Alright gang, Rusty here. Let’s take a look at what’s on offer for the next couple of weeks.
Straight up, I’m not gonna sugarcoat it – we’ve got a real flat spell ahead. The forecast starts now and runs for 16 days, but the first 16 days are a total write-off. There’s zero combined wave energy (0) on the table for the entire outlook. The swell is completely gone.
The only spot in the frame is Agios Dimitros, a beginner-friendly, exposed south-facing break that’s inconsistent. It’s a spot that needs a decent south swell to come to life, and we just don’t have one. The water temperature is sitting at 78°, which is about average for this time of year. That’s about the only good news.
The first few days are glassy with some offshore winds, but there’s simply nothing to ride. We’re looking at a long, dry spell with no surfable waves, just clean but flat water. The winds are mostly offshore or light, but it’s like a perfect setup for a paddleboard, not a surfboard. The conditions are clean, but without any swell, there’s no point.
Even into the second week, the pattern holds. The winds get stronger, especially around the 1st and 2nd of September, with offshore gales of 40 mph, which would make it virtually impossible to paddle into anything even if there was a wave. It’s a tough run for this area.
So, bottom line: there are no good surf options in this 16-day window. The forecast shows a total flat spell. It’s one of those blank runs that’s more normal for the region when the swell directions don’t line up. Sometimes it stays poor for a while, but forecasts can change. Keep an eye on it, but for now, I’d hang the board up.
