Table - best surf conditions forecast for Accra Beach - Rockley Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let me level with you about the surf situation for Accra Beach – Rockley Beach. Honestly, there's not much to get excited about over this whole 16-day window.
Looking at the whole run, the primary issue is that while there is a consistent E/ENE swell pulsing through, the winds are a constant problem. It's nearly always a fresh breeze, around 18 to 22 mph from the E or ENE, keeping things mostly cross or cross-offshore. While cross-off can offer some order, these winds are just too strong and gusty, leaving the surf looking lumpy, chunky, and generally not clean enough for a good session. Combine that with short-period swell (7-8 sec), which doesn't pack much punch for the size, and you’ve got a recipe for nothing but groans.
The first real pulse comes through on the afternoon of Monday the 13th with 6 ft of 8-sec east swell. The combined swell energy is moderate at (371), but the fresh cross-shore wind leaves a lumpy cross-chop. It’s the same story through Tuesday the 14th: 6 to 6 ft of east swell with energy in the 300 range, and while it’s “clean” on paper, that’s a cross-off wind state, but the ocean will be a mess with that much breeze.
Wednesday the 15th is just more of the same, though the swell dips a little to 5 ft by the afternoon with energy dropping to (242). The wind stays relentless, pushing 18 mph straight across. Thursday the 16th and Friday the 17th are repeats of this frustrating cycle – solid chop and cross-shore breezes.
The most interesting spot is set for Saturday morning the 18th. We see the biggest swell of the window at 7 ft from the E with an 8-sec period. The combined swell energy jumps up to (510), which is moderate to strong. With the offshore wind state (ENE 22 mph), it’s technically clean, but for a beach break like this, that short-period, 7 ft east swell is going to be a lumpy, bumpy, fast-closing thing. That’s expert territory, and even then, it's going to be a fight to get out. Beginners, steer well clear. The afternoon of the 18th drops off to nothing.
Then we get a big gap with no surf Sunday the 19th all day, and into the next week. The swell comes back Monday morning the 20th with a clean 7 ft from the east (475 energy), but the wind is cross again by the afternoon. Tuesday and Wednesday the 21st and 22nd see the swell fade out to a measly 0.7 ft by Wednesday afternoon. That's a flat spell right there.
Later in the week, from Thursday the 23rd through the 25th, we get a repeat of the same poor pattern: 6 to 6 ft of wind-swell with strong, cross-shore breezes and lumpy conditions. The energy is moderate (around 400), but the quality is zilch.
Honestly, there isn’t one standout, memorable session in this entire 16-day run. If you have a kite, the strong winds and consistent swell faces from the 13th to the 18th might look interesting, but for a paddle surfer, it’s a flat-out no. There’s no clean, well-shaped wave on offer with a decent period. The water temperature is sitting at about 82°, which is bang average for this time of year, so no surprises there.
In short, don’t bother waxing up just yet, mate. Forecasts can change, but this one is a blank run for now.
