Table - best surf conditions forecast for Le Porge over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's get straight into it. We're looking at a pretty lean run at Le Porge for the next 16 days. The pattern is clear: small, weak swell and unfriendly winds dominate the forecast, so don't be expecting much to get you out of bed.
The water is much warmer than normal for this time of year at 73°F for the first session mentioned, sitting about 5°F above average. That's a notable warmth.
Right from the start, it's a tough go. The first week is littered with small waves, most between 2ft and 3ft. The wind is mostly cross-onshore or onshore, with a few brief windows of cleaner conditions that are still tiny. The one little highlight, if you can call it that, is Sunday morning, the 12th. We get a clean, cross-offshore breeze from the SE at 9 mph making for some tidy-looking conditions on a 2ft swell. The combined energy is weak at 50, but it's the only real chance for a clean wave that isn't blown out or chopped up. Don't expect much push, but it's the pick of a very ordinary bunch.
Then there's a big gap. From that Sunday afternoon right through the following week and into the next, it's just poor surf conditions. The swell stays tiny, rarely scraping above 3ft, and the winds grow stronger and more onshore. The energy stays weak to moderate at best, with a brief blip to 132 on the 17th, but the wind is straight onshore at 12 mph, so it's a mess.
Looking further out into the second week, the pattern doesn't change. Winds kick up to 15-19 mph from the NNW and NW, with small cross-onshore or cross swell barely hitting 3ft. The period is short (6-8 seconds), so it's all windswell and chop. The surf is basically unsurfable throughout the entire period. For a break that's fairly consistent, this is a rare, blank stretch. It tends not to stay this flat for long, so forecasts can shift, but right now, there's simply nothing on offer. You'd be better off finding something else to do for the next two weeks.
Rusty.
