Tel Baruch South Beach Surf Forecast and Surf Report

Gutted, honestly. I’ve been staring at the charts for Tel Baruch South Beach and there’s just nothing to get excited about for the next sixteen days. That’s a long, flat, blown-out stretch, and by the look of it, the whole window is a write-off for paddling. There are no good surf options in this forecast, plain and simple. The swell stays tiny, the period is short, and the wind is mostly cross-onshore or straight onshore, kicking up chop and making a mess of anything that tries to break.

We’re talking about a beach break that needs a bit of love, but it’s not getting any. The energy is weak as hell – values in the teens and twenties for most of the first week, like 17 or 27 in brackets, just barely registering. There’s a bit of a pulse around the 17th and 18th, when the combined energy climbs into the 50s, 70s and even low 80s (that’s the 17th morning at 56 and the 18th afternoon at 83), but even then, the swell height only nudges up to about 3ft. With a period of just 7 seconds, that’s not real swell – it’s just wind slop.

The first week is particularly grim. From the 10th through the 16th, it’s all tiny lines under 2ft and mostly cross-onshore winds, flipping between light and moderate, so the surface is either rippled or choppy. There’s a glassy moment on Thursday the 13th morning – wind goes SSW at 3 mph, and the water looks clean – but there’s only 1ft of swell and 15 units of energy. You could go for a paddle, but you wouldn’t be surfing.

The second week offers a slight tease but nothing more. From the 17th through the 19th, the swell bumps up to 3–3ft with the energy in the 50–80 range, which is the most we see all period. But it’s still short-period, around 7 seconds, and the winds are mostly onshore in the afternoons, making it lumpy. The mornings have light cross-shore breezes, which is better, but the waves are still shin-to-knee high and weak. This is not a surf, this is a splash-around.

After that, it fades again. The last days of the window – the 20th through the 25th – drop back to 1–2ft, with energy falling into single digits and low teens for a lot of it (like 9 and 10 on the 21st). The period shrinks to 5–6 seconds, so there’s no push at all.

Water temp is running about average for this time of year, so a spring suit is fine, no drama there. But the lack of waves is the real story. With that much weakness and wind, and this being a beach setup, I’d honestly say the conditions look more interesting for a kite surfer than for someone holding a surfboard. The afternoon cross-onshore breeze, especially around 12–15 mph, might give them something to work with, but for us wave riders, it’s a blank run.

Even though the break is rated “fairly consistent,” it doesn’t tend to stay this poor for long. Forecasts change, and there’s always next week. Keep the board waxed, but don’t bother driving down for this one. It’s a hard pass.
