Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s be straight with you: the next 16 days are a total washout for surf around Kumcağaz (Kumcagiz). There’s just nothing on the table. The entire stretch from Sunday, August 2nd, right through to Monday, August 17th, is showing zero swell energy – that’s right, a combined energy of 0 (0) the whole way. No waves to speak of, so leave the boards at home.
This is a sandbar setup that’s already inconsistent at the best of times, and right now it’s just flat. The water temp is sitting at 75°F for the first morning we looked at, which is pretty much bang on average for this time of year, so no surprises there. But with no swell, it doesn’t matter.
The wind does clean up on a few mornings – like Tuesday the 4th, with a glassy calm, or Saturday the 8th with another glassy morning, and Monday the 10th with flat calm again. There’s even a clean, cross-off breeze on Thursday the 6th, Sunday the 9th, Thursday the 13th, Friday the 14th, and Monday the 17th. But it’s all for nothing when there’s zero wave energy. It’s the kind of pattern that would make you consider a kite if you’re desperate, but for paddle surfing, it’s a hard no.
