Table - best surf conditions forecast for Almanarre over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's on the table for the next couple of weeks.
Honestly, I gotta be straight with you – it's a pretty grim start. We're looking at over a week of flat, clean conditions with no real swell to speak of. The water temperature is about normal for this time of year, but that's about the only thing that's normal. For days on end, we’ve got glassy mornings and offshore breezes, but with zero energy hitting the coast. It’s a real tease. The combined wave energy sits at 0 for most of that, so don't even bother with the paddle out. This stretch runs from now until the 21st of July.
We finally get a pulse of life on the 22nd of July. A small, short-period swell (6 seconds) from the West pushes in, with heights around 4ft. The combined energy is moderate at 105, and conditions are glassy first thing. It's surfable, but very ordinary. Not a standout, just a sign that the ocean is still breathing.
The real highlight, the one you want to circle on your calendar, is the morning of the 23rd of July. The swell bumps up a bit to 5ft from the West, still with that short 6-second period, but the energy jumps to a solid 253 (moderate). The wind is forecast to be glassy – dead calm – which is a massive positive. This will be the cleanest surf of the whole period. It's not a big swell, so it's good for all levels, but the quality will be there. The break is Almanarre, which is an exposed, beginner-friendly spot. It’s inconsistent by nature, so don't expect a wave every minute, but when it comes, it’ll be a clean little wedge. Crowds are possible here, especially on a clear morning like that.
After that morning, it fades fast. The 23rd afternoon goes flat again, and we're back into tiny, weak waves for the rest of the forecast window. The 26th and 27th offer a little bump, but it's messy and weak, with combined energy in the teens and 30s. Not worth getting excited about.
So, the call is simple: if you want the best of a very average run, be at Almanarre on the morning of the 23rd of July. That's your one true standout.
Rusty.
