For a wave that likes a clean offshore wind, having that 15-19 mph wind either cross-on or directly on it is a killer. Every single spot in the files is getting the "poor surf conditions" stamp, and there’s not a single recommendation in the mix. That’s a long, dry spell, especially from Thursday 16th July right through almost to the end of the month. The only thing that changes is the size, but the wind doesn't let up.

Now, let’s talk about the only real light at the end of the tunnel – and it’s a long-range, "keep your fingers crossed" kind of light. For Friday morning, 31 July, the data is showing a bit of a pulse. We’ve got a 6ft swell coming from the SW, with a very long period of 18 seconds. That’s proper groundswell energy, and the combined energy reading of 3723 tells you there’s some serious power in the water. Gerpuk Bay - Inside Gerpuk (Grupuk) is a reef setup that can handle that direction, especially with a period that long.
