Table - best surf conditions forecast for Cabo Blanco over the next 16 days.
G’day, Rusty here. Let’s look at what’s going down around Cabo Blanco over the next couple of weeks.
First thing you’ll notice is the water temp — it’s a balmy 87°, which is about 4° warmer than usual for this time of year. That’s a big anomaly, so the ocean is feeling like a hot tub. No thick wetsuit needed.
The surf kicks off slowly. Saturday afternoon (11 July) is a waste — cross-on wind, messy, and the energy is moderate (765). Sunday morning (12 July) is a bit better but still light cross-shore. The first real green light is Monday morning (13 July): glassy wind, with a light offshore from the NE, and the swell is 3 ft from the SSW at 13 seconds. The energy is moderate (580), and it’s going to be clean and fun. That’s your first window.
Tuesday morning (14 July) is dead calm and glassy with 4 ft of SSW swell, period at 14 seconds — that’s a nice little groundswell pulse. The break faces SW, so it’s catching the best of it. Crowds pop up sometimes, but with those clean, glassy conditions, it’ll be worth it. The 14-second period gives you shape and energy, but the sets will be spaced out, so you’ve got time to recover.
The pattern holds through the week. Wednesday morning (15 July) is another glassy morning with 4 ft SSW swell. Thursday morning (16 July) and Friday morning (17 July) both have glassy conditions and similar size. Afternoons get stormy, but mornings are the ticket.
The standout in the first week is Monday morning (13 July) — glassy, clean, small but fun. But if you want a bigger call, look to Tuesday morning (21 July). That’s a week and a half out, so it’s not locked in, but it’s showing 4 ft of SSW swell at 14 seconds, with glassy conditions and a moderate energy rating (763). That’s the best combo on offer: a bit more size, clean, and the break is set up for it.
Saturday morning (25 July) is another one to circle — 3 ft from the SW but with a very long period of 21 seconds. That’s a proper groundswell, and with glassy wind, it’s going to be silky smooth. The energy is strong (832), so despite the modest height, there’s a lot of power. That’s a gem.
Sunday morning (26 July) is similar — 3 ft SW at 19 seconds, glassy, and strong energy (766). Two solid mornings to close out the 16-day window.
There’s no big swell here, nothing over 4 ft, so it’s all friendly for most surfers. The real highlights are the glassy windows with the longer-period SW groundswells in the second week. The first week is more about small, clean mornings. Beginners will be fine; experts will want the 21st or the 25th for the best quality.
Grab the mornings, and you’ll be smiling.
Rusty.
