Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s headed our way for Agios Dimitros.
To be straight with you, the next week and a half is looking pretty flat. We’ve got a long stretch of nothing going on from Thursday the 9th of July right through to Friday the 17th of July, with no surf to speak of. The conditions are clean and glassy at times, especially on the mornings of the 10th and 11th with light winds, but there’s just no swell to push anything through. It’s a real dead spell.
The first hint of life shows up on the morning of Friday the 17th. We’re talking a tiny little 0.7ft pulse from the south with a short period of 4 seconds. The combined energy is weak (1), so it’s barely a ripple. Winds are light offshore from the north-northeast, so it’ll be clean and you could get a knee-high sloppy one if you’re desperate. For a beginner, it’s safe, but honestly, it’s not worth paddling out for.
The water temp is sitting at 77°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year. Nothing wild, but nice if you’re in.
After that, it’s back to flat. The whole outlook from the 18th through to the 24th of July is a big zero. Clean skies, some glassy mornings, but absolutely no swell. The winds are often offshore or light, so the conditions are there, but the ocean is just not playing ball.
The best I can say is that if you’re a beginner, the morning of the 17th might give you a tiny, clean wobble. But for anyone looking for a proper wave, there’s nothing on offer in the entire 16-day window. It’s a blank run. That’s pretty normal for this area when the swell windows shut down.
