Tel Baruch North Beach Surf Forecast and Surf Report

Alright, let me tell ya how it’s looking for our stretch here. To be straight with you, it’s a tough 16-day run. We’ve got a real dry spell on our hands for the first week.

We’re looking at Tel Baruch North Beach. Water temp is sitting at 86°, which feels a touch warmer than normal for this time of year. For the first week, from Thursday the 3rd right through to Wednesday the 9th, it’s pretty much all poor surf conditions. Knee-high dribble or smaller – think 1ft to 3ft – mostly from the WNW. The energy is weak, with combined energy values struggling to get above 60 (low wave energy). The wind is mostly either cross-shore or onshore, which doesn’t do us any favors, though there are a few glassy early mornings on Monday the 7th, Tuesday the 8th, and Wednesday the 9th with tiny 2ft to 2ft leftovers. It’s flat, it’s weak, and there’s nothing to get excited about.

Thursday the 10th morning is the first little glimmer. We get a glassy morning with the swell bumping up to 3ft from the WNW and a period of 8 seconds. The combined energy hits 83 (still weak, but the best we’ve seen). The report calls it “surfable waves but very ordinary conditions,” and I’d agree – it’s a limp, short-period windswell that’ll only work if you’re on a log. The afternoon chops it back up.

Then we hit another dead zone. From Friday the 11th through to Thursday the 17th of September, it’s back to tiny, messy scraps. We get calm, glassy mornings on the 12th, 13th, 16th, and 17th, but the swell is basically non-existent, mostly 0.5ft to 2ft. The combined energy drops to single and low double digits – that’s barely a ripple. For a beach and point setup that really needs some juice and the right wind, these are days for a flat-water paddle, not a surf.

Finally, on Friday the 18th of September, there’s a bit of a pulse. The morning is dead calm with 4ft from the WNW at 8 seconds. The combined energy jumps to 122 (moderate wave energy). That’s the only session that even registers. The period is short, but with glassy conditions and that size, a funky little morning session might be on the cards. The afternoon, however, gets chopped up by a 12 mph NW cross-onshore wind, and the report says “poor surf conditions.”

So, the one true standout? It’s the Friday 18th September morning at Tel Baruch North Beach. It’s the only day with moderate energy (122) and glassy conditions, giving us clean 4ft waves. For the rest, it’s a long, painful wait. The setup is so weak and wind-affected that on a few of those afternoons with stronger onshore winds and less than 3ft, it looks better for kite surfing than a paddle.
