Alright folks, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what's on the cards for Agios Dimitros.
Well, I gotta be straight with you – it's looking pretty bleak for the next fortnight or so. There's a big, long stretch of nothing coming our way. We're looking at days and days of flatness, with zero surf on offer from now all the way through to the morning of Wednesday, August 26th. That's a solid two-week dry spell. The water's sitting at 79°, which is a touch warmer than we'd normally expect for this time of year, but that's not much comfort when there's no waves.
The wind is offshore for most of that flat period, and it's often strong, too strong to paddle into. We'd be loving that wind if there was any swell to go with it, but there isn't. It's a real tease.
Finally, on the morning of Wednesday, August 26th, a tiny pulse of swell shows up. It's just 0.7 ft from the south, with a weak, short period of 5 seconds. The combined energy is a paltry 3, so it's barely a ripple. The wind goes glassy that morning, so it'll be clean, but you're looking at dribbly, knee-high slop at best. Don't get your hopes up.
The rest of the forecast window after that stays small and bumpy, with onshore winds picking up. There's just nothing here to get excited about. For an exposed spot that really needs a solid south swell, this is a total bust. I'd say leave the boards in the shed and find something else to do. This is one of those blank runs that's more normal for the area when the south swell just doesn't line up.
