Table - best surf conditions forecast for Rapid Creek - Beach over the next 16 days.
Alright, let’s break it down. Rapid Creek – Beach is lookin’ pretty grim. The whole 16-day stretch is a dud. We’re talkin’ waves that are barely a ripple.
From Sunday, July 12th, it’s all tiny. A 0.3ft west swell with a 16-second period, but the energy is a measly 5 (weak). The wind is a cross-off ESE breeze at 12 mph, so the water’s clean, but there’s nothin’ to surf. Water temp is 80°F with a 0.9°F anomaly, so about average.
That flat pattern just keeps goin’. Monday the 13th, Tuesday the 14th – same thing. 0.3ft swells, periods dropping from 14 to 13 seconds, energy between 3 and 4. Offshore winds in the mornings, but the swell is dead. Wednesday the 15th and Thursday the 16th? Zero. Completely flat.
Friday the 17th gives a tiny flicker late in the day – 0.3ft at 15 seconds, but the afternoon wind turns cross-shore and chops it up. Saturday the 18th has a clean morning with offshore breeze, but again, just 0.3ft of west swell. Not enough.
The second week is more of the same. Sunday the 19th through Wednesday the 22nd – 0.3ft swells, energy never breakin’ double digits. Winds are mostly cross-off or cross-on. The mornings are clean, but you’d be sittin’ on your board with nothin’ to catch.
Thursday the 23rd shows a tiny shift – 1ft from the northeast with a 3-second period. That’s windswell, and it’s weak, plus the wind is cross-on. Not worth it. Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th are flat again – offshore winds, clean, but no waves.
The last day, Sunday the 26th, we get a 0.3ft west swell with a 18-second period – very long period groundswell. Energy is still only 6 (weak). Clean in the morning, but no size.
The whole 16 days, there’s nothin’ worth paddlin’ out for. It’s a long, flat run. For a beach break like this, it’s normal to have these dead spells. No standouts, no fun. Just glassy, empty water. You might get more excitement out of a kite than a surfboard, but even that’s a stretch.
Rusty.
