The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what we've got on the cards for Bogliasco over the next couple of weeks.
Honestly, it's a slow start. The next week or so is looking pretty flat and not worth paddling out for. We’ve got a long dry spell from now until the morning of Tuesday, 18th August. For over a week, the energy is basically zero (0-3), so don't bother waxing up just yet.
Finally, on the morning of Tuesday, 18th August, we see a pulse of life. A light north offshore wind is blowing, keeping the surface clean. The swell is coming from the SSW at about 3ft with a period of 6 seconds. The combined energy hits a modest 87, so it's weak, but it's the best we’ve seen. It's a sandbar break, so expect small, crumbly waves. It's not going to blow your mind, but for a flat spell, it's something.
The morning of Wednesday, 19th August, has a similar story with a 2ft SSW swell, a 7-second period, and a light cross-offshore breeze from the NE. The energy is lower at 54, so it's dropping again. The afternoons get onshore and messy.
There’s a brief window on the morning of Sunday, 23rd August. The wind is glassy (NNE at 3 mph) and the swell bumps up a touch to 2ft from the SW with a 7-second period and energy of 65. It’s nothing special, but with glassy conditions it’ll be clean.
Overall, there’s no real standout here. The best bet is the morning of Tuesday the 18th, but keep your expectations low. It’s more of a longboard or funboard session than a proper surf.
Rusty.
