Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s be straight with you – the next 16 days are about as flat as a pancake for Ahtopol. There’s not a single surfable wave on the cards from now through to July 25th. I’ve looked through the whole run, and every single session is marked as poor surf conditions with zero combined energy. That’s it. Nothing.
The water at Ahtopol is sitting at 77°F right now, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, but that’s about the only thing worth noting. You’ll get plenty of glassy mornings on the 11th, 12th, 13th, 15th, and 19th of July, with clean, calm conditions, but there’s simply no swell to push through. A few days, like the 23rd and 24th, see some strong northwesterly winds hitting 19-22 mph, but with no waves, all that does is blow the surface flat.
This kind of blank run is pretty normal for the area when there’s nothing moving in the eastern Atlantic. It’s a frustrating stretch, but forecasts can change, and it tends not to stay this poor forever. For now, leave the boards at home.
