Tel Baruch South Beach Surf Forecast and Surf Report

Alright folks, Rusty here. Gotta be straight with you—this stretch is a flat spell. There's really nothing to get excited about for the next 16 days at Tel Baruch South Beach. The whole run is a write-off for any kind of decent surf. We’re looking at a gap of over two weeks with nothing worth paddling out for.

The first couple of days, Wednesday and Thursday the 12th and 13th, you've got tiny 1ft to 2ft wind swell out of the WNW with short, weak periods of 6 to 7 seconds. Combined wave energy is barely a whisper at 15 to 18 (weak). Winds are onshore or cross-onshore, making a mess of things. Forget it.

Through the second week, from the 17th of August onward, we finally see a little bump. On Monday the 17th, the swell pushes up to 3ft from the WNW with a period of 8 seconds, and the energy climbs to a moderate 113. But it's still poor quality. The morning has light cross-shore wind, but by the afternoon it's back to onshore at 12 mph, ruining any chance of a clean wave. The water temperature is about average for this time of year, nothing unusual.

The only real standout in this entire bleak forecast is the morning of Tuesday the 18th. We get 3ft of WNW swell with a 7-second period, moderate energy at 57, but the wind goes glassy out of the west at 3 mph. For a brief moment, that tiny swell will be clean, with a smooth surface. It's the best on offer, but let’s be real, 3ft and weak isn't going to get the heart pumping.

After that, it's back to the doldrums. By the 26th and 27th of August, we're down to 0.7ft to 1.0ft with energy in the single digits. Some mornings are glassy calm, but with no swell to speak of, it's just a flat, pretty lake.

Look, this is one of those blank runs that happens. Forecasts can always change, but as it stands, leave the boards in the car and maybe take the kite out if the wind blows. There's just no surf to be had.
