Alright, this is Rusty.
Gotta be straight with you – Bogliasco is looking pretty flat for the foreseeable future. There’s a big gap coming with no real surf on offer. The first hint of anything rideable doesn’t show up until Saturday July 18th, and even then, it’s not a classic.
Let’s break it down. From Sunday the 5th all the way through to the morning of Saturday the 18th? Barely a ripple. You’ll see a few glassy mornings, like Tuesday the 7th and Thursday the 9th, but the swell is tiny – 0.7ft or less and energy readings of just 1 or 3. It’s flat, plain and simple. The water temp is about average for the time of year.
Then, on Saturday morning July 18th, we get a little pulse. The sandbar at Bogliasco (Italy) might see a 2ft swell from the SW with a period of 5 seconds. The combined wave energy is still very weak at only 14. It’s a short period windswell, so don’t expect any proper shape, but the wind will be glassy in the morning. That’s your best bet. Sunday the 19th morning has a light offshore wind from the north at 9 mph, but the swell drops back to 0.7ft.
