Tel Baruch South Beach Surf Forecast and Surf Report

Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s get into it for this stretch of coast. I’ve been staring at the charts and the short story is this: we’ve got a 16-day window ahead, but honestly, don’t bother paddling out for the first couple of days. There’s barely a ripple to be had.

The first real chance to wet a line comes on Thursday afternoon, September 3rd. The swell is tiny at 1.0 ft with a weak short period of 5 seconds (combined energy of all swells directed here: 5). The wind is onshore from the WNW at 9 mph. It’s pretty much a flat, blown-out mess. Not worth your time.

Friday the 4th and Saturday the 5th are more of the same. We’re still looking at knee-high dribble, 1 ft to 2 ft, with period hanging around 5 to 6 seconds. The wind goes cross-shore on the Friday morning and Saturday morning, but the swell is just too weak. The combined energy is still just a whisper (9, 20, 32).

Sunday the 6th shows a tiny bump – swell height gets to 3 ft (combined energy of all swells directed here: 61), but the wind is cross-onshore or onshore, and the period is a short 7 seconds. It’s gonna be a messy, bumpy small wave day.

Now, Monday morning, September 7th. The wind goes glassy, dead calm at 3 mph from the SW. That’s the only highlight. The swell is a pathetic 2 ft (combined energy: 33). It’s glassy, but there’s nothing to ride. The afternoon gets chopped up by a 12 mph NW wind.

The pattern continues all the way through the next week. Tiny waves, weak energy, and mostly onshore or cross-onshore winds. The water temperature is sitting at a warm 86°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, but that’s about the only thing worth noting.

The only mild spike we see is on Thursday, September 10th, in the afternoon. Swell hits 3 ft from the WNW with an 8-second period, and the combined energy climbs to 120 – that’s moderate energy. But the wind is onshore from the W at 12 mph. That’s a clean, groomed wave? No, it’s a choppy, lumpy mess. Still a no-go.

The second week is a broken record. From the 11th to the 18th of September, we’re stuck in a rut. Swell flirts between 1 ft and 3 ft. The wind stays onshore or cross-onshore most of the time. There’s a fleeting moment of glass on the morning of the 12th, but the swell is only 1 ft (combined energy: 13). You can’t surf glass.

The best of the worst might be the mornings of the 16th and 17th of September. On the 16th, we get 3 ft swell with an 8-second period and a light cross-onshore wind (combined energy: 91). On the 17th, morning wind is light onshore from the WNW at 3 mph, with 3 ft swell (combined energy: 54). But “best” is a dangerous word here. These are still poor surf conditions.

Bottom line: For the entire 16-day forecast, there is not a single standout day. The guidance shows a total of zero recommendations. The swell is small, weak, and mismatched with the wind. For a fairly consistent spot like Tel Baruch South Beach, it’s a rough run. The break is a beginner-friendly, fairly exposed sand beach that needs a solid W swell and clean wind to work. We’re getting neither. It’s so weak and poorly timed that honestly, this stretch looks more interesting for a kite surfer than a paddle surfer, just to get a bounce on the onshore wind days.

The forecasts can change, and it tends not to stay this poor for long, but right now, leave your board in the car. Save the petrol.
