The Lowdown
Grab your board, but maybe leave it on the roof for a bit. We're looking at a long, quiet stretch ahead. From now through the 16-day window, there's not a single session that’s really calling my name. The whole forecast is a flat, blown-out, or gutless mess, and every single window is marked as poor surf conditions.
The only break on the radar is Tel Baruch South Beach. It’s a beginner-friendly, fairly exposed beach, and it's looking for a west-northwest swell. But that’s about where the good news ends. The best wave heights we see top out around a measly 3 ft to 3 ft, with periods mostly hanging between 5 and 8 seconds – that’s weak, short-period windswill. The combined swell energy barely gets into the moderate zone, peaking at a weak 86 on the 10th of August. For the first few days, the water’s sitting at about 84°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, so at least you won’t be cold while you’re sitting there waiting for a wave that’s just not showing up.
There are a few brief moments of glassy conditions on the mornings of the 7th, 8th, and 9th of August, but with swell heights of only 1.0 ft to 2 ft and energy values as low as 7, it’s barely a ripple. You could paddle out for a float, but you won't be surfing. Most other days are plagued by onshore or cross-onshore winds from the northwest, turning the tiny surf into a choppy mess.
Honestly, it’s a tough 16-day outlook. There’s nothing to highlight as a standout. The setup here looks far more interesting for a kite surfer than anyone trying to paddle into a wave. For the surfer? This is a blank run that’s pretty normal for the area when the swell windows don’t line up. Keep the board waxed and wait for the forecasts to change, because it can’t stay this poor forever.
