First ten days are a total bust. We’re looking at ankle-biters, maybe 0.3ft to 1ft at best, with winds that are mostly onshore or just messy. The energy numbers are tiny – between 1 and 14. There’s nothing to get excited about. It’s a proper dry spell.
The first real chance of a wave comes Saturday morning, the 18th of July. The swell bumps up to about 4ft from the southwest, with a 7-second period. The energy jumps to 122, and with a clean offshore breeze from the north, those waves will actually be rideable. It’s nothing special, but it’s something.
Now, the one to circle on your calendar is the morning of Wednesday, the 22nd of July. That’s the best of the whole outlook. We’re looking at a solid 5ft south-southwest swell, with an 8-second period, and a combined energy of 326. The wind is offshore from the north, making for clean conditions. That’s the session.
The following morning, Thursday the 23rd, still has some waist-high waves around 5ft from the same direction, but the wind gets a little cross-off, so it won’t be as glassy.
