Surf Forecasts:
The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's get real about Kumcağiz.
Gonna be a tough stretch ahead. The whole 16-day window is a flat spell. Not a single wave recommendation to be found. The combined energy of all swells is zero, and the wave comment keeps saying "poor surf conditions." It’s a blank run, and for this area, that’s just how it goes sometimes. The forecasts can change, but right now, there’s nothing to work with.
The water is sitting at 77°F on Thursday the 10th. That's a massive 4°F warmer than normal for this time of year, so it’s unseasonably warm.
We’ve got a few glassy mornings – Saturday the 12th, Sunday the 13th, and Sunday the 20th – but with no swell, it’s just a flat, clean lake. It’s a sandbar that’s inconsistent and only really works for beginners when it does, but even then, it’s borderline exposed. The best we get is a little cross-off or glassy wind, but it’s on a dead-flat ocean. Honestly, if you're looking for a paddle, you’re out of luck. A kite might find some interest in the late periods when the wind picks up, but for a surfboard, it’s a full-on drought.
Stay tuned, though. It can’t stay this quiet forever.
Rusty.
