The Lowdown
Alright, folks, it’s Rusty here. I’ve taken a look at the charts and the outlook for our local spot, and I’ll level with you – it’s a tough one. We are looking at a long, flat spell with barely a ripple in sight for the next 16 days. The swell window is just not cooperating right now.
Right off the bat, there is nothing doing. We start with a complete blank. For Friday the 11th, we are looking at tiny 2ft swell from the South, but it’s marked as poor surf conditions with weak combined energy (17). That is not a wave you’d paddle for. The water is sitting at a very unusual 81° – that’s 9° warmer than average for this time of year, which is a real standout.
The whole first week is a washout. We get a little bump on the 17th with some 3ft swell from the South and moderate combined energy (57), but with a risk of thunderstorms and cross-onshore wind, it’s still not going to offer anything decent. For the rest of the period, we are looking at day after day of flatness. From the 22nd through the 26th of September, there are multiple days with zero energy. It’s about as lifeless as it gets.
There is no standout day here. If you are keen, the best you can hope for is that tiny pulse on the morning of the 17th, but honestly, it’s not worth getting wet for. With the combined energy so low and the quality marked as poor across the board, the only potential here might be for a kite if you see a gust, but for a paddle surfer, this is a hard pass. The forecast can always change, but as it stands, it’s a 16-day drought.
