The Lowdown
Alright, let’s get real about Tel Baruch South Beach. This stretch is one of those spots that just can’t seem to catch a decent wave in this forecast window. The swell is tiny and weak, and most of the time the wind is working against you. It’s a beginner-friendly beach, fairly exposed, but right now it’s just not doing much. The water is sitting at 86°, which is way warmer than normal for this time of year – feels like bathwater, but with no energy to push you around.
The whole 16-day outlook is pretty much a blank run, and honestly, that’s not unusual for this area when the wind is coming from the west-northwest. There are some glassy mornings, especially on Saturday the 12th, Sunday the 13th, and Monday the 14th, but the swell is only 1 ft with a weak period of 6 seconds. The combined energy is just 8 to 13 (weak) – it’s barely a ripple. The wave comment says “poor surf conditions,” and that’s the truth. You’d be waiting forever for something to roll in.
There’s a slight bump on Wednesday the 16th morning – 3 ft from the WNW, period 7 seconds, with glassy conditions. The combined energy hits 75 (still weak to moderate). That’s as good as it gets, but the afternoon gets blown out by a 12 mph onshore wind. You might catch a few ordinary waves that morning if you’re desperate.
The biggest hope – if you can call it that – comes late on Friday the 18th afternoon. Swell bumps up to 4 ft from the WNW, period 8 seconds, with a combined energy of 150 (moderate). But the wind is onshore at 9 mph, so it’ll be choppy and messy. Not a standout by any means. For a beginner spot, anything over 5 ft would be too big, but 4 ft is okay – just don’t expect clean faces.
After that, it drops right back down. There’s a glassy calm morning on Saturday the 19th with 3 ft, but the energy is weak (53). By the 20th, it’s back to tiny 1 ft waves. The whole run from the 20th to the 26th is just poor – weak swell, onshore winds, and occasional cross-shore crud.
Nothing here is a standout. If you’re a beginner and just want to sit on a board in warm water, pick a glassy morning mid-week. Otherwise, this stretch is a hard pass for the next two weeks. Forecasts can change, but right now it’s looking bleak.
