Table - best surf conditions forecast for Almanarre over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here again. Let's talk about the next couple of weeks at Almanarre, in feet and miles per hour.
It's looking a bit grim out there for the first ten days. We're talking a whole lot of flat spells, with tiny, unrideable waves. The water's sitting at a warm 77°, which is much warmer than normal for this time of year. Good for a swim, bad for a surf.
The first real sign of life doesn't show up until Sunday morning, July 19th. We finally get a pulse of swell, about 4 feet from the West with a short 6-second period. The energy is still pretty weak, but the morning is dead glassy. You'll get a few waves, but it's very ordinary stuff.
The afternoon of the 19th builds a little to about 5 feet from the West, with a cross-off breeze out of the ESE at 12 mph that cleans it up. It has a bit more push, but it's still not great.
Your next real chance is Monday morning, July 20th. Similar story – around 4 feet of West swell with a 6-second period, and a light cross-off breeze from the ENE. Clean, but unexciting. The wind cranks up in the afternoon and kills it.
After a couple of days with howling onshore winds that'll make a mess of things, we get one more look. Wednesday morning, July 22nd, has a 4-foot swell from the WNW, but it's getting hammered by a 25 mph onshore. Forget it. The afternoon has a bit more size at 5 feet, but the same strong onshore wind.
Honestly, the only chance for a patient soul is maybe the Sunday and Monday mornings. The conditions are just barely surfable, but there's no standout to get excited about. The rest of the period is a bust—the decent swell with strong winds makes it look more like a kiteboarding spot than a surf spot.
Rusty.
