Tel Baruch South Beach Surf Forecast and Surf Report

Alright, surfers, Rusty here. Let’s be straight with you: the next couple of weeks are looking flat and pretty ordinary for Tel Baruch South Beach. We’ve got a long stretch of small, weak, and often messy surf ahead. There’s no real swell on the horizon, so don’t get your hopes up for anything with any push.

The good news is that the water is a touch warmer than usual for this time of year, sitting at a balmy 85°. It’s a bit of a silver lining while we wait for something to show.

Looking at the start of the period, Friday the 7th kicks off with a tiny 2ft of weak, short-period swell. It’s coming from the WNW, but a moderate west wind will have it all chopped up and messy. The energy is weak at 25. Saturday and Sunday aren't much better, with the swell hovering around 2ft to 3ft. The winds are light, but they're either cross or cross-on, keeping the surface bumpy. There's just nothing to get excited about here.

The waves stay small for the entire first week. We see some lower energy values in the teens and twenties, which tells you how weak this window is. The period stays short too, mostly 6 to 7 seconds, so there's no punch to anything.

As we move into the middle of the week, there's a tiny tease on Monday the 17th. The swell bumps up to 3ft with moderate energy, reaching 74 in the morning and 89 in the afternoon. But the wind is still cross-on or onshore, so it’ll be lumpy. The period is still short at 7 seconds.

The following day, Tuesday the 18th, we finally see the biggest swell of the entire run. It’s a whole 3ft, and the energy ticks over into the three-digit range, hitting 101 in the morning. That’s the most push we’re going to get. But, and it’s a big but, the period is a short 7 seconds, and the wind is still cross-onshore, keeping things choppy. It’s not going to be a classic, but it’s the best of a bad bunch.

After that little bump, it fades back down to the 2ft to 2ft range for the rest of the run. There’s a glassy moment on the morning of Thursday the 20th and again on Friday the 21st, but with waves that tiny, you’d be lucky to find a ripple to ride. The long-range stuff into the 22nd shows no improvement.

So, the long and short of it is this: there are no standout days here. The 17th and 18th of August are your best bets, and even then, it’s small and onshore. If you’re a beginner, the 3ft day on the 18th will be fine if you’re comfortable in a bit of chop. For everyone else, it’s a skunk. It's looking more like a week for a different sport than surfing, with that wind and small, weak swell. We’ve got a long flat spell ahead, but these stretches don’t usually last forever.
