The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here again. Let’s call it like it is for Vouliagmeni over the next 16 days—there’s just no surf to speak of. The whole forecast is filled with flat waves or no waves at all, and “poor surf conditions” is the theme.
From the start, Monday July 27th morning, we get a teeny 0.2m southerly swell with a 3-second period and weak energy (1). Wind is cross-off from the WNW at 6 mph, so it’s clean, but it’s flat. After that, nothing. Tuesday July 28th morning is glassy but flat, then a 0.2m easterly swell in the afternoon with calm wind—still flat.
From Wednesday July 29th onward, offshore winds kick in many days—strong ones too, like 28 mph from the NNE on Thursday July 30th—but without any swell, it’s just clean and empty. The water is 27°, much warmer than usual for the time of year by about 4°, but that doesn’t help the waves.
Vouliagmeni is an inconsistent beginner spot, and this run is a dud. The second week stays clear and windy offshore, but with zero swell. For a paddle surfer, it’s a total bust—though those strong offshore winds might get kite surfers interested. There’s nothing to recommend here, I’m afraid.
