The Lowdown
Right then, let's have a look at what's on offer for Bogliasco over the next couple of weeks. I've got to be straight with you, it's a pretty bleak picture for the most part. We're looking at a long stretch of tiny, weak swell and mostly poor conditions. There's a real gap in decent surf here.
The water is a notable 79°F right now, which is a massive 8°F warmer than usual for this time of year – very unusual.
The first week is a write-off, honestly. We start off on Monday the 14th with a tiny 0.3ft southerly swell, weak energy (1), and a cross-onshore wind. That's a no-go. Tuesday the 15th is clean with a light offshore in the morning, but still only 0.3ft. Wednesday the 16th is glassy in the morning but there's no swell at all. Thursday the 17th sees a little pulse, 2ft from the south, but the wind is messy and there's a risk of thunderstorms. It just doesn't come together.
Friday the 18th is the only day that even gets a mention as "surfable", but even that's pushing it. The afternoon goes glassy with a 3ft south-southwest swell. The energy is still weak (81) and the period is short at 6 seconds. It's the best of a bad bunch, but it's barely a knee-high dribbler.
After that, it's back to tiny, clean, but flat conditions through the weekend and into the next week. We see a little bump of 1ft from the south-southeast on Friday the 25th with clean offshore winds in the morning and glassy conditions in the afternoon, but again, the energy is weak (22-24). That’s about as good as it gets, and that’s not saying much.
Forget the second week. There's nothing to get excited about. A few 0.7ft to 1ft days with clean winds, but it's just not enough to paddle for. The whole 16-day window is a bust for any kind of quality wave. This is one of those times where you'd be better off checking the forecast again in a few days.
