The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here again, looking at the same stretch for you. Honestly, it’s a rough go for the next 16 days. There’s a huge gap right at the start with nothing to get your hopes up. You’re looking at a long, flat spell until around September 15th.
The first real chance of a wave doesn’t roll in until Tuesday, September 15th, and even then, it’s pretty small. Before that, it’s just tiny, weak swell or nothing at all. You’ll be staring at a flat ocean for nearly two weeks. The water is a warm 81°, which is way warmer than usual for this time of year, so at least a dip won’t be cold.
Okay, let’s get to the only window that’s worth a look. On Tuesday, September 15th, Bogliasco (Liguria) finally gets a tiny pulse. The morning is your best bet. There’s a clean, light offshore wind from the North at 9 mph, keeping a 3 ft swell from the SW clean. The period jumps to 9 seconds, so it’s got a bit more shape. The wave energy is 127 (moderate), so there’s a little bit of push. It’s small, but it’s the only game in town. The afternoon glass-off looks okay with 2 ft, but the morning offshore will give you the cleanest conditions. It’s a sandbar break, fairly consistent, and can get a crowd sometimes, but on a day like this, you might have it mostly to yourself.
The only other faint glimmer is the afternoon of the 15th, with glassy conditions and a 2 ft SW swell, but the energy is lower at 87 (weak). If you’re really keen, you could get a few fun little ones.
Other than that, the rest of the forecast is a total flat, messy bust. There’s a huge gap from now until the 15th. The 16th is back to tiny, forgettable stuff. For a spot that’s usually fairly consistent, this is a real stinker. It won’t stay this bad forever, but for now, leave the board in the car.
Rusty.
