Surf Forecasts:
The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s on the table for the next couple of weeks.
Straight up, I’ve got to be honest with you – this is a tough one. The entire 16-day window is a complete flat spell. There’s not a single surfable wave on offer from the 23rd of July right through to the 7th of August. The combined energy is sitting at 0 the whole time, so we’re talking about a proper, extended dead period. That’s a long gap of over two weeks with no recommendations, so if you’re itching for a paddle, you might want to look at other hobbies for a bit.
The only break in the lineup is Ahtopol, a point break that’s inconsistent and rarely breaks. Normally, when it does work, it needs an easterly swell to get going. But the forecast just isn’t delivering any swell at all. The wind is all over the place too – we get a few glassy mornings, like the 24th, 27th, and 28th of July, with light airs and clean conditions, but there’s simply no waves to enjoy them. The water temperature is about average for this time of year, so you won’t need a thick suit, but you will need a lot of patience.
Honestly, this is one of those blank runs that’s normal for the area. It’s flat, it’s quiet, and the only thing breaking is the silence. Keep an eye on the charts, though – it tends not to stay poor for long.
Rusty.
