Alright, this is Rusty. Let’s get real about Kumcagiz.
First up – the water temp is sitting at 76°F which is pretty much normal for this time of year, so no surprises there.
Now, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the next 16 days are a total flat spell. We’re looking at a solid stretch of nothing – from Thursday the 30th of July all the way through to Friday the 14th of August, there is zero swell energy on offer. That’s over two weeks of clean, glassy mornings and afternoons with no waves to ride. The combined energy of all swells directed here is a big fat zero (0) for every single time slot.
The wind is often light and clean, sometimes glassy, especially on the morning of the 5th of August and again on the 13th of August. But without any swell, that’s just a flat, pretty lake. If you’re a kite surfer, you might find some interest in the afternoon cross-shore breezes, but for paddle surfing, there’s absolutely nothing.
This kind of run is more normal for this area, so don’t lose hope – forecasts can change, but right now, there are no good surf options in the 16-day window.
