Alright, let’s get into it. The first real window of surf shows up Thursday morning, so we’ve got a little time to wait. There’s a bit of a gap before that, but once it kicks in, we’ve got a decent run of waves to look at.

Thursday morning is where you want to be. It’s only 5.6ft of east-northeast swell, but the wind is glassy out of the north at 3 mph. That’s the kind of clean you dream about. The energy is moderate at 459, and it’s breaking pretty consistently. This is a solid, clean start to the run at Portete (Ecuador). The water temp is about average for this time of year, so nothing wild there.

The afternoons this week are mostly a write-off. Thursday afternoon gets a bit of cross-on breeze and the quality drops right off. Friday is similar – mornings are marginal with a cross-on wind, and the afternoon is onshore. You’re not missing much.

Saturday morning is another one to circle. Similar size, 4.3ft, but that glassy wind is back. It’s clean, but the energy drops to 207, so it’s a bit weaker. Still, it’s a fun, clean option.

Then we get a bit of a jump. Sunday morning is where things start to get interesting. The swell pushes up to 6.6ft from the ENE, and the wind swings offshore from the SSW at 6 mph. That’s clean, that’s pushing, and the energy is up to 746 – that’s a solid, moderate push. This is a standout morning for sure. The wave comment says “very good surf conditions,” and I’d agree. It’s bigger, it’s clean, and it’s got some push behind it.

Monday morning gets messy with a cross-on breeze and choppy conditions, so you can sleep in. Tuesday morning is back to glassy, with 5.2ft and 389 energy. Another good, clean session.

Wednesday the 13th is another big one. The swell is 5.9ft, but the morning is glassy, and the energy is up to 635. The comment says “very good surf conditions.” This is looking like another standout – clean, punchy, and consistent.

The next week is where it gets a bit more interesting, but also less certain. Saturday the 15th sees the swell jump to 7.9ft, with energy over 1000 – that’s strong. But the wind is cross-shore, and the conditions are only marginal. It’s big, but it’s not clean. Monday the 17th is the biggest of the run, with 9.8ft of ENE swell and energy hitting 1913. That’s serious power. But the wind is cross-shore again, and honestly, at that size, this spot is going to be heavy. This is expert-only territory. If you’re not confident, give it a miss.

The rest of that second week is a mix of fading swell and cross/onshore winds. There’s still wave action, but it’s not going to be clean. The standout mornings from that week are the ones with the glassy wind early on, but the long-range forecast is a bit less certain.

Overall, the best bets are Sunday morning the 9th, and Wednesday morning the 13th. Those are the cleanest, most powerful windows. The big stuff on the 17th is for the brave only.
