Right then, mate. Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s on offer for the next couple of weeks. Gotta be straight with you – it’s a flat spell and a long one at that. There’s a solid gap of over two weeks with absolutely nothing doing. The first hint of any wave energy doesn’t show up until Thursday the 23rd of July, and even then, it’s barely a whisper.

From this Thursday morning, the 9th of July, right through to the 22nd, you’re looking at a big fat zero. The water’s sitting around 77°F, which is about 2°F warmer than usual for this time of year, so it's warm but a bit stagnant.

Alright, let’s talk about the only glimmer of hope. On Thursday the 23rd of July, Vouliagmeni might just see a tiny pulse. We’re talking a weak, S swell pushing through at about 0.3ft, with a period of 6 seconds. That’s short-period windswell, not much push behind it. The combined energy of all swells directed here is just 1, so it’s really weak. The morning has a light cross-offshore breeze from the NW at 12 mph, which will keep the surface clean, and by the afternoon, the wind swings light offshore from the NNE at 6 mph. It’s a beginner spot for a reason – that little bump might be enough for a foamie if you’re desperate, but don’t expect a proper wave.

The real problem is that this break is rated as inconsistent and it rarely breaks. Even with a clean surface and a light offshore, 0.3ft isn’t going to produce anything rideable for most. The crowds are noted as ‘often’, which is a laugh – they’ll all be sitting out there waiting for a ripple.

Honestly, mate, this is a poor outlook. The only swell on the charts is too small and too weak to recommend. If you’re a kiter, the clear skies and fresh breezes in the second half of the window might be more interesting than trying to surf this. But for paddle surfing, you’re better off waiting for the next system to roll in. Forecasts can change, but right now, it’s a blank run.

Rusty.
