Surf Forecasts:
The Lowdown
G’day, Rusty here. Look, I’ve gotta be straight with you – the next 16 days are a total write-off for surf at Ahtopol. There’s not a single wave on offer, nothing. Nada. From Friday the 7th of August right through to Saturday the 22nd of August, every single session shows “poor surf conditions” with zero swell energy.
It’s a real shame, because the spot itself is a point break that can handle an easterly swell. But the finder is showing no swell at all for the whole period. The combined energy of all swells directed here is a flat zero (0) every day, so there’s simply nothing to get excited about.
The winds are a mixed bag of cross-shore and cross-onshore breezes, with a few glassy moments on the 19th, 21st, and 22nd, but without any swell, it’s just a flat lake. Even the glassy conditions won’t help if there’s no wave.
For a spot that’s already inconsistent, a blank run like this isn’t completely out of the ordinary. The water temp is about average for the time of year, so no weird anomalies there. But don’t bother packing your board for this one – forecasts can change, but right now, there’s nothing to chase.
Rusty.
