Alright crew, Rusty here. Gonna be a tough one to call for the next couple of weeks, so let’s get straight into it.
First up, the honest truth: we’re looking at a pretty bleak stretch of the 16-day window. The forecast is basically a flat spell for the first week, from Monday July 27th all the way through to Sunday August 2nd. There’s absolutely no surf on offer at all during that time – just a lot of wind and some risk of thunderstorms. You’d be wasting your time even looking at the ocean.
We finally see a tiny flicker of life on Monday August 3rd at Six Men's Bay (Barbados), but it’s barely a pulse. The swell is a measly 0.3ft from the north, with a period of 11 seconds, and the combined energy is a weak 2. That’s not enough to ride. The wind is a cross-offshore from the East at 19 mph, so the water will look clean, but there’s nothing to push you along. The water temperature is sitting at a very typical 83°F for this time of year, so that’s nothing to write home about.
That little hiccup of a swell fades again by Tuesday afternoon, and from August 4th all the way through to August 11th, it’s another blank run. The forecast shows zero energy for the rest of the period. We’re talking a solid 9 days with no surfable waves.
So, the bottom line is: there is no standout session in this whole 16-day outlook. There’s nothing to get excited about. If you’re a local, you know this can happen. The area is pretty exposed, but when the swell windows shut, they shut hard. The good news is that it tends not to stay this poor for long, and forecasts can change. For now, it’s a waiting game.
