Alright folks, Rusty here. Let’s be straight with you: the next 16 days are a total write-off for surfing at Agios Dimitros. There’s absolutely no swell on the cards – the combined wave energy sits at a dismal 0 for the entire forecast period. Not even a ripple worth paddling for.
Forget about getting wet for any kind of proper surf. The water temperature is sitting at 76°F right now, which is about average for this time of year, but that’s small comfort when there’s not a wave to ride. Thursday afternoon the 2nd of July kicks things off with a cross-on breeze and nothing beneath it, and it’s just more of the same day after day – clean conditions, offshore winds at times, even some glassy moments on Friday the 10th of July, but all of it wasted on a flat ocean. The swell direction, period, height – all blanks in the data. It’s dead.
Agios Dimitros is an exposed beginner spot that’s inconsistent at the best of times, but this is a prolonged drought.
