Updates in hr min s Forecast update imminent
Alright, let's talk Fourth Beach. This spot is gonna be pumping on and off for the next week or so, you just gotta pick your windows. Water temp is about 62°, which is normal for this time of year, so nothing crazy there.
First real action is this Friday morning, July 3rd. A solid, groundswell-driven 10ft SSW swell with a 14-second period. Wind is glassy from the NW, so the face will be clean as a whistle. The combined energy is pumping at 4144 – that’s serious power. Definitely one for the experts; anything over 8ft and you better know what you’re doing. The afternoon drops to a still-jacking 7ft on the same SSW swell, with zero wind. Glassy, clean, and powerful.
Saturday the 4th is still good, but the wind starts to move. Morning has a 7ft SSW groundswell (16 seconds) with a NE cross-off breeze – clean lines. Swell energy is still very strong at 3182. Afternoon, the swell bumps to 8ft (18 seconds) but the wind goes cross-shore from the east. Still rideable, but with a little cross-chop.
Sunday the 5th sees a drop in size, but the conditions are cleaner. Morning is 6ft with a howling 30 km/h N offshore. That fresh wind will keep it glassy, but the energy is moderate at 1325. Afternoon the swell drops to 5ft with a lighter NNE offshore. Gentle and clean, a good option for a cruise.
Monday the 6th is a small day with a 5ft SSW swell and glassy conditions in the morning (974 energy). Tuesday the 7th is the next big standout. Morning cleans up with a 10ft SSW swell, 18-second period, and a light ENE cross-off breeze. The energy is nuclear at 5404. This is another expert-only session. The afternoon stays big at 10ft but gets a bit lumpy with the cross-shore wind.
Wednesday the 8th is another solid call. Both morning and afternoon offer a clean 7ft SSW swell (15-second period) with light offshore or cross-off breezes. Solid moderate wave energy (1842 and 1732). This is a great window for experienced intermediates too.
After that, it gets rough. From Friday the 10th through Monday the 13th, expect rain, strong onshore winds, and a chaotic mix of big swells. You’re looking at blown-out conditions, and that 13ft monster on Saturday the 11th with onshore gales is a mess, not surf. There’s a gap of a few days with no real quality recommendations here until things settle down.
We get a bit of a pulse around Wednesday the 15th and Thursday the 16th, with smaller, cleaner SSW swells (4ft down to 2ft) and offshore winds. The energy is weak (741 down to 210), but a 19-second period on that 2ft Thursday afternoon swell (405 energy) will make for some long, clean walls on the right tide. Then Saturday the 18th rounds out with a 8ft SSW swell, light NW cross-off, and clean conditions – a solid (2841 energy) way to finish the run.
The clear standout is Tuesday morning, July 7th. That 10ft SSW groundswell with an 18-second period and clean, light cross-off wind is the best on offer. It’s expert territory, but the power and shape will be top-shelf. The second best is Wednesday the 8th for a more accessible, yet still quality, session.
