Alright, Rusty here. Let’s break down what’s happening at Tel Baruch North Beach. For the next week and a half, it’s pretty dead. There’s almost no surf worth paddling for – the wave energy is weak, reading in the teens and twenties for combined energy, which means little to no push. Winds are mostly from the north and west, with afternoons getting choppy as the onshore breeze kicks in.

The first real chance to get wet comes on the 22nd (Monday) morning. It’ll be glassy, with a light wind from the north. Waves are tiny – about 3 ft from the WNW with a short 6-second interval. The combined swell energy hits 51, still weak but at least it’s not dead flat. It’s a “surfable but very ordinary” kind of day. Perfect for a beginner who just wants to get wet and catch a few soft ones.

On the water temp: when you go out around the 22nd, it’s almost 86°F, which is about 4°F warmer than average. That’s noticeably warm – feels like a summer swimming pool.

If you’re looking for something with a little more push, you’ll have to wait until the 24th (Thursday) morning. That brings a 4 ft swell from the WNW with an 8-second interval, and the combined energy jumps to 217 – that’s moderate energy. That size could be a bit much for the less experienced, though. The morning has a light cross-shore wind from the SW, so there’s a chance for a few rideable waves if you’re early. But by afternoon, the wind swings onshore from the NW at 12 mph, chopping it up.

The break is a beach and point setup, exposed to west swell – the best swell direction is from the west, which is close to what we’re seeing. One thing: crowds are frequent here, so don’t expect solitude.

The real standout is the 22nd morning – clean, small, and user-friendly. The 24th morning has more size but it’s marginal. The rest of the two weeks? Not much happening.
