Table - best surf conditions forecast for Forte dei Marmi (Pontille) over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let me break down the next couple of weeks at Forte dei Marmi.
Honestly, it’s a rough forecast. We’ve got a long dry patch from now all the way through to the morning of Wednesday, July 23. No waves worth a damn. The water at Pontille is 78°, which is much warmer than usual for this time of year—great for a swim, but that’s about it.
The first real chance to surf is on the morning of Wednesday, July 23. A small southwest swell rolls in at about 4ft, with a short period of 7 seconds. The combined energy is a moderate 149, so it’ll push you around, but it’s not powerful. Winds are light and cross-offshore from the north-northeast at 6 mph, keeping the surface clean. It’s a surfable wave but nothing special. That afternoon the wind turns onshore, and the quality drops off fast.
Thursday morning, July 24, gives you another similar shot. A 4ft southwest swell, still short-period at 7 seconds, energy at 143. Light east breeze at 3 mph, cross-offshore, keeping it glassy. But again, it’s ordinary. The afternoon gets messy with light cross-onshore wind.
There’s no real standout here. The best bet is those two mornings—Wednesday the 23rd and Thursday the 24th—when you can at least get a few waves. Expect crowds at Pontille; it’s often busy. For now, it’s a waiting game. Things might change, but as it stands, we’ve got a long stretch of flatness with just two meager mornings to break it up.
This is Rusty, signing off.
