From the 20th of August all the way through to the 4th of September, the wave energy sits at zero across every single session. That’s a solid two-week-plus flat spell. The water temperature is sitting at 79°, which is a touch above the long-term average for this time of year – nothing crazy, just a nice warm bath for a swim.
The only spot on the map is Vouliagmeni. It’s an exposed, inconsistent beginner wave that rarely gets going, and this stretch is a textbook example of a dry run. Winds look clean with plenty of offshore and glassy mornings, but with no swell to work with, that’s irrelevant. The S direction is the optimum swell direction here, but there’s simply nothing coming.
It’s a tough outlook. This area can go blank for stretches, and this is one of those times. Don’t bother paddling out – save the energy for a surf check in a week or two. Things can change.
