Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's on the cards for our local patch.
To be straight with you, the whole 16-day window is looking like a flat spell for Vouliagmeni. There's a big, long gap of nothing with no surf to ride at all from the start of the outlook right through until the very end. It’s a tough run, plain and simple.
Water temp is sitting at 78°, which is about average for this time of year, so don't expect any surprises there. The main issue is we just aren't getting any swell energy pushing in. Every day shows a combined energy of (0), which is just dead flat.
Even the wind is often clean—offshore or glassy conditions are popping up plenty—but without any waves to work with, it’s just a sad sight for a surfer. You’ll see some light breezes and clean water over the weekend of the 18th and 19th, but it’s just a lake out there.
There is literally one tiny blip right at the very end, on the afternoon of Monday the 24th of August. A tiny bit of swell might show up: 1.0ft from the south with a period of only 2 seconds. That’s just wind chop, and the energy is (1) – barely a ripple. The wind is onshore, so it'll be messy anyway. There’s nothing to get excited about.
So, no standout options. Not even one worth paddling out for. Vouliagmeni is an inconsistent beginner spot at the best of times, and this is one of those blank runs that just happens. The forecast can always change, but right now, you might as well leave the board in the car and go for a swim.
