The Lowdown
Alright, Rusty here. Let’s have a look at what’s on offer.
Honestly, it’s a pretty grim run for the next couple of weeks. We’re looking at a long stretch of flat or near-flat conditions from now until the middle of the month. The first real readings don’t show up until the morning of the 15th of September, and even then it’s a tiny whisper of swell. The combined wave energy is a measly 1–2 in the foot range, so there’s just nothing to get excited about. The wind is often offshore or clean, but without any swell to work with, it doesn’t matter.
Agios Dimitros is your only spot on the radar, and it’s a beginner-heavy, inconsistent break that needs a south swell to really wake up. The water temperature anomaly is not mentioned, so we’ll leave it at that. The crowds can sometimes be a thing here, but with this forecast, you’ll have the place to yourself.
The best chance for a paddle comes on the morning of the 16th of September. We’ve got a 2ft south swell with a period of 5 seconds and the combined energy climbing to 12. The wind is light offshore from the northeast, and the morning is glassy. It’s not big, but it’s the cleanest window we see. The afternoon of the 16th also looks glassy with a 2ft south swell, period 5 seconds, and energy up to 15, which is still weak (15) but the most energy in the entire outlook. That’s your standout. The 18th of September morning also has glassy conditions, but the swell is smaller at 1.0ft, period 3 seconds, and energy only 2.
After that, it’s back to flat. The 20th and 21st have strong offshore winds blowing, but no swell to ride. The whole window is a dud for surfers who want to get wet. It’s a shame, but it happens. Forecasts can change, so keep an eye on the ocean.
Rusty.
