Alright, Rusty here again. Let’s break down the next couple of weeks for Playa Hermosa.
We start off quiet. Tuesday the 4th is a total mess with a cross-on breeze and only 0.9m of weak, short-period swell – the energy is moderate (229), but it’s not worth paddling out. Wednesday morning the 5th gives a tiny window of glassy conditions and 0.8m of S swell, but it’s flat and ordinary. Just hang tight.
Thursday morning the 6th gets things moving: dead calm, glassy, 0.9m of S swell, period 8 seconds. The energy is moderate (217), and it’s a fun little wave for the intermediates. Friday morning the 7th throws a real curveball: offshore NE wind at 5 km/h, and a 0.5m SW groundswell with a long 18-second period. That’s strong energy (381) – those waves will have a lot of punch for their size. Clean, lined-up, and a great morning.
Saturday morning the 8th is a gem: glassy, 0.8m SSW swell, 16-second period, energy at 493 (moderate to strong). Water temp is 30°, a touch warmer than normal – feels like a warm bath. The long period works well here if you pick your spot.
The real standout is the stretch from Friday the 14th through Sunday the 16th. Friday morning: 1.0m of SW swell, 18-second period, glassy, energy at 751 (strong). Saturday the 15th: 1.3m SW swell, 16-second period, glassy, energy at 952 (strong). Sunday the 16th: 1.1m SW swell, 15-second period, glassy offshore, energy at 663. This is too much for beginners, but for the experienced crew, it’s the best of the forecast. Clean, powerful, long-period groundswell.

The absolute best mornings are Friday the 14th, Saturday the 15th, and Sunday the 16th. That’s your window. Playa Hermosa is exposed and consistent, so expect some company – get there at dawn.
