Surf Forecasts:
The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here, and I’ve got to be straight with you – this outlook for the next couple of weeks is a tough one. We’re looking at a classic flat spell for Kumcağaz (Kumcagiz). The whole 16-day window, from now through to the end of the month, is completely lacking any rideable swell. There’s no wave energy to speak of – the combined energy reading is a flat zero the whole way through. This is one of those stretches where the ocean just goes to sleep.
A couple of mornings do offer glassy conditions, like Tuesday the 18th, and a few others around the 23rd and 25th, but without any swell to push through, it’s just a pretty, flat lake. The water is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, sitting at 78°F with a 2°F anomaly, which is a nice thought, but it doesn’t help the surf.
There’s honestly no standout day here. The only break on the radar is a sandbar setup that’s rarely consistent, and it’s not breaking at all. If you’re a beginner, you’d be better off waiting for a proper forecast. The wind does swing offshore on the morning of the 26th of August, with a clean ESE breeze at 9 mph, but again, with nothing to ride, it’s just a clean flat ocean.
Look, this is one of those blank runs that happens here. It’s a waiting game. Forecasts can change, but for now, there’s nothing to paddle out for.
Rusty.
