Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at the 16-day window for Agios Dimitros.
Straight up, I gotta be honest with you – this is gonna be a tough stretch. The forecast shows zero wave energy for the entire period. The combined energy of all swells is at a flat 0, and every single report says "poor surf conditions." There is no surf to speak of from now, right through until Monday the 17th of August. That’s a full 16-day gap with no recommendations. Not a single wave on offer.
The one break we’ve got to talk about is Agios Dimitros itself. It’s a beginner spot, exposed to the south, but it’s inconsistent and rarely breaks. The water temp is sitting at 80°, which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year – about 3° above average, so you’ll be comfortable in boardshorts.
The only positive here is the wind. Most afternoons we’ve got a clean offshore breeze from the NNE, with gusts up to 22 mph at times. The mornings are often cross-offshore, so the conditions are clean. But without any swell, it’s just a glassy, flat lake. There’s nothing to ride.
If you’re a kite surfer, you might be able to get something out of the strong afternoon winds, but for paddle surfing, this is a total blank. It’s a long, dry run, and unfortunately, it’s not uncommon for this area. Keep your gear ready – forecasts can change, but for now, we’re waiting on the ocean.
