Right then, saddle up, 'cause I've looked at what's on the table for Roc San Cayetano over the next couple of weeks and, well, it's a proper quiet spell. This is a point break that's known for being a bit of a ghost – it "rarely breaks" – and this forecast is backing that up in a big way. We're looking at a solid gap of days with pretty much nothing to shout about. The first recommendation to even get a board wet doesn't come until Saturday, 11 July, which is a long, flat stretch from now.
That Saturday morning, 11 July, we finally see a tiny pulse of swell creep in. It's not going to get the heart racing – only 2 ft from the ESE, with a very short period of 4 seconds. That's windswell, not groundswell, so it'll be weak and mushy. The combined energy is a measly (11), which is about as weak as it gets. The saving grace is the wind; it's a light cross-offshore breeze from the NE at 6 mph, keeping the surface clean. It's a glimmer, but for a spot that rarely breaks, you'd want more than this to make the trek worthwhile.
The rest of the window is a barren wasteland for surf. There are tiny little bumps on the 12th, 13th, 14th, and a few other mornings where the swell is under 2 ft, the period is short, and the energy figures are in single digits or low teens. All of them are marked "poor surf conditions." On the 16th and 20th, there are similar weak pulses, but again, nothing that grabs you. For a break that's already a rarity, this is a classic "leave the board at home" period.
Honestly, for Roc San Cayetano, this is a pretty normal run of things – it tends not to stay poor for long, but when it's off, it's really off. The only day that even whispers "maybe" is that Saturday morning, 11 July, but even then, it's a whisper.
