Table - best surf conditions forecast for Rapid Creek - Beach over the next 16 days.
Hey mates, Rusty here. I'll be straight with you – the outlook for Rapid Creek - Beach is about as flat as a billabong in a drought. We're looking at a brutal 16-day stretch with almost no surfable waves. For the first week, there's a tiny bit of energy, but from July 15th, it's a dead flat spell that runs all the way to the end of the forecast on the 25th. A long, miserable gap.
On the few mornings early on where you might think about it, the swell is a pathetic 0.3 ft from the west. Sure, it's a long-period groundswell with periods between 14 and 18 seconds, but with no height, it's useless. The combined energy is a measly 4 to 6 (single digits), so there's zero grunt. The wind is often clean and offshore in the mornings from the ESE, which would be perfect if there were any waves to surf.
The water temp is about normal for this time of year. For a beach break that's fairly exposed to the west, this kind of dead run is pretty normal for the area when the swell windows close up. It's more of a kitesurfing setup with those clean offshore winds than anything for a paddle surfer.
Rusty out. Put the boards away and go find something else to do.
