Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, Rusty here again, lookin' at what's comin' for La Caffrine across these next couple weeks.
We're startin' off slow. Monday the 6th is a total bust – messy cross-chop and mediocre surf. Don't bother paddlin' out. Gotta wait.
Tuesday the 7th brings a big ol' pulse of swell, a solid 10ft from the south, but honestly, it's just too much for this break. The wind is clean, but the energy's massive (3001 combined energy), and that's expert-only terrain, if even that. I'd say sit this one out unless you're lookin' for a beatdown.
Now, Wednesday morning the 8th is where it gets tasty for the experienced crew. Swell drops to a still hefty 7ft from the SSE, and with a light breeze makin' it clean, it's on for those who know what they're doin'. Energy's still strong (2215).
Thursday the 9th is a real gem. Morning has little 5ft waves from the SSE with glassy conditions. Combined energy is a modest 502, so it's not pumpin', but it's user-friendly and clean. The afternoon gets smaller at 4ft, still clean with a cross-off breeze.
Friday the 10th is another standout. Glassy both morning and afternoon, with a 3ft to 3ft swell from the southwest. The period is a very long 16 seconds in the mornin' and 14 in the afternoon, which means those waves'll have real shape and push for their size. Energy around 592-607. Perfect for a longboard or funboard, and crowds might show up sometimes, but with waves this clean, who's complainin'?
Saturday the 11th gets a bit bumpy again with some cross-shore wind and a 5ft to 6ft south-west swell. Not the cleanest, but the swell's there.
Sunday the 12th morning is back to pure gold. Glassy with a 8ft swell from the southwest, period a long 15 seconds. Energy's crankin' at 2939. This looks fantastic for experienced surfers. The afternoon turns cross-onshore, so get your session in early.
Monday the 13th morning is another glassy one with a 7ft south-west swell. Solid, clean, and powerful for those who can handle it. The afternoon gets a little lumpy though.
Tuesday the 14th and Wednesday the 15th are both excellent. On the 14th, the mornin' is glassy with a 5ft swell, and the afternoon glassy with a 5ft swell that has a very long 17-second period. The 15th is glassy all day with 6ft and 5ft south-south-west swells. Take your pick – both days are winners.
Thursday the 16th morning keeps the good run goin' – glassy with 5ft swell and a 16-second period. The afternoon fades with a cross-shore breeze and smaller waves.
Then we hit a quiet spell from Friday the 17th through Saturday the 18th. The waves get small, down to 2ft to 3ft, and conditions are ordinary at best. Couple of days to rest up.
Then Sunday the 19th morning, it's game on again. Glassy conditions and a 6ft swell from the southwest with a very long 16-second period. That's a beautiful combo. The afternoon stays clean with a 7ft swell. Energy's solid at 1760 to 1940.
Monday the 20th has a morning onshore wind which is messy, but the afternoon turns glassy with a 6ft south-west swell. Another good session to close the day.
Finally, to wrap it up, Tuesday the 21st morning looks like the best of the entire run. Glassy conditions with an 8ft swell from the south-south-west, a long 14-second period, and the wave energy is massive at 3259. This is a standout morning for experienced surfers only, and it's a solid week and a half away, so keep an eye on the charts.
Best on offer: The pick of the bunch are Friday morning the 10th for those clean, long-period glassy small waves, and Tuesday morning the 21st for a proper, powerful session if you've got the skills. Sunday the 19th is also a top contender. Get amongst it.
Rusty.
