The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Gotta be honest with you – there's barely a ripple on the radar for the next couple of weeks. We're looking at a long, quiet stretch.
The only spot we've got to talk about is Tel Baruch South Beach. It's a beginner-friendly, fairly consistent beach break, but the real problem is we just have no proper swell coming in. The wave energy is super weak, with the combined energy barely hitting double digits most days – like a measly 20 (weak) right at the start.
For the whole 16-day run, from Tuesday the 25th of August through Wednesday the 9th of September, it's one poor surf report after another. The swell never even hits 3 ft; we're talking ankle-to-knee high stuff, mostly around 1 ft to 3 ft from the WNW. The period is short too, sitting at 6 to 8 seconds – that's just junky windswell, not the groundswell we want.
The wind is often light and even glassy some mornings, but it doesn't matter when there's no wave to ride. You'll see some glassy mornings, like Monday the 31st of August and Wednesday the 2nd of September, but it's completely flat. Even the stronger breezes later in the afternoons just chop up nothing. There's no standout day, no hidden gem. It's a total 16-day washout.
The only tiny hint of hope comes right at the end. On Wednesday morning the 9th of September, the combined swell energy finally climbs to 73 (still weak) with a tiny 2 ft swell from the WNW and that 8 second period. It's glassy, so if you're desperate to get wet on a longboard, that might just be rideable. But it's still tagged as 'poor surf conditions'. For the rest of us, it's a good time to take a break and check back later.
Rusty.
