Table - best surf conditions forecast for Cabo Blanco over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's get into it.
The big story over the next couple of weeks is a solid run of SSW groundswell at Cabo Blanco. It’s not all perfect, but there are some genuine standout windows where it all comes together. The swell energy is substantial, hitting a peak of 1091 (combined energy of all swells directed here) right out of the gates, which is a very strong pulse. The water temp anomaly is spot on for this time of year, so no surprises there.
Wednesday the 8th morning is the real highlight. We’ve got a punchy 5ft SSW swell running with a very long 16-second period. This is proper groundswell, and at a break like Cabo Blanco, which is exposed to the SW, that’ll translate to some serious, powerful lines. The kicker is the wind: dead calm, glassy conditions. That’s rare and it’s a major positive. This is the best on offer, but it’s also packing some punch. At 5ft with that energy and period, it’s a big day for confident surfers only. The afternoon on Wednesday fades as a cross-onshore wind messes things up, so the morning window is the key.
Thursday the 9th morning is the next good call. The swell drops a touch to 4ft, but that SSW direction holds with a 15-second period. Glassy again with a light NW breeze. The swell energy is still strong at 655. It’s clean, it’s lined up, and it should be a lot more manageable for a solid intermediate crew. Still a good, fun wave.
There’s then a bit of a lull, with Friday and the weekend offering smaller, less consistent surf. The mornings do stay clean, but the size drops, and the swell period shortens a little. Saturday the 11th has some hope with glassy conditions in the afternoon, but the 4ft swell doesn’t have the same grunt.
Coming back around, Monday the 14th morning is worth a mention. The swell builds back to 4ft with a cross-offshore breeze. Clean conditions and a more user-friendly wave than the first day.
Late in the outlook, Thursday the 23rd morning pops again. We get a resurgence of SSW swell to 5ft with a 12-second period and – you guessed it – dead calm, glassy conditions. This is another standout session for experienced surfers, with strong wave energy at 598. It’s a promising long-range call, though with that kind of lead time, keep an eye on it.
So, to sum it up: Wednesday the 8th morning is the one to circle. Big, clean, powerful groundswell. If that’s a bit too meaty, Thursday the 9th morning and the 23rd morning are your other premium slots. The rest of the time, it’s a mix of clean but small, or a bit choppy.
Rusty.
