G’day, Rusty here, and I’ve got to be straight with you – the outlook for the next 16 days is a total bust. The whole run from July 25th right through to August 9th is a flat spell with zero swell energy (0) and zero surf on offer. The water is a touch warmer than normal at 78°, but that’s about the only thing happening.
The finder shows no recommendations at all. For Ahtopol (Bulgaria), this kind of blank run isn’t out of the ordinary – it’s a point break that’s inconsistent, and when there’s no energy, there’s simply nothing to ride. The wind does go glassy a few times – like on the morning of July 26th with a light WNW breeze, and again on August 3rd and August 9th under calm conditions – but without a single wave, it’s just flat calm. The forecast shows a mix of cross-onshore and cross winds through the period, but it doesn’t matter because there’s no swell to work with.
There’s no standout, no hidden gem, nothing to get excited about. The swell energy is zero across every entry, so don’t bother paddling out. The best I can say is that forecasts can change, and it’s not uncommon for this area to go quiet, but right now, you’re better off doing something else.
