The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what Vouliagmeni's got cookin' over the next couple of weeks.
Alright folks, I'll be straight with you – this is a tough one. Looking at the whole 16-day window, from the 15th of August right through to the 30th, the swell machine is just not kicking in for Vouliagmeni. We are staring down the barrel of a long, flat spell. There's no real surf to get excited about; the wave energy is stuck at zero for nearly every single session. You're looking at a solid two-week gap where a surfboard is pretty much just a paddleboard.
There's a tiny blip on Tuesday the 25th of August with a little 0.7ft bump from the south, but with a period of just 4 seconds, that's pure wind-chop with barely any energy. That's not worth wetting a wetsuit for. The rest of the time, the water is just flat or showing a dash of weak windswell that never really gets going. The winds are often offshore or glassy, which is a shame because the conditions would be lovely if there was any swell to ride.
For the rare bits of motion on the 17th and 18th of August, you're looking at a tiny 0.7ft to 1.0ft south swell. It's weak, short-period stuff (2 to 4 seconds) with barely any energy, and it's blown out by onshore winds in the afternoons. Inconsistent is the name of the game here, and this spot is already known for being inconsistent. For a beginner spot, it's just not worth the trip.
Honestly, this is one of those blank runs that can happen. It tends not to stay this poor forever, but for now, the forecast is what it is. Save the gas money.
