Surf Forecasts:
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's cookin' for Kumcagız over the next couple of weeks.
Straight up, I gotta be honest with you – it’s a tough outlook. The whole 16-day run is lookin' like a flat spell with no surfable swell at all. We've got a stretch of blanks from now right through to the 27th of July. Not a single wave on offer, so for a sandbar that's already inconsistent, this is a long, dry gap. The water temp is sitting around 76°F, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, but that's small comfort when there's nothing to ride.
The wind does clean up at times – the morning of Thursday the 16th looks glassy, and the 21st, 22nd, and 27th all have glassy starts too. But with no swell energy (0 in the combined energy department), it's just a flat, pretty lake. A couple of mornings on the 19th and 25th have clean, cross-offshore breezes, but again, it's all for nothing without any sea.
This is one of those runs where the ocean just switches off. For a spot like this, it's not unheard of to have these dead periods, but it doesn't mean it's any less frustrating. There’s simply no surf to be had, not even for the beginners. The only positive is that it tends not to stay this flat forever – forecasts can and do change. But for now, leave the boards at home.
Rusty.
