Right now, Agios Dimitros is flat. Totally flat. There’s no surf on the cards at all for the entire 16-day window. Not a single wave is forecast to show up. The ocean is basically taking a long nap. The water temperature here is sitting at a very unusual 81°, which is much warmer than normal for this time of year – nearly four and a half degrees above average. That’s a standout in itself, but unfortunately it doesn’t help the surf.
We’re looking at a solid blank stretch from now, beginning Monday morning on the 24th of August, all the way through to the morning of Tuesday the 8th of September. Over two weeks of nothing. The winds are often offshore or glassy, especially on the mornings – plenty of clean conditions – but without any swell, it’s just a flat, glassy lake out there. The spot is inconsistent at the best of times, and right now it’s not even breaking. The break faces south, and we just aren’t seeing any energy coming from that direction. If you’re a beginner, there’s nothing to learn on. If you’re an expert, there’s nothing to charge. Honestly, it’s a tough run.
