The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s look at the only wave in town for the next couple of weeks.
Right from the start, the outlook is real rough for Sironit Beach. This break rarely breaks, and the coming days aren’t changing that. We’re looking at a long stretch of tiny, gutless waves and messy conditions through the whole period. The week ahead is a washout for any kind of decent surf. From Sunday the 13th through to the end of the month, the swell stays below 3 feet and the energy readings are consistently low – numbers between 4 and 67 just show how little power there is. It’s going to be a long wait.
There are a few mornings with glassy wind, like Tuesday the 15th, Wednesday the 16th, and Thursday the 17th, but the swell is way too small and weak to make anything of them. On the 22nd, we get the highest energy reading of the whole run at 65, and the morning is glassy. The swell is only 3 feet from the WNW with a 6-second period – but "surfable but ordinary" is the best we get. For the rest, it’s all "poor surf conditions."
Because the swell is so tiny and the winds turn cross-onshore regularly (especially afternoons), Sironit Beach will stay flat or with barely a bump worth paddling for. This is normal for the area when the conditions don’t line up.
Best on offer: If you’re itching to get wet, the Wednesday morning of September 16th gives you 3 feet of glassy WNW swell with a combined energy of 59 – the closest thing to a clean wave in the whole outlook. I’d still call it a donut, but the conditions will be better than the rest.
Rusty.
