Table - best surf conditions forecast for Trigg Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here, and I've been poring over the charts for the local stretch.
Alright folks, let's look at what’s coming down the pipe for Trigg Beach. The first real sniff of action we get is Monday the 13th. Sunday the 12th is a bit of a write-off, so we have a gap of one day before things start to get interesting.
Monday morning the 13th is looking like a real standout. We've got a solid 8 ft groundswell from the southwest, pushing a ton of energy (2971), and it's coming with a crisp ESE offshore breeze. That’s a clean, powerful look for Trigg. The period is a long 17 seconds, which means those waves will have some serious grunt and shape. This is a session for the experienced crew though – that size and power isn't messing around. The water is sitting at 64°, which is a solid 3° colder than usual for this time of year, so you’ll want a good steamer.
The morning session on Tuesday the 14th is pretty darn good too, with a 7 ft WSW swell and clean cross-off winds from the ENE (1655). But honestly, that Monday morning is the pick of the first week. The afternoon on Tuesday is also a nice option with similar swell and a proper offshore breeze (ENE), making for some clean faces.
Now, the end of the week goes a bit pear-shaped. From late Thursday the 16th through the weekend and into the start of the next week, a strong westerly wind change moves in, absolutely nuking the quality. We see onshore winds and some serious size, with swell hitting 15 ft on Saturday the 18th and energy readings over 11000 – that’s just a washing machine for Trigg. The setup there looks more like a kite surfer's dream than a paddle surfer's session during that wind.
Looking further out, we get a nice window again. Wednesday morning the 22nd is clean again with a tiny 6 ft swell from the WSW and glassy ENE cross-off winds (1006). It’s not huge, but it’ll be clean and user-friendly.
The real potential for the second week, though, is Thursday the 23rd. The swell is forecast to be a massive 12 ft from the SW, but the wind will be messy. It’s flagged as potentially too big for Trigg, so that’s one for the hardcore big-wave hunters only.
Then, Friday the 24th morning offers a solid 8 ft WSW groundswell (3156) with a light SSE cross-off breeze. That’s clean and powerful, another good one for the experienced guys. And to close things out, Saturday the 26th morning looks like a fun, smaller day, with a clean 5 ft from the SW and a light E offshore. A good one for the mixed ability crew to get back out after the big winds.
So, to sum it up: mark your calendars for Monday morning the 13th – that’s your top-tier, clean, powerful session. If you miss that, Friday the 24th morning is your long-range backup plan, but keep an eye on it.
Rusty.
