Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's cut through the noise and get to what matters for your next session.

Alright, it’s a mixed bag for this stretch, but there is some proper juice on the horizon for experienced surfers. The water temp at La Caffrine is sitting at 76.6°, which is about 1.8° warmer than usual for this time of year—a nice little bonus, feels good.

The first real standout window kicks off on Saturday the 4th. Saturday morning is looking clean, mate. We’ve got a 5.6ft SSW groundswell with a very long 13-second period, and it’s dead glassy (3 mph from the WSW). The combined energy of all swells directed here is moderate at 1107, the water is clean as a whistle, and those sets will have some push. This is good for experienced surfers, but the wave height is getting up there. It’s a bit much for beginners at 5.6ft. There’s a chance of crowds at La Caffrine, so be ready for company on the peak.

Sunday morning the 5th sees some energy, 5.2ft from the SW with a 16-second period, but the wind is a light cross-shore, so it won't be quite as clean as Saturday. The swell energy is strong at 1867. Sunday afternoon jacks up to 8.2ft, which is now pushing into expert territory, and the wind stays cross-shore. The energy jumps to 2588, but the conditions get a bit messier.

Monday the 6th, forget it. Moderate cross-shore winds at 12-16 mph are going to chop it up. The swell is still solid at 6.9ft to 7.5ft, but the quality drops right off. For paddle surfing, it’s looking average at best. Honestly, with those cross-shore winds and a decent swell, that setup might be more interesting for kite surfing than a paddle session.

Now, hold on to your boardies. From Tuesday morning the 7th through to Wednesday the 8th, we get a massive pulse. This is the big show, but it’s not for everyone. The swell hits 9.8ft from the S on Tuesday, with fresh, clean cross-offshore winds (19 mph from the SE). The energy is very strong, hitting 3038. The swell period is 12 seconds. This is a powerful, clean swell. But—and this is a big but—9.8ft is too big for this break. It’s an expert-only zone at that size, and only if the tide cooperates. Wednesday morning stays around 9.8ft. The swell swings more east (SE) with a shorter 9-second period, but it’s still clean with cross-off winds. Wednesday afternoon sees it drop to 8.2ft with a 9-second period and cleaner conditions, making it more manageable for experienced surfers.

Thursday the 9th is a sneaky good reset. The swell drops to 4.9ft from the SSE with a 10-second period, and it goes dead glassy again. The energy is low to moderate at 543, but the quality will be high. A perfect day for stepping down a board size or for the slightly-less-experienced crew to get a piece.

Friday the 10th is small but glassy—waves around 3.0ft to 3.3ft from the SW with a long period. Not a standout, but a fun, clean day for a log or a fish.

Saturday the 11th, we see another spike. Saturday morning delivers a 7.2ft SW groundswell (14-second period) with glassy conditions. Strong energy at 1981. This is a top pick for the whole outlook for experienced paddlers. The period is long, so expect bigger, cleaner walls—best on the point or reef here. Saturday afternoon is just as good, with 5.9ft and a 15-second period, perfectly clean. The water will be like glass.

Sunday the 12th morning is the absolute standout of the entire period. The swell is 8.2ft from the SSW, with a 15-second period and clean cross-offshore winds. The energy is a massive 4512—that’s a lot of power. This is a serious groundswell event for experts. Sunday afternoon stays huge at 9.8ft, but strong cross-shore winds mess it up. The morning session on the 12th is the one to circle on your calendar.

Monday the 13th through Tuesday the 14th, we settle into a solid, clean, but not epic pattern. 5.6ft to 8.2ft SSW swells, clean cross-off winds. Good fun for the intermediate to advanced crew, but nothing that will blow your socks off.

Wednesday the 15
