The Lowdown

Alright, let’s talk Pease Bay in feet and miles per hour. The next 16 days? Dead flat. Nothing good. Every single time slot in the data is marked “poor surf conditions” with a score of zero. That’s unusual for a spot that’s normally consistent, but it happens.

The biggest wave we see is 3ft on Monday morning, 20 July, from the NE at 8 seconds, with combined energy of 129 (moderate, but still poor). After that, it’s downhill fast – heights drop to 1ft, 1.0ft, even 0.3ft, with periods 5–8 seconds. Combined energy mostly in the teens or single digits – weak. Winds are all over the place, but even when it’s glassy or clean, there’s no swell to ride.

From Friday 24 July onward, it’s essentially flat. Heights of 0.3ft to 1.0ft, periods 5–7 seconds, combined energy under 10. There’s a tiny blip on 2 August – 1ft at 9 seconds from NNE, combined energy 43 – but still poor. The wind that day is offshore from the SW, which would be perfect, but the swell is too small to do anything.

So the whole 16-day window from 20 July to 4 August is a bust. No standouts. If you’ve got a longboard you might catch a ripple on 2 August morning when it’s glassy, but it’s not worth the drive. These dry spells happen, and Pease Bay usually picks up again, so don’t lose hope. Forecasts can change, but for now, keep the board in the garage.
