Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's be straight with you – the outlook for our region is a bit of a bummer for the next couple of weeks. We've got a solid 16-day window ahead of us, but the reality is there's just no surf to speak of. From today, the 3rd of July, right through to the 18th of July, every single report shows flat conditions. It's a blank run, plain and simple.
For the first break on the list, Kumcagiz, it's usually a fairly exposed sandbar that needs a good NW swell to do its thing. But the forecast shows zero wave energy – a big fat zero (0) on the combined energy scale. The water temp is about average for the time of year, but that doesn't matter much when there are no waves to paddle out into.
This is one of those stretches where it's pretty normal for the area to go quiet. The winds are variable, sometimes clean, sometimes choppy, but without any swell pushing through, it's all just a flat, glassy lake. Don't hold your breath. Things can change quickly around here, but for now, the only thing breaking is the flatness. Keep an eye on the forecasts, but this one looks like a long wait.
Rusty.
