Table - best surf conditions forecast for La Caffrine over the next 16 days.
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cookin’ for La Caffrine over the next couple of weeks.
We’re starting off with a bit of a wait, because the first good surf doesn’t show up until Wednesday the 8th of July. That morning, we’ve got a solid 7ft swell out of the SSE, period around 11 seconds, pushin’ through. The water is a touch warmer than normal at 77°, which is nice. The wind is light cross-off from the SE at 6 mph, so it’s gonna be clean. The combined energy is strong at 1899, so there’s plenty of power. This is for experienced surfers only – the size is in the expert range. That afternoon holds 8ft from the ESE, period 9 seconds, still clean with a light breeze. This is a real standout for the first week – solid, clean, and plenty of juice.
Thursday the 9th of July morning drops to 5ft from the SSE, period 10 seconds, and the wind goes glassy from the SW at 3 mph. That’s beautiful. The energy is moderate at 502. It’s not as big, but the glassy conditions and clean lines make it a great option for a wider range of surfers. The afternoon stays glassy with 4ft from the south, period 11 seconds.
Friday the 10th of July morning is another gem – 3ft from the SW, but with a long 15-second period and glassy wind from the west at 3 mph. This is a proper groundswell with good shape, and the energy is still moderate at 583. The afternoon gets tricky with a questionable tide call.
By Saturday the 11th of July, the swell jumps back up to 6ft from the SW, period 15 seconds, but the morning has a light cross-shore bump from the SSE. The energy is strong at 1445. It’s still surfable for experienced folks, but not as clean.
Sunday the 12th of July morning sees the swell hit 10ft from the SW, period 15 seconds, with a cross-off wind from the SE at 9 mph. The energy is very strong at 3370. This is expert-only territory – way too big for most. The afternoon gets messy with a moderate cross-shore chop.
Monday the 13th of July morning brings a solid 7ft from the SW, period 14 seconds, with light cross-off wind and strong energy at 1854. That afternoon goes glassy with 7ft from the SW, period 14 seconds. This is a great, clean window for experienced surfers.
Tuesday the 14th of July holds 6ft from the SSW in the morning, period 13 seconds, with clean conditions, and the afternoon stays clean with 5ft. Good quality continues.
Wednesday the 15th of July is a big standout for the second week – 5ft from the south in the morning, period 12 seconds, with glassy wind from the WSW at 3 mph. The energy is moderate at 815. That afternoon is clear and glassy at 5ft. This is a prime, clean session for all skill levels.
Thursday the 16th of July drops off to small 3ft, but Friday the 17th of July morning fires up again with 4ft from the south, and a very long 18-second period. The energy is strong at 1063 with glassy wind. This is a promised standout – groundswell at its finest, best suited for the points and reefs if there are any, as it’ll be walled up on the beach.
The rest of the second week sees a mix of clean 5ft and 4ft swells from the south with glassy or light winds, keeping the quality up. Then on Monday the 20th of July, we get a big pulse: 8ft from the SW in the morning, period 16 seconds, with strong energy at 2682 and clean cross-off wind. That afternoon jumps to 10ft from the SSW, with very strong energy at 4520 – again, experts only. The week closes out with some solid, clean 5ft to 7ft swells through to Thursday the 23rd of July, which is a full two weeks out, so keep an eye on it.
Overall, the best on offer is Wednesday morning the 8th of July for the power and cleanliness, and Friday morning the 17th of July for that long-period glassy perfection.
Stay stoked.
