The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here. Let's be honest, it's a tough stretch ahead for Wimereux. We're looking at a long, flat, and messy run. The forecast shows nothing but "poor surf conditions" for the entire 16-day window, so there's no real standout day to get excited about. The combined energy of all swells is low, often below 100 (weak), with a few days barely scraping into the moderate range.
The only wave action we see is tiny, with swell heights mostly under 3.3 ft and short, weak periods. That's not going to produce anything rideable. The wind is a constant problem too, mostly cross-shore or cross-onshore, which will chop up whatever little bump there is. The first real gap of anything to even consider is on the 28th of July, when a tiny 2.6 ft swell from the WSW shows up, but it's still cross-shore and the energy is very weak (25). The best of a bad lot might be the morning of the 28th, with a gentle breeze keeping the surface a little less messy, but you're still looking at pathetic waves.
If you're a beginner, don't even bother. The swell is too small and weak to learn on, and the water temperature is about average for the time of year. Honestly, for the next two weeks, you're better off leaving the board at home. The whole period is a write-off for paddle surfing.
Short Range ForecastMostly dry. Warm (max 23°C on Fri afternoon, min 15°C on Sat night). Winds decreasing (fresh winds from the NNE on Thu night, light winds from the NE by Fri night). | Days 5-7 Weather SummaryMostly dry. Very mild (max 19°C on Tue afternoon, min 15°C on Sun night). Wind will be generally light. | ||||||||||||||||||
