Table - best surf conditions forecast for Trigg Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright, this is Rusty. Let’s have a look at what’s coming up for Trigg Beach.
Overall, this stretch of coast is set to deliver some solid moments, but you’ve got to pick your windows. The first few days are a bit average with a lot of cross-shore wind and marginal conditions, but the pattern builds towards some real gems later on, especially for the more experienced crew. The water temp is about average for this time of year, nothing wild going on there.
We kick off on Friday the 10th of July. Honestly, not great. We’ve got a 5ft WSW swell at 13 seconds, but the wind is a cross-shore, and the combined energy is moderate (878). It’s marginal, a bit of a bumpy mess. Saturday the 11th looks cleaner in the morning with a light cross-offshore breeze and a 4ft SW swell, but it’s pretty small. The afternoon fades again.
Now, Sunday the 12th of July is where it starts to get interesting. The morning offers a clean 7ft SW swell with a 15-second period and a light cross-offshore breeze. The combined energy is strong (1812). This is a good one for intermediate to experienced surfers – the longer period means the waves will have some punch, but it’s not too crazy. The afternoon turns a bit lumpy again.
The standout for the first week is Monday the 13th of July. Morning session: 7ft of SW groundswell at 17 seconds, with clean offshore winds from the ESE. The combined energy is very strong (2797). This is excellent for experienced surfers. The long period will give you some proper lines, especially if you can find a bank that holds together. Tuesday the 14th also has a good afternoon with a 7ft WSW swell and clean conditions, a solid option.
We hit a bit of a rough patch from Wednesday the 15th through to Friday the 17th. The wind gets messy, with some onshore and cross-onshore winds, and the swell quality drops right off. Friday the 17th is a write-off with strong onshore wind and rain. Just skip it.
Here’s the big one for the longer range. Saturday the 18th of July. The forecast shows a massive 13ft WSW swell, but the guidance says it’s simply too big for this break. Unless you’re a very experienced charger and the tide is right, this is more of a spectator event. The energy is extreme (7529). For most, it’s a no-go.
Sunday the 19th of July is a beauty. The swell drops to a still-sizeable 10ft from the WSW, but the wind is offshore in the morning, and then by the afternoon it goes completely glassy. The 8ft afternoon swell with zero wind is a dream scenario for the experienced surfer. The energy is still strong (1859). This is the pick of the entire forecast.
The following week settles down. Monday the 20th and Tuesday the 21st of July see smaller, cleaner swells in the 4ft to 5ft range, with glassy conditions. Great for a fun, easy paddle on a longboard or a mid-length. Wednesday the 22nd of July morning offers a punchy 7ft WSW swell at 16 seconds with offshore wind, another strong option for the experienced crew. The last few days into the 25th of July keep the trend of clean, fun-sized swell with some excellent long-period energy on the final morning.
So, the true standouts are Monday the 13th and Sunday the 19th of July. The 13th for the powerful, clean groundswell, and the 19th for the epic afternoon glass-off on a solid swell. Get on it.
Rusty.
