Table - best surf conditions forecast for Nahr Brahim over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s take a look at what we’ve got coming down the pipe for Nahr Brahim. Gotta be straight with you – it’s looking pretty grim. This is a river mouth setup that rarely breaks, so when it’s flat or junk, well, that’s just the way it often goes around here.
We’re kicking off on Wednesday the 8th of July, and right away you can see the problem. Swell is tiny, maybe 3 ft out of the west, with a short period of 6 seconds. The combined energy is weak (57). On top of that, we’ve got a moderate breeze from the southwest making it cross-onshore and choppy. The water temp is about average for this time of year, nothing wild going on there. Honestly, it’s poor conditions straight out of the gate and that theme just keeps on rolling.
Thursday the 9th is more of the same – 2 ft to 3 ft of west to west-southwest swell, periods still short. The wind is a little lighter but still cross-onshore, and the energy is weak (74). Not worth getting wet for.
Friday the 10th through to Tuesday the 15th of July, the swell drops even further, hovering between 1.0 ft and 2 ft. The combined energy is barely registering, often below 30. Winds stay light to gentle, sometimes going onshore, but there’s just no power in the water. You’d be floating out there waiting for nothing.
As we get into Wednesday the 15th, things flatten out even more. The swell is only 1.0 ft to 1 ft. The wave energy is almost non-existent. We see a tiny bump in energy on the 16th, but the swell height is still only 2 ft. It’s just not doing anything.
Then Friday the 17th of July, there’s a slight lift. Swell pushes back up to 3 ft to 3 ft from the west-southwest, with a period of 7 seconds. The combined energy climbs to 79 – still weak, but it’s the best we see in this whole window. Unfortunately, the wind remains cross-onshore from the southwest, so it’s going to be messy and choppy. Not something to get excited about.
From Saturday the 18th right through the end of the forecast on Thursday the 23rd of July, it’s back to the same story. Tiny swell, weak energy, and mostly cross-onshore breezes. Nothing here shapes up for a decent paddle.
Honestly, there are no standouts in this entire 16-day run. Not a single window where the swell, wind, and conditions line up. If you’re desperate, the best you could hope for is the afternoon of Friday the 17th, with that little bump in swell, but the onshore wind is going to chop it up. For a break that rarely breaks, this is just a blank run. It’s a tough stretch.
Rusty.
