Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's be straight with you – the outlook for the next 16 days is a tough one for Ahtopol. We've got a long stretch of nothing. The whole first week and into the second is just a blank. From Tuesday the 4th of August right through to Saturday the 15th of August, it's a flat spell with no surf on offer. The winds are mostly cross or onshore, and the sea is just not producing. It's a quiet period for this area, and sometimes that's just how it goes.
The first real glimmer of hope doesn't arrive until the very end of the forecast. On Sunday the 16th of August, we see a change. The morning kicks off with glassy conditions and a light SW wind, which is a beautiful thing to see. But, the swell energy is still at zero – there's nothing to ride. It's the same story on Monday the 17th and Tuesday the 18th of August, with glassy mornings but still no actual swell. The water temp is about average for the time of year, so no wild surprises there. It's a frustrating wait, but it's worth keeping an eye on the forecasts – things can change quickly.
The standout, if you can call it that, is the morning of Sunday the 16th of August. It's not a day for surfing, but it's the first sign that the pattern might be shifting. For now, the board stays in the car.
