Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, let's break this down in feet and miles per hour.
It’s gonna be slow to start. Ninja's is pretty quiet for the first few days. Today and tomorrow, Monday the 6th and Tuesday the 7th, are offering pretty small, weak swell with a fair bit of wind. We're talking 2 to 3 feet, nothing special. The water's a warm 84°, about average for now, so you'll be fine in shorts.
There’s a big quiet stretch after that. Wednesday the 8th morning is clean but tiny at 2 feet from the SW. Still not worth paddling out for. That lull carries through until we hit Thursday the 9th – and that’s our first real winner.
Thursday the 9th is money. Both morning and afternoon are looking excellent. We've got a clean 4-foot SSW groundswell, with a long 15-second period pumping energy into the reef. The combined energy is strong (701) and a light cross-offshore wind from the west is keeping the surface glassy. The swell direction lines up perfectly with the break. This is the highlight of the whole 16 days – a proper stand-out day. Just remember, being a reef, it handles that long period beautifully, but crowds are pretty typical here.
From Friday the 10th through the following Tuesday, the swell drops back to 2 to 4 feet. It's clean, especially Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th with offshore breezes, but nothing special after that Thursday peak.
Things look up again early the following week. Monday the 13th and Tuesday the 14th bring back 3 to 4 feet of S swell, solid 11 to 12-second periods, and clean morning winds. The energy holds up (545-583). These are good, solid days, but they’re still second best to that Thursday.
The second week gets messy. By Wednesday the 15th, it's small again. Thursday the 16th has a light onshore breeze – not ideal. Friday the 17th sees a jump to 4 feet of SSW swell with a very long 17-second period and strong energy (895), but the wind shifts onshore or light cross-onshore, wrecking the quality. Saturday the 18th has the biggest swell of the whole run at 5 feet from the SSW with a 16-second period and massive 1009 energy reading. Again, the wind is only a light cross-onshore, but if it cleans up, that afternoon could be a serious late session. At that size, it's beefy enough for intermediate-to-advanced surfers only.
Bottom line: make a plan for Thursday the 9th. That's your standout session.
