The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Gotta be straight with you – the outlook for Vouliagmeni over the next 16 days is a real struggle. We're looking at a massive blank run with absolutely no swell to speak of for the first 12 days. From Sunday, September 6th right through to Thursday, September 17th, there's just nothing in the water; the combined energy is a flat zero (0). It's a tough stretch for any paddle surfer.
The water temp is sitting at 80.1°, which is a solid 4.5° warmer than usual for this time of year, so it feels like a bath, but that's about the only positive.
Now, it's not all a total write-off. On the 18th of September, we finally see a whisper of life. Friday morning at Vouliagmeni, a tiny 0.7ft swell from the south shows up with a short period, but the winds are a clean offshore from the north. The combined energy is still weak (2). It's barely surfable, but it's something. The afternoon sees a slightly better 1ft bump from the SSW, but the wind shifts to a cross-offshore. Still, the energy is only (5). It's a beginner-friendly ankle-snapper at best, and the break is already inconsistent, so you'll be sitting waiting a lot.
Saturday the 19th offers a similar story: a 1ft south swell with a short period and an offshore wind in the morning, energy at (3). The afternoon drops to 0.7ft and the energy falls right off to (1).
The very end of the outlook, Sunday the 20th and Monday the 21st, sees the swell disappear again completely. So, your only real window, and I use that term loosely, is the 18th and 19th of September. There's nothing to get excited about. For a spot that's often inconsistent, this is a pretty normal dry spell. The offshore winds we get are perfect for kiting, and with waves this small and weak, the setup honestly looks more interesting for kite surfing than trying to paddle a toothpick. Don't hold your breath.
Short Range ForecastMostly dry. Warm (max 33°C on Sun afternoon, min 23°C on Tue night). Winds increasing (calm on Sun afternoon, fresh winds from the NE by Mon afternoon). | Days 4-6 Weather SummaryMostly dry. Warm (max 30°C on Wed afternoon, min 23°C on Wed morning). Wind will be generally light. | ||||||||||||||||||||
