Table - best surf conditions forecast for Cabo Blanco over the next 16 days.
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s talk about what’s coming our way.
There’s a consistent run of clean, quality surf on the cards from Cabo Blanco, starting Friday the 10th. This spot is exposed to the SW, and that’s exactly where our swell is coming from. The water temperature is sitting at 87°, which is much warmer than normal for this time of year—almost 4° above average, so it’s a proper warm bath out there this July.
The pick of the whole window is Saturday the 11th, first light. The swell hangs in at 4ft from the SSW at 16 seconds—those long periods mean proper groundswell energy with some grunt. The wind is glassy out of the NW and the combined energy is sitting at 784 (moderate wave energy). It’s going to be clean and lined up. The crowds here are known to show up sometimes, so don’t expect to have it totally to yourself, but it’s worth getting in early.
From there, the quality holds. Sunday the 12th morning is glassy again with 4ft SSW at 14 seconds (combined energy 611). Monday the 13th shows 3ft at 13 seconds with glassy ENE wind—clean and cruisey, perfect for a longer session. Tuesday the 14th morning has calm conditions and 4ft SSW at 14 seconds. Wednesday the 15th and Thursday the 16th mornings both offer glassy windows with around 4ft SSW. It’s a solid run of mornings.
The afternoons nearly always turn a bit marginal or onshore by then—watch the tide and the wind shift.
Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th mornings stay in the game with 4ft SSW and glassy conditions. But the real standout later in the run is Sunday the 19th morning. We’ve got 4ft SSW at 12 seconds, combined energy is 533, and it’s dead calm—zero wind from the ESE. That’s going to be smooth as glass and a great way to end the first week.
The second week slowly winds down. Monday the 20th and Tuesday the 21st still offer clean mornings, but the swell drops to 3ft and then 2ft on the Tuesday, though that Tuesday morning has a 15-second period from the SW, so it’s a clean little lully swell. Wednesday the 22nd morning bounces back to 3ft with glassy NE wind. Thursday the 23rd morning turns cross-offshore from the ESE—clean lines with 3ft at 12 seconds. Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th see the energy dropping off to 221 and then 131 (weak wave energy), with the Saturday morning period down to just 8 seconds—short period slop. It’s surfable but nothing to write home about.
Overall, the first week and a half is your window. Lock in the weekend mornings and that Sunday the 19th for the best of it. After that, the energy fades.
Rusty.
