Table - best surf conditions forecast for Trigg Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what Trigg Beach has in store for us over the coming weeks.
We’ve got some solid groundswell on the horizon, but it ain’t all sunshine and barrels. There’s a definite pattern here: the first few days are worth a paddle, then we hit a few days of messy afternoon winds before things get properly thumping. But watch out—by the second week, the swell gets big. Real big. That’s expert territory only.
Thursday morning, 9 July, kicks things off with a clean 8ft WSW groundswell at a very long 15 seconds. The energy is pumping at 2354, and with a light NNE cross-off breeze, Trigg is gonna look clean and lined up. This one’s for the experienced crew—it’s solid, powerful, and those long-period sets will stand up nicely at the point. A standout for sure.
Friday morning, 10 July, the swell drops to a more manageable 5ft from the SW, but the period is still a healthy 13 seconds. Moderate energy at 824, and with a light SSE cross-off, it’ll be clean again. Good for intermediates and a fun, workable wave.
Saturday morning, 11 July, is smaller—4ft SW at 13 seconds, 489 energy—but that light ESE cross-off will make it glassy and clean. Not a standout, but a decent option for a quiet, easy session.
Now Sunday the 12th through Tuesday the 14th is the real sweet spot. Sunday morning has a clean 6ft SW swell with a 15-second period and an offshore ESE breeze. Energy is high at 1752—this is excellent, clean surf for experienced surfers. The weather stays clear. Move into Monday the 13th: a powerful 7ft SW groundswell with a very long 17-second period, and clean east offshore wind. Energy is massive at 2486. Best of the bunch? Could be. Then Tuesday the 14th keeps it going with a 7ft WSW swell, 15 seconds, and a clean moderate ENE offshore. The point will be handling these long-period swells well but watch for it breaking a bit straight on the beach—stick to the point or reef sections for the best shape.
Wednesday the 15th is a write-off—cross-shore winds and messy conditions. A break in the action.
Thursday the 16th to Friday the 17th offers some clean morning windows but with onshore or cross-shore afternoons and gusty wind. Swell stays around the 7ft mark but the quality is average.
Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th… whoa. Swell jumps to 10ft, then 12ft, then 15ft with a 16-second period and energy over 9690. That’s huge. For Trigg, that’s too big for all but the most experienced. The wind is favourable (offshore/cross-off), but this is purely for big-wave chargers. Beginners and intermediates, stay out of the water.
Monday the 20th brings it back down to a solid 8ft from the WSW at 13 seconds, with a gentle offshore breeze. Clean. Excellent for experienced surfers again.
Tuesday the 21st sees a smaller 7ft WSW swell, but the period drops to 11 seconds. Still clean in the morning with a light cross-off. Not the best, but workable.
Wednesday the 22nd is back to marginal conditions with cross-shore or cross-onshore wind. Not one to get excited about.
Finally, Thursday the 23rd and Friday the 24th close things out with cleaner mornings. Thursday morning has a clean 6ft SW swell, 14 seconds, and a light cross-off. Friday the 24th is the last call: a tiny 4ft SW swell but with an offshore ENE breeze and clean conditions. A tiny window for a longboard or foiler.
All in all, the standout windows are Thursday 9 July morning and Monday 13 July through Tuesday 14 July for the best combination of size, power, and clean wind. The 18th–19th is for experts only. Keep your eyes on the forecast.
Rusty out.
