The Lowdown

Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's cookin' for Señoritas over the next couple of weeks.

We're looking at a solid run of surf, starting right now on Friday the 31st of July. The water is sitting at 71°, which is a whopping 9° warmer than usual for this time of year – that's a rare treat, you'll be sweating in your wettie. The pattern is a consistent run of south to southwest swells, with the wind mostly playing ball, keeping things clean.

Friday kicks us off with a clean 3ft SW swell (12 seconds) in the morning. The combined energy is a moderate 334, and with a light offshore breeze, it's a nice entry point. The afternoon drops a touch to 3ft, but still clean.

Saturday the 1st of August sees a slight bump in size, but the period drops to 8 seconds. The morning's 5ft S swell (668 energy) and the afternoon's 5ft S swell (569 energy) are a bit wind-affected with a cross-off breeze, but still very surfable.

Sunday and Monday settle into a nice rhythm: 4ft to 4ft S swells, clean with light cross-off breezes. Nice, solid, intermediate-friendly waves.

Now, here's where it gets good. Wednesday the 5th of August, the consistency picks up. We're seeing a 4ft SW swell (13 seconds) and the energy jumps to 678. The wind goes offshore. This is a strong, clean option.

But the real standout? That's Thursday the 6th of August. This is the one to circle. The morning brings a 3ft SW groundswell with a *very* long 17-second period, and the combined energy is a powerful 1024. The wind is a light offshore. The afternoon pushes to 5ft with a 16-second period and a whopping 1185 energy. This is big, clean, powerful groundswell. For a reef break like Señoritas, that long period will draw in some proper lines. This is for experienced surfers – the size is pushing towards expert territory at 5ft, and the power is serious.

The following week keeps the goods coming. Monday the 10th of August is another absolute cracker. The morning and afternoon both see a 5ft SSW swell (14 seconds) with a combined energy over 1200. Light offshore winds. This is another premium day for the experienced crew.

The rest of the second week, from the 11th to the 15th, continues to offer surf. We see a mix of 4ft to 6ft swells, mostly from the south and southwest, with good period and clean conditions. The 14th of August, for example, has a 3ft SW swell with a 16-second period and 1032 energy – another beautiful groundswell day.

Overall, if you're looking for the absolute best, lock in Thursday the 6th of August and Monday the 10th of August. That's where the magic is. The rest of the period is consistently good, but those two days are standouts. Get on it.

Rusty.
