The Lowdown

Alright, grab a coffee and listen up, this is Rusty.

To be honest, mate, it’s a pretty flat run for the next couple of weeks. We’ve got a solid gap of nothing worth paddling out for right from the start. You’re looking at a stretch of days where the surf is just too weak to get excited about.

Looking at the only real option on the table, 13th Street. This spot is an advanced wave that is inconsistent, which means it doesn't work often. The water temp here is about average for this time of year. The best chance we see in the whole forecast is on the morning of Friday the 7th of August. That morning, we get a tiny 2ft swell from the SSW with a very long 19-second period, which is a true groundswell. The combined energy is only in the moderate range (300), so it’s not packing a punch, but that long period will give it some shape. It’s also glassy with a light breeze, so it’ll be clean. For an inconsistent spot, this is the standout, but honestly, it's still pretty marginal.

After that little flicker on Friday morning, it drops straight back into poor conditions. The rest of the week and into the second week is a dead zone of tiny, weak swells under 3ft. The energy readings are consistently weak to moderate (91 to 427), and the wind is either onshore or cross-onshore, adding to the chop. There’s nothing else worth highlighting. This break simply doesn't have the goods for a proper surf during this period.

Rusty.
