Table - best surf conditions forecast for Namotu Lefts over the next 16 days.
G’day, Rusty here. Let’s talk surf at Namotu Lefts for the next couple weeks.
We’ve got plenty of swell coming, but the wind’s gonna mess things up a fair bit. A few solid standouts, though, where everything lines up.
Starting Saturday the 11th, it’s rough. Morning sees 8ft SSW groundswell with a 15-second period, but it’s cross-shore with a light breeze. The waves are there, but the quality is marginal. The arvo gets worse—onshore wind kicks up, swell hits 8ft, and it’s a total bust.
Sunday the 12th is better. Swell drops to a cleaner 6ft from the SSW, period at 12 seconds. Wind goes cross-offshore, light, and it’s clean. This is your first good window—moderate wave energy (1461) and experienced surfers will have a ball. The arvo gets choppy again, so hit it early.
Monday the 13th, swell drops to 3ft in the morning, but the period stretches to 18 seconds—proper long groundswell. Cross-shore breeze, weak energy (948). Not worth it. The arvo picks up to 5ft, but fresh cross-shore wind makes it lumpy.
Tuesday the 14th is a total washout: fresh cross-shore winds, 3ft swell, poor conditions.
Wednesday the 15th stays small, 5ft but with a short 8-second period. Cross-off wind keeps it clean, but there’s no punch. Energy is low (443). Thursday the 16th arvo gives a glimpse: 6ft swell from the SE, short period again, but light cross-off wind and clean, energy at 832.
Friday the 17th is where it gets cooking. Morning has 3ft SSW groundswell, 17-second period, light cross-off breeze, clean, energy at 744. The arvo is even better: 3ft with a true offshore from the NNE, light breeze, glassy. This is a standout—clean, lined-up reef waves. Saturday the 18th is another gem: 4ft SW swell, 16-second period, cross-off in the morning, offshore in the arvo, energy around 713–746.
Sunday the 19th is blown out with strong winds up to 28 mph and rain. Skip it.
Monday the 20th into the next week sees big swell: 5ft to 7ft from the SSW and S, with mod to fresh onshore winds. Energy hits the thousands (1618 to 3122), but it’s all cross-onshore and choppy. Powerful but messy.
By Thursday the 23rd, swell fades, and conditions stay poor. Friday the 24th offers a small clean window: 3ft SSE groundswell with a gentle cross-off breeze, but energy is low (275). Saturday the 25th is tiny.
Looking way out to Sunday the 26th—that’s the 26th of July—we get a pulse of 6ft SSW groundswell at 17 seconds, with gentle cross-shore wind, energy at 2130. It’s a long-range possibility.
The real standouts are Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th. Friday arvo with that offshore breeze and clean 3ft SSW swell is prime. Saturday continues with another day of clean 4ft SW groundswell and offshore wind in the arvo. Those are your best bets.
Water temp is average for the season, nothing unusual.
Rusty out.
