Table - best surf conditions forecast for Bogliasco over the next 16 days.
The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's on the table for Bogliasco over the next couple of weeks.
Mate, I gotta be straight with you – it’s a tough stretch ahead. The whole 16-day window is looking pretty grim, with only a couple of fleeting moments that might get you wet. The water is sitting at a very unusual 84°F, which is 7°F warmer than normal for this time of year, so you won't need a thick wetsuit, but you will need a lot of patience.
We kick off on Saturday the 15th with absolutely nothing. The swell energy is at zero (0). For the next week and a half, almost every session is tagged as poor surf conditions. We have a long gap of days where it's just flat or tiny, blown-out junk. The first hint of anything comes on Sunday the 23rd of August in the morning. There's a tiny 3ft swell from the SW, with a light cross-offshore breeze from the ENE keeping it clean. But with a combined energy of only 55 (weak), it's just barely surfable, and very ordinary at that. Not worth rushing for.
Things get a *little* more interesting on Monday the 24th of August. The morning shows an 8ft SW swell, with a 7-second period. That's pushing into expert territory at that size, and the energy jumps up to 915 (moderate to strong). But here’s the catch: the wind is from the ESE, creating a cross-shore bump. The surf report itself says it's marginal. This might be one for the experienced crew only, and even then, with onshore winds in the afternoon.
After that, the energy drops right off again into the end of the month, with a few glassy mornings on the 27th and 29th, but we're talking ankle-biters under 1ft.
Honestly, the only standout, if you can even call it that, is the morning of the 24th of August. The swell is real, but it's not clean, and it's big for Bogliasco. If you're a local charger, that's your window. For everyone else, it’s a long wait for the next swell.
Stay patient, mates.
Rusty.
