Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, Rusty here, let's talk about what's on offer locally.
Honestly, mate, it's a pretty quiet stretch ahead. Looking at the whole 16-day window, there's really nothing that gets the heart pumping. We have a long run of days with no real surf to recommend – from now through to the 19th of July, it's all very small and weak. You'll be waiting a good couple of weeks before anything even remotely worth looking at shows up.
The only spot on the radar is Haambatia (Herzliya) , and I've got to be straight with you – it's not looking good. This break is an inconsistent beginner spot that gets exposed to W swells. Right now, the water here is sitting at 82°, which is a touch warmer than normal for the time of year.
Over the first few days, like Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th, we've got some tiny 1.0m swell from the WNW with a short period of 6 to 7 seconds. The wave energy is weak, sitting around 90 to 125, and the wind is a messy moderate cross-onshore chop. It's just poor surf conditions. That pattern carries through the whole first week – the swell barely nudges 3ft, the period stays short and weak, and the wind keeps chopping things up. On the 7th and 8th we get a little more energy into the 120-147 range, but it's still just moderate at best, and that cross-onshore breeze won't let it clean up.
By the second week – around Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th – the swell drops right off to 2ft and the energy plummets to 18-21. There is a brief moment on Sunday the 12th and again on Wednesday the 15th where it turns glassy, but the swell is practically non-existent at 1ft and 2ft. Even the best of these days, like the 15th with 2ft and glassy conditions, the energy is only 52. It's tiny and poor.
There are no standouts here, folks. The entire forecast is a wash. If you had to pick a time for a paddle, maybe the glassy mornings on the 12th or 15th of July, but you'd be floating more than riding. This stretch is a true blank run for the area – sometimes it just goes quiet. Hopefully the next forecast brings something better.
