Right, let’s have a look at this forecast then. For the next couple of weeks, it’s all about Señoritas. This is a consistent reef break that’s exposed to the swell, and it’s got a real run of clean conditions coming up. The water is sitting at 71°, which is a whopping 9° warmer than normal for this time of year – that’s a very unusual situation, so you’re in for a treat if you’re paddling out in a shorty.

The action kicks off on Friday, the 31st of July, in the afternoon. We’ve got some clouds overhead, but don’t let that fool you. There’s a clean 3ft SW swell rolling in with a 12-second period, and the wind is a light offshore from the SSE at 12 mph. The combined energy is moderate (275). It’s a nice, welcoming start to the run.

Saturday the 1st of August sees the swell pick up. Morning brings a 5ft S swell with a short 8-second period, but the wind is a light cross-offshore from the WSW. The energy is building nicely (668). The afternoon holds a similar 5ft S swell, still clean. This is solid intermediate territory.

The whole first week is a dream. Sunday the 2nd, Monday the 3rd, Tuesday the 4th – all seeing consistent 3ft to 4ft S and SW swells with light cross-offshore winds. The energy stays in the moderate range, sitting between 409 and 542. The water is glassy or near enough, and the waves are clean.

Now, the real standout window starts on Thursday the 6th of August. The afternoon session is an absolute gem. The swell bumps up to 5ft from the SW, but the period stretches out to a very long 16 seconds. That’s groundswell with real grunt. The wind is light offshore, and the combined energy jumps to a strong 1228. This is excellent surf for experienced surfers. The following morning, Friday the 7th, keeps it going with a 5ft SW swell, 14-second period, and a gentle offshore breeze.

That pattern holds through the next week. The 11th and 12th of August see consistent 3ft to 4ft SW swells with solid 12 to 16-second periods and light offshore or cross-offshore winds. The energy is strong, hitting 931 on Tuesday the 11th.

But the real fireworks are at the end of the run. Friday the 14th of August morning is pumping: 5ft SW swell, 16-second period, light offshore wind, and a combined energy of 1430 – that’s very strong. The afternoon is even better, hitting 1714. And then Saturday the 15th of August, the afternoon session is the pick of the entire forecast. The swell is 7ft from the SW with a very long 18-second period, the wind is a moderate offshore from the SSE at 12 mph, and the combined energy is a massive 4734. That is a serious, powerful groundswell. This is for experts only. The reef will handle it beautifully, but you’ll want your wits about you.

The only hiccup is Monday the 10th of August in the morning, where a cross-shore wind messes it up a bit. But the afternoon returns to form.

Overall, there’s a solid 16 days of surf here, no gaps. The best of the best is that Saturday the 15th of August afternoon session, followed closely by the 14th of August. Get out there.
