a little life and clean lines. The rest is flat or blown out. Stay patient, mates.
