Surf Forecasts:
The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s on the cards for the Kumcagiz stretch. We’re going to be sitting on our hands for a while, I’m afraid. The forecast is a total dud for the next 16 days with no surfable swell on offer at all. That’s about as quiet as it gets.
Right now, through the whole first week of September, it’s looking dead flat. The combined energy of all swells directed here is zero (0) from the very first record on Tuesday afternoon, and it stays that way. There’s nothing to even get excited about further out either. The second week is the same story – right through to the 16th, we’ve got zeros across the board. That’s a solid 16-day drought.
The only break in the area is Kumcağaz (Kumcagiz), a sandbar setup that’s inconsistent at the best of times. It’s a beginner-level spot, but with zero swell, it’s not even worth paddling out for a float. The water temperature is 77°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, but that’s little comfort when there’s no waves.
We see some glassy mornings on the 4th and 6th, and a few clean cross-offshore winds here and there, but without any swell, it’s all just pretty pictures. Honestly, for a spot that’s already inconsistent, a blank run like this is more normal than a surprise. Forecasts can change, but right now, there’s nothing to ride. Keep the board in the car and wait for the next pulse.
Rusty.
