Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cookin’ for our local stretch.
Honestly, I gotta be straight with you – this is one of those outlooks where you might wanna take up a new hobby for the next couple of weeks. The whole 16-day window is a total flat spell. There’s absolutely no surf on offer at all. The first record is for Saturday the 5th of September, and every single one after that until Sunday the 20th of September shows nothing but “poor surf conditions” with zero wave energy. The combined energy of all swells directed here is a big fat zero (0) the whole time.
We’re looking at Kumcağaz (Kumcagiz), a sandbar setup that’s already inconsistent – and with no swell, it’s just a sandy lake. The water temperature is about average for the time of year, but that doesn’t do you any good when there isn’t a ripple. Winds will be clean and glassy at times, like on the morning of the 5th or the 6th, or that dead calm on the morning of the 17th, but it’s all for nothing without a wave to push you.
For a spot that’s fairly exposed to a NW swell, we’re not seeing a single pulse from the optimum direction. It’s a blank run, and for this area, that’s not totally abnormal. Get the fishing rod out, or just wait for the forecasts to change. There’s nothing here to paddle for.
