Alright, Rusty here. Let's have a look at what we've got on the cards for Agios Dimitros.
Honestly, looking over the next couple of weeks, it’s a pretty grim stretch for paddle surfing. The entire first two and a half weeks of the forecast are a total write-off – we're talking from now all the way until Saturday the 25th with absolutely no surf to speak of. That’s a big, flat gap. The combined swell energy is sitting at zero for days on end, so there’s just nothing in the water.
When we finally get a pulse of energy on Saturday the 25th, it's barely a murmur. The morning brings a tiny 0.7ft swell from the SSW with a short period of 7 seconds. That’s windswell, not groundswell. The combined energy is a weak 8. It’s barely gonna break, and if it does, it’ll be gutless. The wind is blowing offshore from the North at 12 mph which would usually be a plus, but there’s just no swell to work with. In the afternoon the same 0.7ft shifts to the South, period drops to 5 seconds with energy at 4, and a strong offshore NNE breeze at 22 mph. That's just gonna blow the tops off any ripple that tries to stand up. Not worth getting wet for.
The water temp is sitting at 77°F which is a touch warmer than normal for this time of year, but that’s about all the excitement we’ve got.
The outlook for Sunday the 26th is even worse, back to zero energy. There's just nothing on offer here for a surfer. If the wind keeps blowing like that, this setup might look more interesting for kite surfing than paddle surfing, but for us? It’s a flat spell.
