The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here. Let's take a good, hard look at what's cookin' for Bogliasco. I'll be straight with you – it's a tough stretch ahead. Don't get your hopes up too high.
For the first solid week and a half, we're looking at a whole lot of nothing. The spot barely has a pulse from now well into the end of August. The swell energy is weak, with values mostly in the single or low double digits, and we're bombarded by onshore winds that just ruin the surface. You'll see some stormy weather too, which doesn't help. There's a gap of almost no recommendations as far as the eye can see.
The first real glimmer of hope comes on the morning of the 2nd of September. That's a long way off. But, when it shows, it shows. We've got some solid swell arriving – expecting it to be around 8 ft from the SSW. That's chunky, borderline expert-only, but with a gentle offshore wind from the North, that's a huge positive. The combined energy is a strong 655, meaning there's some real push behind it. The good news continues into the afternoon: still a nice 6 ft from SSW, turning cross-offshore from the WNW, keeping things clean. The water temp is a wild 84° with a massive anomaly. That's way warmer than normal for this time of year.
So, for the entire 16-day window, the only standout is the Wednesday the 2nd of September. It's a promise that's far off, and forecasts can wobble, but that morning session is the only one giving this spot a real chance to deliver. Don't hold your breath for anything before that.
