Alright, let’s break it down. Haambatia (Herzliya) is looking like a total bust for the next couple of weeks. I see nothing in the charts that’s going to get a surfer excited. The water is 28°, so it’s a touch warmer than usual, but that’s about all the good news.
Right off the bat on Monday the 6th, we’re dealing with a limp 3ft swell at a short 7 seconds out of the WNW, and the wind is onshore at 12 mph. It’s just choppy and poor. The combined energy is low (68), and it’s all poor. Tuesday and Wednesday have a little more energy – 116 and 133 – but it’s still small and messy under cross-onshore winds. Not worth the hassle.
The whole first week is a no-go. The swell never breaks 3ft, and the period stays short between 6 and 8 seconds. The winds are all over the place – cross, cross-on, onshore – keeping the water rippled or choppy. The energy drops into the low double digits by Saturday the 11th (21) and Sunday the 12th (23). Weak stuff.
Into the second week, it’s more of the same. From the 13th to the 21st, the swell hangs between 1ft and 3ft. The mornings are a little cleaner with lighter winds – some light cross-shore – but the swell is so tiny it’s barely breaking. Afternoons get choppy again under onshore winds. Energy values are mostly in the teens and twenties, with a high of 77 on Friday the 17th afternoon, but even then, it’s tagged as poor. The period hits 8 seconds on the 20th afternoon, but the swell is only 2ft.
This is a flat, quiet stretch. A beginner might find a safe little paddle on a calm morning, but for any real wave riding, there’s nothing on offer. This break is inconsistent by nature, and this forecast shows it. Keep watching though – it never stays poor forever and things can change.
