Alright, Rusty here, and I've got the long-range scoop for this stretch of coast.
Alright, I'm not gonna sugarcoat it — this 16-day window is a write-off for any decent surf. We've got a long, flat gap staring us right in the face. The first recommendation doesn't even show up until Sunday the 5th, and even then, it's not exactly something to write home about. From there, right through to Monday the 20th, it's a consistent run of small, weak, and mostly messy waves. There's no standout, no hidden gem, just a whole lot of flat or blown-out conditions.
Let's look at the pick of a very bad bunch. Tel Baruch South Beach. It's about as exposed as it gets around here, but it's facing the wrong way for what little swell is coming. The waves are tiny, mostly around 3 ft to 3 ft, and that short period of 7 to 8 seconds means the combined swell energy is weak, never breaking the 200 mark (mostly between 56 and 144). The water temperature is sitting at 82 °F, which is a touch warmer than usual for this time of year.
The wind is the real killer here. For this beginner-friendly beach break, we've got persistent cross-on or onshore winds, with speeds hitting 9 to 12 mph on most days, just chopping everything up. There are two brief moments of calm—Friday morning the 10th and Sunday morning the 12th—where the wind goes glassy and the waves drop to a pathetic 2 ft to 3 ft. It'll be clean, sure, but there's just nothing to ride. The swell is too weak and the period is too short.
Further out, around Saturday the 18th, there's a tiny bump up to 3 ft again, but the period drops to 6 seconds and the wind is onshore. It's a waste of energy, and honestly, the whole setup looks more interesting for a kite surfer looking for a flat-water session than anyone wanting to paddle. There's simply nothing on offer that's worth the paddle out.
Rusty out.
