Table - best surf conditions forecast for Tel Baruch South Beach over the next 16 days.

Alright crew, Rusty here. Let’s cut to it: the next 16 days at Tel Baruch South Beach are a proper flat spell. The swell is tiny, and the wind is mostly junk. We’re looking at a long run of nothing special.

We’ve got a solid 16-day stretch ahead, but the first real shot at anything surfable doesn’t arrive until Wednesday, July 23rd. Before that, from Monday July 14th right through Tuesday July 22nd, we’re looking at a gap of over a week with almost no rideable waves. The swell height barely scrapes 2 ft to 2 ft, with periods under 8 seconds, and the combined energy is weak, barely registering over 30 (30). It’s flat, choppy, or cross-shore junk. Nothing to get excited about.

The water temperature is sitting at 82°F, which feels a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, but that’s about the only thing happening.

The first glimmer of something comes on Wednesday morning, July 23rd. The swell bumps up to 3 ft from the WNW with a 6-second period, and the combined energy climbs to 59 (59). It’s still small and weak, and the wind is a cross-shore SW breeze, which will leave a bit of a bump on the surface. Not great, but it’s the best we’ll see for a while. By Thursday July 24th, the morning shows a similar 3 ft swell with a cross-shore wind, but the energy is a touch higher at 70 (70). Still, these are small, short-period pulses that won’t have much push.

The best of the entire run looks to be Saturday July 26th. The afternoon shows a 3 ft swell from the WNW, with a 7-second period and combined energy of 96 (96). That’s still weak, but the size is the highest of the forecast. The wind is a NW onshore breeze, which will chop it up, so it won’t be clean. This is a marginal day for a beginner looking for a waist-high wave, but it’s not a standout.

For a break that’s only fairly exposed to the swell and needs a W wind to be clean, the conditions are consistently against us. The offshore wind direction is ESE, but we never see that. Mostly we get cross or onshore flow from SW, W, or NW. The swell direction is WNW, which is a poor match for the optimum W direction. The spot is fairly consistent, which is a small mercy, but it doesn’t mean much when the swell is this weak.

Honestly, this setup looks more interesting for a kite surfer than a paddle surfer on those afternoons with a bit of onshore wind and a small bump. There just isn’t a single day I’d call a true standout. The best bet is to keep an eye on the weekend of July 26th, but don’t get your hopes up.

Rusty.
