The Lowdown
Alright, I’m looking at this outlook for the next couple of weeks and, well, it’s a tough one. I’ve got to be straight with you – the surf is pretty much non-existent for the entire run. There’s a massive gap of quiet water here.
Vouliagmeni has nothing on offer from now all the way through the 16-day window. The first time we see any measurable energy is on the morning of 22 July, and even then, it’s only a tiny 0.7ft swell from the south with a short period of 4 seconds. The combined wave energy is next to nothing (2). That’s barely a bump, let alone a wave you can ride. The water temp is running notably warm, sitting at 79°F, which is a strong 4°F warmer than average for this time of year, but with no surf, that’s just trivia.
The rest of the days – and I mean all of them from 16 July right through to 31 July – show absolutely zero wave energy. You’ll get clean, clear skies and offshore winds for many mornings, especially with that northerly breeze, but without any swell pushing in, it’s just flat. Even when conditions look glassy, like on the morning of 20 July and 21 July, there’s nothing to surf.
Normally around here, a long flat spell isn’t that unusual, but this is a total blank. No standout days. No hidden gems. If you’re desperate to get wet, this setup is more interesting for a kite or a foil than a paddle board, because the wind is reliable but the waves are not. Keep an eye on the charts further out – forecasts can change, but right now, there’s nothing for us.
