The Lowdown
Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s cookin’ for the next couple of weeks. Gotta be straight with you – this one’s a bit of a heartbreaker. The whole 16-day window is looking like a total flat spell. There’s absolutely nothing on the cards that’s worth paddling out for. It’s a long stretch of “poor surf conditions” with zero energy in the water.
For the first week and a half, from Saturday the 5th right through to the morning of Monday the 14th of September, it’s all zeros for swell. The wind is often clean – plenty of offshore and glassy mornings, which is a real tease – but with no waves to work with, it’s just a perfect lake. That’s a solid 9-day gap with no surf on offer at all. It’s the kind of quiet that makes you want to check your board for cracks.
The only blip of anything happens on Monday the 14th of September at Agios Dimitros. In the morning, we finally see a tiny pulse: a 0.7 ft swell from the south, but with a period of only 4 seconds. That’s pure wind chop, barely enough to wobble a floatie. The combined energy is a pathetic 1. It’s a beginner-level wave, and the break is inconsistent anyway. After that brief, sad hiccup, it goes right back to nothing for the rest of the period. The wind is often cross-on or onshore after that morning, so even if something showed up, it’d be messy. The water temp is about average for the time of year here, not that it matters when there’s no surf.
So there you have it. No standout days, no hidden gems. This stretch is one for tinkering with your fins or going for a long drive to find a coast that’s actually working. Forecasts can change, but right now, this is a solid blank run for the area.
Rusty.
