Table - best surf conditions forecast for Trigg Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright, this is Rusty, and I'm looking straight at what we've got coming down the pipe for Trigg Beach.
Alright, listen up, Trigg is our only option on the table for this whole stretch, and it's a bit of a mixed bag. We've got some solid swell windows, but the wind's going to be the real story. Water temp is sitting at 65°, which is a bit colder than usual for this time of year.
The first real chance to get wet that’s worth talking about kicks off on Wednesday the 8th of July. It’s not perfect, but there's a 5ft swell from the WSW with a solid 15-second period pushing through. The wind is light and cross from the north in the morning, so it'll be a little lumpy. The energy is strong, coming in at (2128), but the conditions are only just okay.
Thursday the 9th is where it starts to get interesting. Early morning, we’ve got a clean 8ft swell from the WSW, 15-second period, and a light cross-offshore breeze from the north. That’s going to set up some nice lines (2322 energy). This is the standout session for the more experienced crew. The afternoon is a write-off with rain and onshore wind.
Friday the 10th morning is clean again with a morning offshore from the SSE and a 5ft swell (781 energy). It's smaller, but the conditions will be smooth. Saturday the 11th morning pulls in some proper offshore wind from the east, only 4ft but glassy clean.
Now, Sunday the 12th and Monday the 13th are looking like the heart of the run. Sunday morning has a 5ft SW groundswell with a 14-second period and light easterly offshore winds—clean and punchy (1589 energy). Monday the 13th morning is even bigger, with a 7ft SW swell and a 17-second period, which is a very long period groundswell. That'll be barreling down the point, but at that size it's for experienced surfers only. The energy is full on (2655).
Tuesday the 14th is the absolute gem. Both morning and afternoon have a clean 7ft WSW swell with a 15-second period and a solid offshore wind from the east. That is the full package—clean faces, good power, and the wind holding all day (2050 energy). That's your best bet for a proper session.
We then hit a bit of a dry spell from Wednesday the 15th through the weekend. The winds go onshore and messy, dropping the quality right out.
Then, on Saturday the 18th of July, things get wild. We’ve got a massive 12ft WSW swell rolling in with an 18-second period. The energy is off the charts (7945). The wind is light, even glassy in the afternoon. But that wave height is way too big for Trigg—this is for experts only, and honestly, it might be too much for a paddle. That kind of setup looks more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing. The Sunday after that still has a solid 8ft with a strong offshore, but the wind is a fresh 30 km/h breeze, making it a battle.
The final week tails off into smaller, wind-affected slop. Not worth getting excited about.
So to wrap it up: the standout is Tuesday the 14th of July. Go for the morning session at Trigg. The next best is Sunday the 12th or Monday the 13th mornings. Everything else is either just okay or blown out.
Rusty.
