The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here again. Let’s cut to the chase: it’s flat. For over a week and a half, there’s nothing on offer at Rapid Creek. We’ve got a long stretch of zip, zilch, nada. The swell energy is weak as, barely registering a pulse. You’d be chasing your tail for nothing.
There’s a few mornings with a clean offshore breeze that will look tempting, but the ocean will be a lake. Don't fall for it. From the 22nd through the 29th, there’s a tiny bit of west swell around 0.3ft, but it’s gutless and the afternoons turn choppy. Not worth the drive.
Right at the tail end of the forecast, on September 2nd, we finally see a pulse of life. The swell bumps up to a tiny 0.7ft, and the energy gets a little bit of juice to it. The morning looks clean with a light east breeze, and that will be the call. The water is sitting at a normal 80° for the time of year. It’s the only window we’ve got, so if you’re desperate, that’s your shot. Otherwise, keep an eye on the charts because a flat spell like this has to break sometime.
Rusty.
